This past week, I created Hive’s first official job posting. I am thrilled to report that, out of this posting, came not only one job – but two jobs! Indeed, I had a few applicants, and I managed to create an additional job for one of them. Both are data entry/reporting jobs, one of which was for the FreeCompliments Community, and the other for my personal account. Both jobs have potential for additional duties, raises, and bonuses.
Using the HSBI (Hive Stake-Based Income) model to pay employees allows them to receive permanent income as long as they keep creating posts. This means that even if they work for only a month or so, they’ll have a lifetime income, in the form of votes, as a result of the HSBI Units they receive, provided they keep posting to Hive.
Now, I am creating another position with a slightly different payment structure, but also utilizing HSBI. It will also exemplify the spirit of the FreeCompliments’ community’s goals to spread joy throughout Hive.
The Job
This job will be done on a consistent basis, with payment delivered on the basis of performance. You will act as the Promotional Compliment Writer for the FreeCompliments community, similar to what I currently do.
Across a variety of Hive posts, write compliments directly related to the topic at hand.
At the end of your comment, in subtext, include a link promoting the FreeCompliments community.
Continue engagement if the author to whom you replied reciprocates or expressed interest.
Avoid spamming: the compliments must be genuine, relevant, and unique.
Record the comments in which you promote FreeCompliments, and record whether any of the people with whom you interact join the community.
Send me the above information (preferably via Discord) so that I can determine the payment you’ll receive.
Performing the aforementioned tasks on a consistent basis.
Examples will be provided for reference when the employee is hired.
The payment offer
For every 5 comments that follow the above guidelines, containing a promotion to join the FreeCompliments community, you will receive 1 HSBI Unit. For every member that you manage to bring aboard the community, you will receive 2 HSBI Units. High quality compliments will receive additional HSBI Units.
Thus, this payment structure is entirely performance-based, as opposed to a traditional income which is paid in time intervals. It also permits more freedom in terms of when you can perform this work. However, in order to avoid prolonged periods of inactivity, it is important for me to know that you will still be able to perform this line of work on a consistent basis. We can negotiate this in our discussion, although I would expect an absolute minimum of 7 promotional comments per week.
Negotiations about payment are also on the table, provided you deliver consistently excellent work.
Continuing to build Hive’s economy by adding different types of jobs
The additional creation of jobs with various structures permits the expanding use case of Hive as a payment for services, in line with Hive’s function as a medium of exchange. Creating multiple types of jobs using a similar payment system provides an initial basis for what can be considered a fair payment, thus establishing Hive as a unit of account. The more jobs are created with Hive, the more we will validate its practical value. Once this happens, we will more readily be able to establish a consistent value of assets in terms of Hive, since it will be attached to work requirements; this will establish Hive’s store of value. Combining all of these factors will turn Hive into functional money.
An economy must be built upon functional money. This is why we must take steps to ensure that Hive can, indeed, function as intended. Let’s continue creating different types of jobs and establish Hive’s practical value with practical use cases.
Conclusion
In order to help the FreeCompliments and help continue the validation of Hive and HBD as valid forms of money, this is a job posting using HSBI with a different purpose and, thus, a different structure of payment. Let’s continue building both the community and bringing value to the Hive economy.
What do you think of this job posting? Is the payment offer fair, and are there other positions that you think would help support this community’s growth?
I would love to hear any and all opinions about these topics from everyone who is currently a member of FreeCompliments, since you’re all inaugural members! Anyone else who finds this page is also very welcome to voice their opinion. We’re all about free speech, and everyone’s experience has value.
