While studying the Bible this morning, I came across a powerful lesson about unity that really made me think.
In Genesis 11:6 (KJV), God said:
“Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.”
This verse is part of the story of the Tower of Babel. The people were building a city and a tower that reached toward heaven. Even though their mission was not pleasing to God, He still recognized something important: because they were united, speaking the same language and working together, nothing they planned was beyond their reach.
That tells us something very important: unity brings strength and success.
When people come together with a shared goal, they can accomplish so much more than when they are divided.
This is true for:
Families-When family members support each other and work as a team, they create a peaceful and strong home.
Communities-When neighbours look out for one another, they build safer and more caring environments.
Nations-When citizens put aside their differences to focus on progress, countries grow and improve.
But when there is division, progress becomes difficult. Disagreement, selfishness, and lack of cooperation slow everything down.
That is why it is so important for us to build unity wherever we are. Whether it is at home, at work, in church, or in the community, we should try to listen, understand one another, and work together.
If we stay united, there is very little we cannot achieve.
This is my reflection on my early morning encounter with the scripture.
