Talent Land would be a very important event for Mexico, I knew that since I found out about it through a publication made by Value Plan since December 2024, I knew I had to be there, so taking advantage of the fact that there was still a lot of time left and some of the december bonanza, I booked my flight to Guadalajara and not only mine but also that of @konchix my wife who accompanied me on this adventure and who already has more than 4 years of making life in Hive, I felt it was time to live an experience like this for her although she confessed not to feel ready yet.

In this part I want to add that as I had time in advance to make my reservations I got a price that was practically a 2x1 in terms of flights, and the lodging I also booked months in advance because I could choose an area closer to the places I wanted to know with small flash escapes between dead times.

Here is the list in case someone visits Guadalajara, for me these are some of the most emblematic places near the city and the historic center:

Teatro Degollado: Right in front of the cathedral, a neoclassical icon.

Ideal for a light stroll and photo opportunities.

🎭 Tlaquepaque (perfect for an afternoon excursion):

A Pueblo Magico within the city - artistic, colorful and full of character.

Stroll along the Andador Independencia (art galleries, crafts, stores).

El Parián: Plaza with live mariachi music and tequila bars.

Good dining options: Casa Luna or El Patio (super Mexican atmosphere).

Very Instagram-friendly.

Talent Land sería un evento muy importante para México eso lo supe desde que me enteré por una publicación hecha por Value Plan desde diciembre del 2024, sabía que tenía que estar ahí, así que aprovechando que faltaba mucho tiempo y algo de la bonanza decembrina, reserve mi vuelo para Guadalajara y no solo el mío sino el de @konchix mi esposa quien me acompañó en esta aventura y que ya tiene mas de 4 años de hacer vida en Hive sentí que era tiempo de vivir una experiencia como esta para ella aunque ella confesaba el no sentirse lista aun.

En esta parte quiero agregar que como tuve tiempo de antelación para hacer mis reservas me salió a un precio que prácticamente era a un 2x1 en cuanto a vuelos, y el hospedaje también lo reservé con meses de antelación pues pude elegir un área mas cercana a los lugares que quería conocer con pequeñas escapadas flash entre tiempos muertos.

Aquí les dejo la lista por si alguien visita Guadalajara para mi son de los lugares mas emblemáticos cerca de la ciudad y del centro histórico:

Centro histórico (zona de visita obligada):

Catedral de Guadalajara: Impresionante arquitectura en el centro de la ciudad.

Teatro Degollado: Justo enfrente de la catedral, un icono neoclásico.

Rotonda de los Jaliscienses Ilustres: Monumento en honor a las leyendas locales.

Hospicio Cabañas: Patrimonio de la Humanidad de la UNESCO, con murales de Orozco.

Ideal para dar un paseo ligero y hacer fotos.

Lugares cercanos para tomar el brunch: Café Benito Sala Juárez, Café Madrid.

🎭 Tlaquepaque (perfecto para una excursión por la tarde):

Un Pueblo Mágico dentro de la ciudad - artístico, colorido y lleno de carácter.

Pasea por el Andador Independencia (galerías de arte, artesanías, tiendas).

El Parián: Plaza con música mariachi en directo y locales de tequila.

Buenas opciones para cenar: Casa Luna o El Patio (ambiente súper mexicano).

The first day we arrived in Guadalajara, we waited for @vaultec at the airport because we arrived at about the same time, it was a pleasure to greet him after meeting him at HiveFest 8 in 2023, we talked about his already very advanced VSC project and the expectations we had about the Talent Land 2025, it was a pleasure to see the good Vaultec again.

El primer día que hemos llegado a Guadalajara, esperamos a @vaultec en el aeropuerto pues llegamos mas o menos a la misma hora, fue un gusto saludarlo después de haberlo conocido en el HiveFest 8 en el 2023, platicamos de su ya muy avanzado proyecto VSC y de las expectativas que teníamos sobre el
Talent Land 2025, fue un placer volver a ver al buen Vaultec.

In this selfie taken by the good @alex-rourke (who I met there and gave me a very positive vibe, he is my namesake and he looks Mexican and maybe he is, you know that Mexicans are born where the fuck we want) we are arriving from the airport to the place where everything was ready for the first meetup to get organized for day 1 of the event, There I was able to say hello again to my bro @eddiespino and @starkerz @manuphotos @jza who I was looking forward to see because it had been a while since I had seen them in person.

I was also able to meet @ecoinstant and @ecoinstante with whom my wife and I quickly connected, besides Ecoinstante and Konchix had a lot in common because within the team they were the female representatives, I always joked with them about the great weight they had on their backs, but the truth is they performed very well and left very high that female representation of Hive in the event, my respects to both and special recognition, at least in Mexico they are the pioneer Hivers women in face-to-face events.

En esta selfie tomada por el buen @alex-rourke (A quien conocí ahí y me dio una vibra muy positiva, es mi tocayo y parece mexicano a lo mejor y lo es, ya saben que los mexicanos nacemos por donde nos da la pinche gana) estamos llegando del aeropuerto al sitio donde estaba ya todo listo para el primer meetup para organizarnos para el día 1 del evento, ahí pude saludar de nuevo a mi bro @eddiespino y a @starkerz @manuphotos @jza que tenía muchas ganas de ver pues ya hacía tiempo que no los veía en persona.

Igual pude conocer a @ecoinstant y @ecoinstante con quienes rápidamente conectamos mi esposa y yo, además de que Ecoinstante y Konchix tenían mucho en común pues dentro del equipo eran las representantes femeninas, yo siempre les bromeaba con el gran peso que tenían a sus espaldas, pero la neta se desenvolvieron muy bien y dejaron muy en alto esa representación femenina de Hive en el evento, mis respetos a las dos y especial reconocimiento, por lo menos en México son las mujeres Hivers pioneras en eventos presenciales.

That same night we went to Bar Sobrio called @elsentidobarsano on the recommendation of my new friend @bobaphet who knows Guadalajara very well, he has very interesting known places that he did not hesitate to share with us, all excellent and in this case El Sentido has for me the best quesadillas of its kind and an exquisite root beer with the attention of its owner Kurt who is a great host.

Esa misma noche fuimos al Bar Sobrio que ya acepta HBD llamado @elsentidobarsano por recomendación de mi nuevo amigo @bobaphet quien conoce Guadalajara muy bien, tiene sitios conocidos muy interesantes que no dudó en compartirnos, todos excelentes y en este caso El Sentido tiene para mi las mejores quesadillas en su tipo y una cerveza de raíz exquisita con la atención de su propietario Kurt quien es un gran anfitrión.

Already with our swag Hive in place, we started on day 1 with our booth number D16 of the Land Developer Land, I have to confess that I was doing some spam and promotion in the whatsapp groups because it was a very easy and free way to invite attendees to the event, although the other days I could not because we were very busy.

The first day I was in 2nd place in the top of new hive-ans integrated, that motivated me but more so was doing onbording to businesses in the event because that was a fundamental part of our strategy to show Distriator and SpendHBD working in its entirety and that new users take the full experience so the first day I was the one who integrated the first business of the event which was La Mesa de Crafteo of the good @holisoyjazz being this the 2nd consecutive year that I do it in the same event.

Ya con nuestro swag Hive bien puesto, comenzamos el día 1 con nuestro stand numero D16 de la Land Developer Land tengo que confesar que estuve haciendo algo de spam y de promoción en los grupos de Whatsapp pues se me hizo una forma muy fácil y sobre todo gratis de invitar a los asistentes al evento, aunque los demás días ya no pude pues estábamos muy ocupados.

El primer día quedé en 2do lugar del top de nuevos hivers integrados, eso me motivó pero mas lo hizo el hacer onbording a negocios en el evento pues eso era parte fundamental de nuestra estrategia para poder mostrar Distriator y SpendHBD funcionando en su totalidad y que los nuevos usuarios se lleven la experiencia completa así que el primer día fui el que integró el primer negocio del evento que fue La Mesa de Crafteo del buen @holisoyjazz siendo este el 2do año consecutivo que lo hago en el mismo evento.

I also had the opportunity to talk with very emblematic members of the crypto world, like my friend @josepimpo who was at the event and outside the event being always the best host in Guadalajara as always, Pimpo is a great guy.

También tuve oportunidad de platicar con miembros muy emblemáticos del mundo crypto, como mi amigo @josepimpo quién estuvo en el evento y fuera de el siendo siempre el mejor anfitrión en Guadalajara como siempre, Pimpo es un tipazo.

I don't have the exact number but I know that at least 7 businesses were integrated to HBD payments among them the Berlins Bretzel Wagen you see in the pictures, where we did an activity for new users to show them how easy it is to pay and collect cashback using HBD.

No tengo la cifra exacta pero se que por lo menos 7 negocios fueron integrados a pagos con HBD entre ellos el Berlins Bretzel Wagen que vez en las fotos, donde hicimos una actividad para nuevos usuarios para mostrarles la forma tan fácil que es pagar y cobrar cashback usando HBD.

The talk given by @starkerz in the MainStage was masterful, after his presentation the Hive booth had an incredible boost with people coming in droves asking to try the new cards with NFC technology, the so called Hive Debit Cards which are in development by our friend from Colombia @jthomasewsky and can already be used, they are crazy.

La platica dada por @starkerz en el MainStage fue magistral, después de su presentación el stand de Hive tuvo un impulso increíble llegando la gente a montones pidiendo probar las nuevas tarjetas con tecnología NFC las sonadas Hive Debit Cards las cuales están en desarrollo por nuestro amigo de Colombia @jthomasewsky y ya se pueden usar, son una locura.

Everything went smoothly, I even believe that we solved as a team together as all cracks certain obstacles along the way but Talent Land 2025 was a success for Hive, as a final part I share with you some last paragraphs where I give feedback and share some of my numbers achieved in this great event.

Todo ha salido a pedir de boca, incluso creo que resolvimos como equipo juntos como todos unos cracks ciertos obstáculos en el camino pero Talent Land 2025 fue un éxito para Hive, como parte final les comparto unos últimos párrafos donde doy feedback y comparto algunos de mis números logrados en este gran evento.

Feedback + Resultados Personales

This feedback is to continue improving in future events, as a first point I would like to mention that I knew that the internet at Expo Guadalajara is very weak because I already had the experience of the previous year, so I brought two phones with different Mexican telephone companies and it was not enough because in some cases of onboarding with people I shared data with them and even then we could not finish the process, I think it would be good next year to have our own internet in the booth, that would give more fluidity to everything.

I also think that the team could increase next year with possible new hive-ans included this year, but we could also bring some more Latin flavor and versatility, like inviting notable hive-ans from Venezuela, Argentina, Ecuador and others where Hive already has great growth.

On the other hand the team that was formed this time was great, but to my humble way of thinking it would have been better to have among the assistants delegated certain specific functions according to their skills and attitudes, for example to have a small communication crew within the same team that is dedicated to record and do interviews, another to only onboarding maybe divided into 2 teams to rotate them 2 shifts and thus have more covered certain points and that we are more rested because the last day I almost had no voice.

Here are some of my numbers that I achieved in this Talent Land 2025:

Total number of people integrated to Hive 17 with the Talent Land exclusive selfie app as you can see in the count that @eddiespino has and that I confirmed manually.

I also did onboarding of 3 businesses in the Expo Guadalajara that as I mentioned before were an important part to complete the full crypto experience that we wanted the new users to take with them, below is a screenshot of the businesses already integrated to Distriator.

Esta retroalimentación es para seguir mejorando en próximos eventos, como primer punto me gustaría mencionar que yo sabía que el internet en la Expo Guadalajara es muy débil pues ya tenía yo la experiencia del año anterior, así que llevé dos teléfonos con diferentes compañías telefónicas mexicanas y no fue suficiente pues en algunos casos de onboarding con las personas yo les compartía datos y ni así lográbamos terminar el proceso, creo sería bueno el próximo años tener nuestro propio internet en el stand, eso daría mas fluidez a todo.

También pienso que el equipo podría aumentar el próximo año con posibles nuevos hivers incluidos este año, pero también podríamos traer algo mas de sabor y versatilidad latina, como invitar hivers notables de Venezuela, Argentina, Ecuador y otros mas donde Hive ya tiene gran crecimiento.

Por otro lado el equipo que se conformó esta vez fue genial, pero a mi humilde manera de pensar hubiera sido mejor tener entre los asistentes delegadas ciertas funciones especificas según sus aptitudes y actitudes por ejemplo tener un pequeño crew de comunicación dentro del mismo equipo que se dedique a grabar y hacer entrevistas, otro a solo onboarding talvez dividido en 2 equipos para rotarlos 2 turnos y así tener mas cubiertos ciertos puntos y que estemos mas descansados porque el ultimo día ya casi yo no tenía voz.

También hice onboarding de 3 negocios en la Expo Guadalajara que como ya mencioné fueron parte importante para poder completar la experiencia crypto completa que queríamos que los nuevos usuarios se lleven, a continuación dejo captura de los negocios ya integrados a Distriator.

We also met @eddiespino and I at the event @mcbro who is academic leader of new interactive technologies at the University Amerike with 500 students in campus GDL, 700 in CDMX, 100 in EdoMex in addition to being a university teacher of IA, VA, SE in CETI (university), 400 students a year.

On Tuesday Eddie and I had a Google Meet with him where we made his account and gave him information about the first steps in Hive to create the community of the University where he works and begin to create his team that will moderate the community of his school as well as we will plan his onboarding system.

También hemos conocido @eddiespino y yo en el evento a @mcbro quien es Líder académico de nuevas tecnologías interactivas en la Universidad Amerike con 500 alumnos en campus GDL, 700 en CDMX, 100 en EdoMex además de ser Docente universitario de IA, VA, SE en CETI (universidad), 400 estudiantes al año.

Con él tuvimos el martes Eddie y yo ya un Google Meet donde hicimos su cuenta y le dimos información sobre los primeros pasos en Hive para próximamente ya con cita reservada para crear la comunidad de la Universidad donde el trabaja y comenzar a crear a su equipo de trabajo que va a moderar la comunidad de su escuela así como planearemos su sistema de onboarding.
