LITE goes live on Friday!
Hello, D.Buzz development enthusiasts!
It is ready!
We are happy to say that on Friday the 10th, we will be rolling out onto Next.D.Buzz the LITE framework!!!
The internet is at crossroads. Will it be an open and free platform for all, or will it be controlled by a select few? The answer lies in decentralization. By decentralizing the internet, we can ensure that it remains open and accessible to all. This is why decentralization is key to an open and free internet. We hope LITE will help it become more decentralized.
The LITE framework, despite its name, is anything but lite. This revolution will enable users to log in to DBuzz and post to DBuzz without the need for a Hive account. The biggest difference is that if you have a LITE account running, at this time, you will not receive rewards.
This has been a development cycle that we started way back on March 15, 2022. You can read the announcement post here. Over the last 3 months of development, we have encountered many hurdles and issues. However, the outstanding dev team crushed them all. This will also be the future base for DBuzz and its next initiatives.
Last week, we finished up a few key features, pushing us ahead of the burndown chart a bit. We finished developing these features.
• Commenting Functionality (Complete)
• Follow / Unfollow Functionality (Complete)
• Following Feed on the Home page (Complete)
• Improved profile editing (Complete)
• Improved signup process (Now, it asks for a user name if the user does not exist and is logging for the first time) (Complete)
We still have a few items to finish up. But bearing any surprise roadblocks, when you go to Next.D.Buzz on Friday, you will see the option to log in with MetaMask, and the age of LITE will be here.
After LITE has started its public testing phase, we will be looking into the backlog of outstanding bug issues. Several of the 2 biggest issues we will be working on will be the issues with the Video feature, and ways to serve content more quickly to our users. We will be addressing these issues and more to push DBuzz into primetime.
Along with this, we have another project that is starting to take shape and one we are VERY excited about, which we will share with you all soon.
If you have a podcast or tech blog and would like to talk about this platform, let us know.
Thank you for your time.
Also, we would again like to thank the full @threespeak team for their help with the LITE platform - @vaultec and the full crew are fantastic. They have been integral in the LITE framework development to date.
If you don't know about the SPK network, we recommend you learn more about it today at https://spk.network/
