Muchas veces elegirnos por encima de los demás es algo que cuesta mucho hacer, claro, para aquellos que solemos dejarnos de lado por costumbre, por una u otra razón. En muchas ocasiones, el dejar la rutina para elegirme a mí y poder vivir experiencias nuevas fue la puerta a muchas cosas hace algunos años, y es que siempre me ha costado hacer esa elección, no tanto porque no quiera, sino más bien por el entorno, lo cual hasta cierto punto cruza una línea entre esa costumbre y lo que es la obligación.
Un ejemplo de esto fue a los 19 y a los 20 años, donde en primera, por varios motivos, terminé mudándome a casa de mi abuela por dos años, lo cual puede no ser una lección tan drástica, puesto que ya había pasado vacaciones allí de niña y iba con frecuencia, pero la cosa es que esto fue una lección hacia mí misma, puesto que en esos años estaba teniendo muchos inconvenientes para vivir en casa de mi mamá y con el tema de estudios y comprensión, por lo que elegir por mí e ir allá fue una aventura total, ya que aunque quedaba lejos, pero lejos de la universidad, y tenía que hacer algunas cosas, el ambiente me permitió progresar y tener resultados positivos.
Y esto justo fue lo que hizo que a los 20 tomara la decisión de vivir sola, de lo cual en algunos posts he contado. El tema con elección propia acá es lo siguiente: en mi familia, aparte de que ya he dicho que, aparte de llevarnos bien y haber una convivencia tranquila, la cosa es que todos siempre están allí, y el tema de que alguien se aleje o viva solo es algo muy tabú. Es complicado, pero es como una obligación siempre estar allí y, en lo personal, nunca ha sido del todo de mi agrado, por lo que cuando comencé a vivir sola, aparte de ver un nuevo panorama que me gustó (hasta que tuve que regresar), fue algo que me dio un plus de libertad, aunque claro, fue todo un caos en mi familia.
La cosa es que elegir por mí y para mí es pasar por encima de las expectativas y costumbres de tanto familiares como mis padres; incluso es muchas veces pasar por esas persuasiones o intentos de volver a caer y evitar que hagamos esa aleccion , muchas veces senti que era como un apego incluso actualmente podria decirse que tengo esa sensacion en mi entorno por lo que tengo que constantemente estar dee nuevo en esa dualidad de eleguirme y elegirlos y entrar o tener mis propias aspiraciones y metas .
Por eso es que en varios aspectos de mi vida he impuesto esa regla de elegir por mí aunque sepa que me va a doler. Por ejemplo, otro de los momentos donde lo he aplicado ha sido en mis relaciones. A ver, yo soy de querer mucho o de incluso dar más de lo que debería para hacer feliz, pero en ocasiones han jugado tanto con eso que he llegado a elegirme a mí, luego de mucho, y es esa sensación de "atrás ni para coger impulso", y aunque suelo actuar algo tardío, al final termino velando por mí, dándome la prioridad que necesito.
Elegir por mí no es algo que pueda hacer a la ligera, como han visto, pero a medida que pasa el tiempo se ha vuelto algo que puedo llegar a tener en mente muy seguido y poner en práctica, por lo que sí, en efecto, es de las cosas donde trabajo y sigo trabajando. Así que, sin más, este es mi pequeño aporte para este tema que nos trae @syllem en esta ocasión.

Often, choosing ourselves over others is a difficult thing to do, of course, for those of us who tend to put ourselves aside out of habit, for one reason or another. Often, leaving routine to choose myself and live new experiences opened the door to many things a few years ago. It's always been difficult for me to make that choice, not so much because I don't want to, but rather because of my surroundings, which to some extent crosses a line between habit and obligation.
An example of this was when I was 19 and 20, when, for various reasons, I ended up moving to my grandmother's house for two years. This may not be such a drastic lesson, since I had already spent vacations there as a child and went there frequently. But the thing is, this was a lesson for myself, since during those years I was having a lot of trouble living at my mom's house and with the issue of studies and comprehension, so choosing for myself and going there was a total adventure. Although it was far, far from the university, and I had some things to do, the environment allowed me to progress and achieve positive results.
And this is precisely what made me decide to live alone at 20, which I've talked about in a few posts. The issue with my own choice here is the following: in my family, aside from what I've already said, aside from getting along and having a peaceful coexistence, the thing is that everyone is always there, and the subject of someone moving away or living alone is something very taboo. It's complicated, but it's like an obligation to always be there, and, personally, it's never been entirely my cup of tea. So when I started living alone, aside from seeing a new perspective that I liked (until I had to return), it was something that gave me a boost of freedom, although, of course, it was a complete mess in my family.
The thing is, choosing for myself and for me means overcoming the expectations and customs of both family members and my parents. It often means going through those persuasions or attempts to make me fall back and prevent us from making that choice. I often felt it was like an attachment. Even today, you could say I still have that feeling in my surroundings, so I have to constantly revert to that duality of choosing myself and them, and entering into or having my own aspirations and goals.
That's why, in various aspects of my life, I've imposed this rule of choosing for myself, even though I know it will hurt. For example, another time I've applied it has been in my relationships. Look, I tend to love a lot, or even give more than I should to make people happy, but sometimes they've played with that so much that I've ended up choosing myself, after a long time, and it's that feeling of "not even being able to take a run at it." And although I tend to act a little late, I end up looking out for myself, giving myself the priority I need.
Choosing for myself isn't something I can do lightly, as you've seen, but as time goes by, it's become something I can keep in mind very often and put into practice, so yes, indeed, it's one of the things I work on and continue to work on.
