Hey Hive people,
It may be getting colder, but that hasn't stopped me from metal detecting! I did some research and found an old golf course to hunt at (owned by a public park). The metal targets are few to come by due to the grass being so overgrown, but I managed to find three silvers in the past couple weeks!
The first of the trifecta was a 1942 Mercury dime. This was the US dime from 1916-1945. It is a much cooler design! 90 percent silver of course! You don't see this in change anymore, but it is still underground!
The second silver I found at the golf course may resemble the current dime, but it's 90 percent silver. The Roosevelt Dime was made of silver from 1946-1964. Although it is easy to find a penny from the 60s in circulation, you would be very lucky to find the silver dime or quarter pre 1965 in any change currently. Unfortunately, I hit it with my shovel 😒
The last of the silver coin trifecta was yet another Mercury dime..a 1937 D.
That brings my total to 8 silver coins metal detecting so far and 11 pieces of silver counting jewelry.
Stay thirsty for treasure! Keep Stackin'!!!
Cheers.
