I want to increase the number of Japanese users on HIVE.
Recently, I have been wanting more people (especially Japanese) to come to Hive.
I was not so concerned about the lack of Japanese people here before. I thought that it was not bad that there were few Japanese, that it was not something I would force myself to recommend, and that people would eventually come here because the Hive system is certainly interesting.
But maybe it's because I started participating in the Leofinance campaign around this spring... For about a month and a half I watched the Leo team people work on various measures to bring new users to Hive and Leo. That led me to believe that I could not just wait and see. I am Japanese so I would like to read more Japanese articles on HIVE! To do so, we need more Japanese to come to this platform.
Conflicts Regarding the Establishment of a New Japanese Language Community
So I have been thinking about creating a Japanese language community for a while now.
“Hive JP" already exists as a Japanese community. Unfortunately, however, it is believed that the administrator has already left Hive. Even though there is no administrator, we can still post, and there are still occasional postings. It was useful when we wanted to write only in Japanese, or when we could not find any other suitable community to post to.
That is fine for existing users. But when trying to invite new Japanese users, the absence of a community manager was not good.
Still, since the Hive JP community was not officially closed (and I'm not even sure if it is possible to close a community in the first place), I was not willing to create a new community with a similar concept.
Furthermore, I am not particularly rich. So creating a new community would not immediately reward participants in a big way. I also wondered if there was any merit in creating a Japanese-language community, given that there are more Japanese users who live overseas and are comfortable writing in English. There were many other reasons why I hesitated to create a new community, and I was not able to take the plunge.
Future Plans
I have been talking to some Hive friends about this recently, and my feelings have been moving in the direction of creating a new Japanese language community. When I talked about this on Leothreads, many of the replies were "Do it".
While still in the conceptual stage, I will probably open a community soon where people can post in Japanese. As for curation and rewards, I find the @freecompliments community's approach to be very helpful. Even if I don't have huge HP, I can reward people with HSBI or Ecency points... but it will be on a smaller scale as I don't have that much money... I remember that Ecency boost was difficult when posting only in Japanese, so I will have to look into that as well.
Many have told me that communities are much more difficult to manage and administer than to create. That may be true. I would like to think of a sustainable way to avoid setbacks.

日本人にもっとHiveに来て欲しい
最近、もっと多くの人に（それも日本人に）Hiveに来て欲しいなーと思うようになりました。
以前はそうでもなかったんですけどね・・・。人が少ないのも悪くない、無理して勧めるものでもないし（勧めても続かないし）、Hiveのしくみが面白いことは確かだから、そのうち人が来るだろう、と呑気に構えていました。
でも、春ごろからLeofinanceのキャンペーンに参加するようになったせいでしょうか。様々な施策でHiveやLeoに新規ユーザーを呼び込もうとするLeoチームの人々を見ていたら、待っているだけで良いのだろうか・・・と考えるようになりました・・・というのは半分は建前で、私がもっとHiveで日本語の投稿を読みたいという気持ちが強くなってきたのかもしれません。
日本語コミュニティの新設をめぐる葛藤
そんなわけでこのところしばらく、日本語（日本人）コミュニティをつくることについて考えていました。
日本人コミュニティとしては既に「Hive JP」がありますが、残念ながら管理者はもうHiveを離れていると思われます。管理者がいなくても投稿はできるので、私も含め今でも時々投稿はあります。日本語だけで書きたいときや、他に投稿先として相応しいコミュニティが見つからない時などには便利でした。
ただ新規の日本人ユーザーを呼ぼうとしたとき、コミュニティの管理者が不在だと、ちょっと呼びにくいんだよなというのは感じていました。
それでも正式にコミュニティが閉じられたわけではないので（そもそもコミュニティをクローズすることができるのかも分からないのですが）似たようなコンセプトのコミュニティを新たにつくることには抵抗がありました。
また私は別にお金があるわけではないただの人なので、コミュニティを作ったからといって参加者に大きな報酬を与えられるわけではありません。海外在住で英語で書ける日本人ユーザーのほうが多い状況で、日本語コミュニティをつくるメリットがあるのかどうかも疑問でした。他にもコミュニティの新設を躊躇する理由は色々あって、なかなか踏み切れずにいました。
いま考えていること
しかし最近何人かのHiveの友人とこの件について話す機会があり、私の気持ちは日本語コミュニティを作る方向に大きく動いています。
やっぱり私はHiveにもっとたくさんの日本人に来て欲しいですし、そのためには稼働している日本語コミュニティがあったほうがいいと思います。Leothreadsでこの件について話した時も、多くの返信は「Do it」でした。
まだぼんやり構想段階ではありますが、近々日本語で投稿できるコミュニティを開設しようと思っています。キュレーションや報酬に関しては、@freecomplimentsコミュニティのやり方を参考にさせていただくかもしれません。HSBIやecencyポイントを使って報酬を付与する方法です… といっても、それほど資金があるわけでもないのでどうしたらいいのかな… ecencyブーストは日本語のみの投稿だと難しかったような記憶があるので、そのあたりも調べてみなくては。
コミュニティの名称はHive ja？Hive Nihongo？何か良い案はあるでしょうか？日本語の言語コードはjaらしいです。そういえばSteemitのかなり初期の頃は、「ja」タグをつけて投稿していた記憶があります。
眠くなってきたのでそろそろ終わりますが😅
コミュニティは作るより、管理・運営する方がよほど難しいと多くの人が言っていました。そうかもしれません。頓挫しないように、持続可能な方法を考えたいと思います。
