Sometimes it feels like some places in life are empty. Some people, some moments, some dreams... when they are lost, a void is created. Just looking at those voids makes me sad.
But gradually I realized—these voids don't last forever. Maybe it doesn't change suddenly, but over time, something or the other fills those voids. Sometimes it's the love of someone new, sometimes some small joy, and sometimes inner peace.
There was a time when, after a relationship broke up, I felt like nothing would ever be right. It felt like I could never fill that void. But now I understand that life is filled to the brim with small moments like dust and sand. Maybe not like before, but differently beautiful.
I don't have high expectations anymore. I just wait for time. Because I know that this void will be filled one day or another. Maybe a little peace will come while sitting alone with a cup of tea. Or someone's small smile will make me feel better.
These voids have taught me patience. They have taught me that there is a time for everything. And I now understand that empty space does not always mean that it will be empty. Slowly, something or the other accumulates.
I think that the biggest lessons in life come from these empty times. It is during these times that we learn to know ourselves, to love ourselves. So now I no longer suffer from those voids, but rather think that what is not there today, will become something else tomorrow.
