Hace muchos años en Venezuela todos nosotros anhelábamos que llegara el mes de noviembre y enseguida diciembre 🤶 ¿saben por qué? Porque era tradición recibir como obsequio cestas de alimentos propios de la época decembrina, pero además dependiendo de tu ámbito laboral o social estas cestas podían incluir un regalo muy especial presentado en hermosas y lujosas botellas 🥳 sí señores 🥂 en mi país la época de navidad todos o casi todos en cualquiera de los días de esta temporada solíamos recibir al menos una copa de un buen vino o de nuestro amado y muy degustado ponche crema. Como mencioné anteriormente los que más relaciones sociales tenían lograban llevar a casa no una sino varias botellas de licor.

En el hogar donde me crié, en casa de mis padres, ciudad de Caracas y después Maturín-Monagas-Venezuela pude ver muchas de estas botellas que le regalaban a mi papá, en ocasiones acompañadas del delicioso pan de jamón o de frutos secos. Mi papá desempeñó todo tipo de trabajos y en todos fue muy querido. Todos los años llegaba con botellas de buen licor.

La verdad es que los venezolanos somos consumidores de licor por excelencia, quiero destacar que el propósito de mi publicación es resaltar el libre hábito que tenemos los que vivimos en Venezuela en cuanto al consumo de licores y muy especialmente en la época de celebración de la navidad. Aquí está permitido, es legal, cumpliendo con ciertas normativas el consumo, compra y venta de estas bebidas alcohólicas.

Es posible que también en algunas empresas, generalmente privadas los trabajadores sean beneficiados en forma de premio por desempeño, bono, sorteo o beneficio personal con una cesta de comidas que a su vez traía al menos tres botellas de licor, nunca faltaba la botella del tradicional PONCHE CREMA. Esta bebida es prácticamente la que no puede faltar en las mesas de navidad; en noche buena y fin de año tomar una copa o vasito de ponche es costumbre, así que ya hemos aprendido a prepararla y lo hacemos muy bien.

Es en la época decembrina que muchos comerciantes aprovechan de sacar mejores ganancias, incluso aquellos que jamás han tenido un comercio formal encuentran en la venta de bebidas alcohólicas una manera rápida de multiplicar su dinero. Porque repito, a los venezolanos nos encanta beber 🥂 y disfrutar de la mejor temporada del año.

Cuando escribo nos gusta es porque a mí me encantaría poder probarlas todas. No soy bebedora, pero si me gusta probar y criticar la bebida. A mí papá le gustaba tomar whisky, nunca lo ví sentarse a embriagarse con otros licores, aunque sí bebía de todo un poco. Papá solía guardar esas botellas que le regalaban los clientes o los proveedores. Él siempre fue comerciante, por eso en casa nunca faltó una buena botella de whisky, el pan de jamón, panetones y dulces. En casa comprábamos el ponche crema porque no sé la razón, mi papá casi no llevaba de ese licor a casa y era el que más deseábamos, claro, éramos todos muy jóvenes y solo nos permitían probarlo.

Con el pasar del tiempo y los constantes cambios en la economía, el consumo de estas bebidas ha ido disminuyendo quedando como opción beber de los licores más comunes o populares. En realidad estos que llamamos ron y cervezas, de diversas marcas, tamaños y sabores se adueñaron de los espacios en los hogares de casi todos nosotros. Recuerdo que la primera vez que probé tequila hice una fiesta porque era un privilegio comprar una botella.

Ninguno más popular y consumido que el anís 😁 entre los licores calientes este es uno de los más vendidos. Creo que todos los venezolanos bebedores y no bebedores lo han probado. Luego les hablaré de las combinaciones que solemos hacer con esta bebida.

No es que me llene de orgullo 🤭 ¿o si? Pero también somos fabricantes de muy buenos licores. ¡Ah! Es que si nos gusta tenemos que aprender a hacerlos ¿No creen?

Son muy costosos los licores importados, especialmente los añejados, no soy conocedora de este tema, pero ya que tenemos una comunidad para compartir del tema en cuestión empezaré a estudiar un poco, es muy interesante. Era común en los hogares y debía formar parte de las casas un pequeño o amplio espacio para un bar. Esto después también se fue perdiendo y las botellas que compramos son más bien desechables ¿Para qué entonces tener un bar?

En fin estimados amigos, las bebidas alcohólicos representan parte de la tradición, costumbres y hábitos del venezolano. Hay quienes pueden disfrutar y degustar de muy buenos y costosos licores.

El salario promedio del venezolano no nos permite llevar a casa en estas navidades una botella de whisky como la que vemos a continuación, si puedes notar el costo es el número de la referencia que ves en el hablador, estos están reflejados en dólares 🤦 jamás podríamos siendo asalariados.

Esta es la razón por la que en las licorerías, no bodegones como este que he visitado hoy, la venta y consumo de licores no es de botellas de whisky, ni vinos. En la mayoría de las comunidades hay licorerías por todos lados, dos a más por sector. ¿Todas venden? Sí. ¿Qué venden?

En las licorerías comunes siempre encontraremos variedad, pero abundan unas en particular, las latas y botellas de cerveza, los licores dulces, rones y otros.

Cada quien compra lo que su poder adquisitivo le permita. Lo que sí voy a asegurarles es que en navidad los que beben, beben lo que sea. Muchas veces bajan sus niveles de exigencias con tal de no dejar pasar su noche buena o de fin de año sin tomar su respectiva copa de licor.

Aquí en casa solo hemos comprado cervezas en dos oportunidades, si no me equivoco en los años que llevo de vida me habré tomado unas 12 cervezas quizá y algunas Smirnoff. Pero a los visitantes sí les gusta tomar cervezas y en nuestras casas no puede faltar lo que llamamos el vacío, no sé realmente si se sigue comprando así la caja de cervezas, pero aquí hay una todavía. El vacío se refiere a una caja con botellas de cervezas vacías, estás se llevan a las licorerías y se entregan al comprar una caja de botellas llenas, el costo es menor si llevas este vacío.

¡Ya se te hizo aguas la boca! Pues bien, estas son las reinas de las "bebidas espirituosas" o de la "caña" del venezolano 😂 después te explico sobre esos términos. Espero que todos nosotros podamos disfrutar en armonía, amor y paz de unas lindas navidades disfrutando de al menos de una de estas "friitas". Many years ago in Venezuela we all longed for the month of November and then December 🤶 do you know why? Because it was tradition to receive as a gift baskets of food typical of the Christmas season, but also depending on your work or social environment these baskets could include a very special gift presented in beautiful and luxurious bottles 🥳 yes gentlemen 🥂 in my country at Christmas time all or almost all in any of the days of this season we used to receive at least a glass of a good wine or our beloved and much tasted cream punch. As I mentioned before, those who had more social relations were able to take home not one but several bottles of liquor.

In the home where I grew up, in my parents' house, in the city of Caracas and later in Maturin-Monagas-Venezuela, I could see many of these bottles given to my dad, sometimes accompanied by the delicious ham bread or dried fruits. My dad worked in all kinds of jobs and he was loved in all of them. Every year he would arrive with bottles of good liquor.

The truth is that Venezuelans are consumers of liquor par excellence, I want to emphasize that the purpose of my publication is to highlight the free habit that we who live in Venezuela have regarding the consumption of liquor and especially at the time of celebration of Christmas. Here it is allowed, it is legal, complying with certain regulations the consumption, purchase and sale of these alcoholic beverages.

When I write we love it is because I would love to be able to try them all. I'm not a drinker, but I do like to taste and critique the drink. My dad liked to drink whiskey, I never saw him sit down and get drunk on other liquors, although he did drink a little bit of everything. Dad used to keep those bottles given to him by customers or suppliers. He was always a merchant, so at home there was never a lack of a good bottle of whiskey, ham bread, panettone and sweets. At home we used to buy the cream punch because I don't know the reason, my dad almost never brought that liquor home and it was the one we wanted the most, of course, we were all very young and we were only allowed to try it.

With the passing of time and the constant changes in the economy, the consumption of these drinks has been decreasing, leaving as an option to drink the most common or popular liquors. In fact, what we call rum and beer, of different brands, sizes and flavors, took over the space in the homes of almost all of us. I remember the first time I tasted tequila I had a party because it was a privilege to buy a bottle.

None more popular and consumed than anise 😁 among the hot liquors this is one of the best sellers. I think all Venezuelan drinkers and non-drinkers have tried it. Later I will tell you about the combinations we usually make with this drink.

Not that I'm proud of it 🤭 am I? But we are also makers of very good liqueurs. Ah! If we like it, we have to learn how to make them, don't you think?

Imported liquors are very expensive, especially the aged ones, I am not knowledgeable on this subject, but since we have a community to share on the subject in question I will start to study it a little, it is very interesting. It used to be common in homes and a small or large space for a bar had to be part of the house. This then also was lost and the bottles we buy are rather disposable, why then have a bar?

Anyway, dear friends, alcoholic beverages represent part of the Venezuelan tradition, customs and habits. There are those who can enjoy and taste very good and expensive liquors.

Here at home we have only bought beers on two occasions, if I'm not mistaken in the years I've been alive I've had maybe 12 beers and some Smirnoff. But visitors do like to drink beers and in our houses we can not miss what we call the vacuum, I do not really know if you still buy the box of beer, but here there is still one. The vacuum refers to a box with empty bottles of beer, these are taken to the liquor stores and are delivered when you buy a box of full bottles, the cost is lower if you take this vacuum.
