Después de una semana llena de wedding vibes (porque sí, una de mis mejores amigas se casó y fue precioso💍✨), me quedé con el corazón inspirado, el playlist romántico en bucle y varias preguntas rondando la cabeza, especialmente: ¿cómo vive cada una de nosotras la idea del amor y el compromiso?🌸 Por eso, en esta nueva publicación, quise traer tres preguntitas para abrir la conversación; de esas que te hacen pensar, reírte un poco y, con suerte, compartir tu versión más honesta del amor, y del matrimonio🩷
After a week full of wedding vibes (because yes, one of my best friends got married and it was beautiful💍✨), I was left with my heart inspired, the romantic playlist on loop and several questions hanging over my head, especially: how do each of us live the idea of love and commitment? 🌸 That's why, in this new post, I wanted to bring three little questions to open the conversation; the kind that make you think, laugh a little and, hopefully, share your most honest version of love, and marriage🌸
La verdad, yo era de esas niñas que decían que "no se iban a casar", muy en su fase independiente y con cero ganas de usar velo. Pero si soy sincera, también era la misma niña que madrugó para ver la boda del Príncipe William y Kate, y que amaba (ama) las comedias románticas. Así que, aunque no soñaba apasionadamente con caminar al altar, sí había en mí una semillita romántica que disfrutaba el amor... aunque sea con lente de película🤭
Con el tiempo, esa visión no se ha ido a ningún extremo. Nunca he idealizado el matrimonio, pero tampoco lo he rechazado. Lo veo como un «sueño posible», algo que podría pasar... si aparece la persona adecuada. Y eso para mí es clave: no planeo casarme algún día solo porque "toca", sino porque de verdad sienta que quiero construir algo con alguien. Tal vez suene loco, pero creo que puedes amar a alguien sin necesariamente querer casarte con esa persona. Por ende, para mí la posibilidad yace en que un día alguien me inspire a dar ese paso con ilusión y certeza, que esté segura de mi decisión, que me dé la valentía de dar ese salto, y que no haya ninguna duda en formar esa alianza.
💍Have you always dreamed of getting married? Was it an idea that came to you over the years? Or has it not yet arrived?💍 Truth be told, I was one of those girls who said they were “not getting married”, very much in their independent phase and with zero desire to wear a veil. But if I'm being honest, I was also the same little girl who got up early to watch Prince William and Kate's wedding, and who loved (loves) romantic comedies. So, although I didn't dream passionately of walking down the aisle, there was a little romantic seed in me that enjoyed love... even if it was with a movie lens🤭
Over time, that view has not gone to any extreme. I've never idealized marriage, but I've never rejected it either. I see it as a «possible dream», something that could happen... if the right person comes along. And that for me is key: I don't plan to get married someday just because “it's my turn”, but because I really feel I want to build something with someone. Maybe it sounds crazy, but I believe that you can love someone without necessarily wanting to marry that person. Therefore, for me, the possibility lies in someone inspiring me to take that step one day with enthusiasm and certainty, that I feel sure of my decision, that gives me the courage to take that leap, and that there is no doubt in forming that alliance.
Si tuviera que organizar mi boda mañana, lo que más me emocionaría sería la ubicación✨ Porque, seamos sinceros, el lugar es el corazón de la boda. La decoración, el ambiente, el vestido, hasta la comida: todo gira alrededor de ese espacio. Cuando hay una boda, lo primero que me fijo es en el lugar donde se celebró. El lugar perfecto puede transformar una boda normal en al memorable🌷
Ahora, si me dicen "¡a la pista de baile!"... obvio, hay que montar una buena coreografía. No hay nada como soltar los pasos prohibidos de baile, acompañados de una playlist épica y, por supuesto, un buen fotógrafo para capturar el momento. Si me pones a elegir entre hacer un brindis emotivo o bailar hasta el amanecer... escogería la segunda opción.
🥂What excites you most about a wedding?🥂 If I had to organize my wedding tomorrow, what I would be most excited about would be the location✨ Because, let's face it, the place is the heart of the wedding. The decor, the ambiance, the dress, even the food: everything revolves around that space. When there's a wedding, the first thing I look at is the place where it was held. The perfect venue can transform an ordinary wedding into a memorable one🌷.
Now, if you say to me “to the dance floor!”... obviously, you have to set up a good choreography. There's nothing like dropping forbidden dance steps, accompanied by an epic playlist and, of course, a good photographer to capture the moment. If you give me the choice between making an emotional toast or dancing until dawn... I would choose the second option.
Mi padre siempre me repite: "Tú eres alguien con metas y sueños, que trabaja por lo que desea; así que debes estar con alguien que comparta esa misma visión y te apoye a conseguirlo". Por otro lado, mi mamá siempre me ha dicho: "Tienes que estar con alguien que te sume en la vida, nunca que te reste". Cuando era adolescente, incluso comenzando mis 20's, esos consejos quizá no calaban muy profundo, pero hoy se han convertido en mi lema de vida.
Esa idea sobre el amor —no solo estar con alguien porque tengan cosas en común, sino con alguien que te permita avanzar— me ayudó a poner los pies en la tierra. Porque sí, soy una enamorada del amor, pero es importante saber lo que quieres y necesitas, y aprender a filtrar. Así que antes de dar ese "sí, acepto", me preguntaría: "¿Esta persona realmente suma a mi vida? ¿Me acompaña, me apoya y me impulsa?" Si mi vida sería igual o mejor sin él, entonces definitivamente no me acercaría al altar.
🌸What is that one love tip that would get you closer to the altar?🌸 My father always repeats to me: “You are someone with goals and dreams, who works for what you want; so you have to be with someone who shares that same vision and supports you in achieving it”. On the other hand, my mom has always told me, “You have to be with someone who will add to your life, never subtract from it.” When I was a teenager, even in my early 20's, that advice may not have resonated very deeply, but today it has become my life motto.
That idea about love -not just being with someone because you have things in common, but with someone who allows you to move forward- helped me get my feet on the ground. Because yes, I'm in love with love, but it's important to know what you want and need, and learn to filter. So before I give that “yes, I do,” I would ask myself, “Does this person really add to my life? Does he accompany me, support me, and push me?” If my life would be the same or better without him, then I would definitely stay away from the altar.
