Brick by brick, we’re getting closer!
Hello, D.Buzz development enthusiasts!
Castles have been around for centuries, and many are still standing today. But how were these massive structures built? The answer is brick by brick. Every brick was placed with care and precision, forming the strong walls that we see today.
At D.Buzz, we are also (*metaphorically) laying the walls of the Buzz castle brick by brick, with great care to ensure this platform will stand the test of time.
This week, we are pumped to say we are so, so close to rolling out the Ceramic Network on our testnet and ushering in the D.Buzz Lite platform.
In a lot of ways, this will be a HUGE milestone for us here, and we hope for Hive as a whole. The ability to use a Hive frontend without a Hive account is sorta epic. This way, users can try out a front end, understand it, then, in time, work into having a full on Hive account. Think about it - just how cool is that?
Our lead developer has been hard at work, laying the bricks for this new epic castle that we will soon be rolling out for Hive. Just a little longer and it will be ready for you to test!
The functionalities for logging in, posting, and setting up profile are ready. We are currently working on the user feed functionality. If all goes according to our burndown chart, we will deploy the Ceramic Network to the testnet (https://next.d.buzz/) by the end of the week.
This week's progress
Let's talk about improvements
Video thumbnails for other frontends. While not the final solution for this, a placeholder image for now will be displayed, directing visitors to view the video on D.Buzz. We will be developing an API and a static screen grab for other Hive frontends to use in the future, but for now, a stock image is the solution. We hope it is okay. Please note that we are also aware of a linking bug on other frontends (Video link to Buzz link) and will publish a fix for this today or tomorrow.
- D.Buzz Pockets feature has been published on the main network.
- Login with Hive Auth has been updated on the main network.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed HAS post, comment and vote reports success even if rejected on Hive Keychain
- Fixed comment loading not stopping
- Fixed buzz publishing with null link
- Few minor bug fixes and improvements to make D.Buzz even better
Hiring a new developer
This process is ongoing and we are actively interviewing. We anticipate that by this time next week to have a few strong candidates to move into the second phase of interviewing.
The process of construction is a gradual and meticulous one, whether we're talking about the construction of a great castle or the construction of a successful dapp. We have to lay the foundation, brick by brick, and then build upon that foundation until we have reached our desired goal. It's a slow and steady process, but it's one that is well worth the effort in the end.
Cheers!
