Hello, guys. Glad to see a silver stacking community here in Hive as well. I just want to share my experience and how I became a stacker. I was deep into crypto investing back in early 2017. I started following some YouTubers as well. One of them had a poll for his subscribers as he was asking for advice on some good investments outside of crypto. Among the suggestions that he got, one of them said something about buying physical silver.
It piqued my interest as I never thought that there actually are people who buy silver as an investment. I always had this notion that silver is cheap and abundant. Not many people knew about investing in silver. It's not even pawnable in most shops. Here in the Philippines, silver is commonly seen as jewelry especially for teens and those who are uncomfortable or unable to afford wearing gold. So I dug deeper into silver stacking and stumbled upon Chris Dwayne's channel. He was one of my early influences. His videos are somewhat radical but very, very informative.
I started searching and found a reputable silver community which amounts to less than a hundred members at the time. The first round I bought was a one-ounce Sunshine Mint buffalo. I chose it since it had a security feature in its center. I had no idea back then as to how to determine real from fakes. It also commands a high premium here in my country even back then. I had to pay around 60% over spot on my first purchase. But I sucked it all up and went on investing little by little until I reach my first 100-ounce mark after three years. It might not be much to some but it's a feat for me, given that our minimum daily wage is just about $10 a day.
Fast forward to today, 2021, and I'm still stacking at every opportunity I've got. I'm now eyeing more towards constitutional coins as they have the lowest premium. I keep on stacking for my family's future. The world is rapidly hurling towards darker days but my stack at least gives me some reassurance that I have something to rely on when shtf.
