Good Day My Fellow Splinterlands Battle Mage
As usual, new week means we will have a new theme for our The Battle Mage Secret challenge. As for this one, we have the holy protection ruleset.
Holy protection will give all units on the battlefield a Divine Shield ability. This ability will negate all first damage their receive.
All units gain the Divine Shield ability which reduces the damage of the first attack received to 0. There are plenty of ways to play during this ruleset, but for me there is a golden rule that I need to follow during this ruleset... which is to bring the maximum number of units I could get into my line up.
This golden rule, as I said golden rule, is almost work in all situation. It doesn't mean that this is the holy grail meta, but mostly it works because the more units you have, the more divine shield ability you have on your line up.
Ok let see the battle to make this simple!
THE BATTLE
Ok this was the battle I had been looking for, because the ruleset could explain what I have said about get as many units you can...
17 mana cap and Five Alive... This was a hard combination, why would you need 5 units for a 17 mana cap battle anyway. However due to Holy Protection ruleset everything changed here. I needed to get 5 guys working on the war zone.
It's hard to get any meta work with 5 small guys, however that's my golden rule on Holy Protection ruleset. Get 5 units, let the ruleset works for you,
Let see how this would go then...
Round 2 started with both team had not suffered any lost yet... Wait, Round 2? yes because we had no buff or debuff in this battle. As I said above, it's hard to get a good team with good meta with the ruleset combination, so just get the most units I could get onto the battle field.
They lost their Merdaali Guardian in this round and I lost my Hardy Stone Fish. However this made a condition into 1 vs 4, not good for them.
Round 3 was the last, my Tide bitter moved first and ended this battle. Good Game
CLOSURE AND DISCUSSION
Ok That's a quick battle and I won significantly. I won because I used my golden rule, which was having as many units and it worked well. Why did it work?
- The more unit you have, the more divine shield you have on your team which means the more incoming attacks that will be negated.
- The more unit you have, the more attacks you deliver and some of those attacks will be negated by opponent's Divine Shield. So if you don't want to lose any momentum, you need to attack more. My opponent have the right approach by having a double strike ability. Double Strike and Blast are good ability to counter this ruleset, because they will stripe the divine shield better.
And some additional input, sometime we better to go gangho having everyone attacking, rather than defending during a weird or irregular combination of rulesets. If my opponent did not choose Merdaali Guardian, let say having more meat walls behind or maybe 2 more attacking units, the battle would be more evenly balance.
