The movement to restore gold notes to their original form is being spearheaded by Valaurum. Although these notes have the appearance of paper money, they are actually composed of small layers of 24-karat gold that are shielded from view by layers of polyester. Moreover, the face value of these notes varies based on the program of issuance.
What sets Gold Notes and Goldbacks apart from each other is the piece's face value and legal tender status. Gold notes frequently include exquisite patterns on both sides and are authorized by governments or central banks to be issued by Valaurum. They also have a legal tender face value.
There is a special kind of gold note called goldbacks. Goldbacks are released in denominations of 50, 25, 10, 5, and 1 in distinct series, each of which represents a distinct US state. US legal tender does not include goldbacks. But Goldbacks ARE a kind of optional money. Again allowing Americans to spend a stable form of gold in transactions, vendors in a specific state have the option to accept Goldbacks for routine transactions.

The 2011 enactment of the Utah Legal Tender Act served as the model for the Utah Goldback Gold Notes. This aimed to give Utahns identifiable gold coins to use as legal tender within the state. These Goldback Gold Notes are a great investment choice for anyone purchasing gold, and they are accepted by shops in Utah as optional local money.
Face: Features Prudence herself who represents the Native American tribes within the state of Utah in appearance and dress, with the Ute, Paiute, Navajo, Iroquois, and Goshute tribes being incorporated into her design.1
New Hampshire Goldback - Aurum Gold Foil Note (24k)
The local government in Utah initially proposed a bill in 2011 to allow Utahans to once again pay with gold. This was the introduction of goldbacks for the state of Utah. Goldback notes can be used to pay for goods and services inside the state in which they are issued, even though they are not US legal money. Vendors must voluntarily accept the notes before they can be used for business purposes.
Face: In her first appearance on a Goldback series, Gratia, or Grace, is featured on the New Hampshire 1 Goldback denomination. She is depicted as an Abanaki Native American woman from the Algonquin tribes, who have history in the area. She is wearing a traditional dress and beads in front of an Abenaki wigwam. She is accompanied by a river otter, representing resourcefulness and finding joy in the moment with both attributes being key parts of grace and leading a balanced life.2
1 Nevada Goldback - Aurum Gold Foil Note (24k)
Produced by Valaurum, the 1 Nevada Goldback Gold Notes are a cost-effective and multipurpose form of gold that can be used for spending in specific situations. The gold notes are a voluntary form of locally issued money that are privately issued. Full-color, high-resolution artwork and text are featured on every gold note.
Face: Features Lady Charity represented in the form of Mother Mary. She is depicted next to a pillar while two cherubs place a crown on her head. At her feet is a candle and a jar of oil. The candle she is holding is the Candle of Charity. A pair of pheasants can be seen in the foreground while woven into the bottom of Charity’s dress is the word “LOVE.”3
1 Wyoming Goldback - Aurum Gold Foil Note (24k)
The distinctive feature of goldbacks is that each note is sufficiently light to be used with merchants who will take payment in gold. With a 24-karat gold content of just 1/1000th Troy oz, the 1 Wyoming Gold Note is the smallest useable form of gold in existence. These notes are created by layering minute amounts of gold in polymer sheets together utilizing exclusive methods.
Face: Features Reverentia depicted in this design as a Shoshone Native American woman wearing a traditional buckskin dress and standing in Wyoming's Northwestern Plains region. The formation that we call Devil’s Tower, or Mato Tipila (meaning bear lodge or bear rock), is in the background. Behind Reverentia stands an American bison, and in the foreground is a bison skull.4
1 South Dakota Goldback - Aurum Gold Foil Note (24k):
Goldbacks have the same shape as regular money, but they are thinly coated in 24-karat gold. Thanks to the Utah Legal Tender Act of 2019, these distinctive notes were first made available as optional currency in Utah. This implies that how you use these remarks will depend on the Utah vendor's judgment. Nevada, New Hampshire, and Wyoming were made available.
Face: A depiction of Pax is shown on the obverse field of each 1 South Dakota Goldback note. Pax is Latin for peace as well as the Roman goddess of peace. She’s seen holding a group of five rings and she’s surrounded by an array of animals. Flowers are shown at the bottom of the design field as a mountain range completes the design on top of the note.5
