Having fun with Data - 13k MAU - I don't know!

As some of you already know, I'm currently trying out the wonderful Github Copilot to improve my programming skills and I have to say that it's working really well. As I've been in IT for a very long time, some things are perhaps easier for me than others. And this morning I thought to myself that I would like to write another little helper script - ideally for Hive, as I like to develop things here. I thought to myself that I could actually ask a few questions about things that are not really transparent here. I thought to myself, since Inleo is currently advertising that they have managed to have 13,000 active people interacting on Inleo who actively participate in the community life every month. So I sat down and started by looking at the accounts created by the leo.voter account in 2024. This was actually quite simple, as I used the hafSQL connection to @mahdiyari again. Using the following SQL command I got a nice list of 18,531 hive accounts and thought to myself - WOW! That's really a lot of accounts in a whole year on one service alone and InLeo managed to onboard the masses. I used the following SQL command:

Ok, I thought to myself - that worked! Now I have valid data and I can start building a frontend so that I have a control command line or simply a dashboard with which I can push my beautiful data back and forth. No sooner said than done! I launched Visual Studio Code, gave Github Copilot a few treats as a reward for a job well done and off I went. I told the Copilot that I wanted to have a dashboard that analyzes and processes the data from the json so that I can take a closer look at what actually happened in the whole year 2024 with the accounts created by leo.voter. After a few lines, the first dashboard was ready - by either 1) uploading my json file or 2) entering a specific date from and to and then querying the hafSQL database. Then at 3) the data is displayed in a diagram, depending on the month how many users were onboarded.

Ok, based on this data you can of course make further great queries with hafSQL to maybe find out a few more details about what the accounts did on the blockchain and how long they were really active - yes, I know - this is only based on data created using leo.voter accounts but even that alone should provide interesting data - as this is the main onboarding point at Inleo. So let's summarize the actual numbers of onboarded users created in 2024 broken down to months:

As I don't want to make this post too long, I'm only highlighting the data that I found in December 2024. I wanted to find out how active, i.e. how many interactions individual users have made - and I am only counting the “comments” here, as this is the main activity at Inleo - so rather the threading which is technically just a comment. So based on the data I found, I can say here that out of 6544 accounts created, only 3486 accounts have had at least one interaction - the remaining 3058 accounts have unfortunately not written a comment and are unfortunately not included in these statistics - but hey, your time will certainly come in 2025 to actively participate in the ecosystem. Be that as it may - of the 3486 accounts that have carried out at least one interaction, 2557 have actually only carried out one interaction. Just 308 accounts carried out exactly 2 interactions. Only 70 accounts thought that all good things come in threes. So 70 only interacted with Inleo or the Hive Community 3 times.

62 accounts have interacted exactly 4 times. What's amazing is that 121 accounts interacted exactly 5 times in December - probably because of the referral bonuses. This leaves only 368 accounts that have interacted more than 5 times. At this point, there is only one person to congratulate: @iamctgroot You made a lot of great interactions in December at Inleo. Congratulations

But what do we learn from these statistics, which anyone can more or less call up and think about?

Well, we actually want more people like these people, people who believe in the platform, the ecosystem and buy HIVE, who are actively involved and feel comfortable in our hive ecosystem. People like these - who were onboarded by the leo.voter in the course of 2024 and have built up a fine HIVE Power Balance:

Why am I doing this here?

Ey, very simple... I like to tinker - I like to question things that are obvious, I enjoy programming and I like to educate myself. When I'm not hacking frontends or looking for and finding security vulnerabilities in webpages / servers, I like to educate myself to become faster and more effective. Of course, it's quite possible that I'm being portrayed as an absolute asshole here again - but hey, numbers don't lie and I just want a lot more transparency in our Hive blockchain projects - be it about money that is paid to projects from the DHF or frontends that don't make their source code 100% public. In any case, I won't tire of continuing my research and pointing out anything I notice.
