King Sulaiman bin Abdul Mulk's brother Hisham bin Abdul Mulk bin Marwan came for Hajj to Baitullah Sharif. During Tawaf, his eyes fell on the ascetic, pious and religious scholar Mr. Salim bin Abdullah who was doing Tawaf of the Kaaba with his shoes in his hands. On them was a cloth and a turban, the value of which did not exceed 13 dirhams.
Salim bin Abdullah said: "I am ashamed of Allah that I spread my hands in front of someone else while in front of his house."
Hearing this, Hisham's face turned red and he felt insulted. When Salim bin Abdullah came out of the Haram, he (Hisham) also left the Haram behind him and came in front of him on the way and started saying, Now you have come out of the House of Allah, if you have any need, tell me.
Salim bin Abdullah said: "Do you mean the worldly need or the hereafter?"
Hisham replied: It is not enough for me to fulfill the last need, but I can definitely fulfill the worldly need... Tell me.
Salim bin Abdullah said: "I did not ask for the world even from the one who owns it (i.e. Allah). Then how can I ask for the world from a person who is not the owner of it himself?" Al-Badaiya and Al-Nahaiya)
