There is something that has never been the favorite of people from the beginning of time, and that is reading. People don't like reading. On average, the number of books a person reads in a year is one, while successful CEO's read more than 40 books in a year.
The thing is that people are lazy that we don't want to work out things for ourselves, which is why video graphic contents are the trend of the moment. In a video, you talk and demonstrate your points plain and clearly that the consumer does not need to think too much to get the point of the content.
For this reason, I think if Hive is to become a household name like we've been dreaming, we need to focus more on the video aspect of content creation. Not that writing articles isn't that effective in capturing audience, but if you want the attention of both the smart CEOs, the average Joe and the dummies, you need to say it and show them everything you are talking about. And the only possible way to do that i through creating videos.
However, for a platform like hive, there are numerous things that might not make Hive become an easy goto when it comes to watching videos…
One is the inflexibility of Hive.
I was having a conversation with our well-known number one champion of engagement @. yesterday that revolved around how we can make hive more fun and entertaining. It was from a post I made yesterday about why hive is boring and not fun compared yo to web 2 platforms.
That was where he mentioned that if we could make Hive as flexible as TikTok and still get to curate and reward users, that would really be a game changer for Hive. After thinking about this, I realized it's the best advice I've heard about how to make Hive a household name in a long time.
I've heard about SEO, influencers, and contests on how to promote hive to the world, but this one is one that I am sure is effective as hell and would be a massive success if we are to get it implemented instead of spending millions of dhf funds on projects that no one don't give a fuck about.
The internet is a wild place to get people's attention, but if you know what people want and know how to get it done, you'll have everyone's attention. TikTok has done it and is still one of the best and most used social media platform out there. Their success shows how it's not only about the content, but also about how the content is easily accessed.
If Hive can have an app that makes it easy for people to post and view videos while getting rewarded for it, I'm sure we are one step closer to mas adoption than we think. But what do I know, these are just my open onions, so it's not like my words matters. Nevertheless, for anyone reading, this is something that can being great value to Hive.
Share your thoughts below. Do you think having a flexible video app like TikTok on Hive is possible or not, and if we do, do you think it's going to make any difference to Hives growth?
