Hello...
It's my first time posting in the community and I hope I'm welcomed here.
I have always admired art and craft and any form of it, which is why I try to pursue my passion as much as I can which is sewing..on the other hand, a makeup artist, which only a few people knows about.
In my country, many people make a living from doing minimal makeup on people and even doing glamourous makeovers for brides and their families so I thought of acquiring such skills to top up my craft.
A few years ago, after making a dress for my client, I jokingly informed her that I was a make-up artist as well and to my great surprise, a month later, the lady called me to ask if it could make her daughter up for her Prom.
That was my first professional job at that time, did I believe in myself? Yes, of course, I decided to accept the offer which came just as a surprise.
The prom was to begin by 6 pm, and so the lady invited me to her house by 5:00 pm, it was the fastest makeover I had ever done.
I went with my make-up kit and some of the things in there were my brushes, powder palettes and eye shadow palettes.
So I started the process by cleaning off the heat or dirt on her face using wipes and then applying a face primer to help her face absorb the makeup then I began the artistry on her face, which was carving her eyebrow and drawing an eyebrow.
Since it was a prom, her mom told me she didn't want the make-up to be loud, just something light yet beautiful and I understood the assignment.
I used a very neutral eye shadow and made her eyes look classy yet simple and I applied foundation, and face powder to match her skin tone and then a little blush, lippie, gloss and highlighted and contoured her face.
Halfway down the makeup, Her mom was already admiring her daughter and I felt good about it.
After I was done with the makeover, I styled her naturally using fancy pins to make her look very classy for her date as her date was to arrive in a jiffy.
We began our photo session and it was fulfilled, she was such a very beautiful teenager, her smiles were charming and her eyes were the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
She had a natural long lash so we didn't attach any artificial lashes to that, I only spiced it up using mascara.
As soon as she wore her dress, she looked even more beautiful.
She was a picture freak, as she wouldn't stop taking pictures upon pictures.
And her smiles said it all.."I love my look," This opened more opportunities for me to meet another client through her, and her mom.
I was about to pack my stuff when her date arrived for the prom, the boy wasn't looking bad at all, he was such a fine gentle lad.
I couldn't take pictures of him, but they both looked good together.
Here we made a video which I turned into a GIF.
As I was looking through my archive, I found them and thought of sharing a talent from years ago when I hadn't learned about Hive.
What do you think about it?
All images and GIFs used are mine.
