Sometimes we think “bad” is “bad”...
For example, waiting three hours in the emergency room... Well, at least I gave up my seat for an elderly lady... Shortly after 9 o'clock, the moment finally arrived: my name appeared on the display...
Even the lady at the reception desk was “shocked” and said I needed someone to slap me when I told her I lived only 100 meters from the hospital. (She really said that!) She asked why I had only come now... “That's bad,” she said. Considering my leg, but also why I hadn't come earlier. The beginning of my attempt at flirting, “Well, I'm single... I guess I need someone to slap me around...,” she ignored that somehow... (Probably didn't “realize” it... But that's coming! lol)
Manchmal glauben wir "schlimm" sei "schlimm"...
Schon die Dame an der Rezeption war "schockiert" und meint ich bräuchte mal jemanden, der mir eine Backpfeife gibt, als ich sagte, das ich nur 100 Meter vom Krankenhaus entfernt wohne. (Hat sie wirklich gesagt!) Warum ich erst jetzt komme, hat sie gefragt... "Schlimm sei das", sagte sie. In Anbetracht meines Beines, aber auch warum ich nicht früher gekommen bin. Der Beginn meines Flirtversuchs "Naja, ich bin Single... Mir fehlt wohl jemand, der mir Backpfeifen geben kann...", den hat sie irgendwie ignoriert... (Wahrscheinlich ehre nicht "realisiert"... Aber das kommt noch! lol)

Concerns and hopes – a three-hour wait
A three-hour wait. Hoping, worrying... But at least we're in good spirits kind of. (Because being in good spirits is something we can control ourselves! If you lose that, you only have yourself to blame.) A quick side note: there are some things that can't be taken away from you; you give them up yourself, I mean. For example, your own honor, self-respect, and good spirits.
Yesterday, we already had a quote from my collection of quotes that accompany me through life. Another one is:
“Who laughs wins.”
One could ask the question: how long will this quote accompany me in life?...
Bedenken und Hoffnungen - 3 Stunden Wartezeit
3 Stunden Wartezeit. Hoffen, bangen... Immerhin irgendwie in guter Laune. (Weil gute Laune haben wir selbst in der Hand! Wer die verliert, der ist selber schuld.) Kurze Randnotiz: ein paar Dinge können einem nicht genommen werden; man gibt sie auf, meine ich. Zum Beispiel die eigene Ehre, Selbstachtung und auch gute Laune.
Wir hatten gestern schon einen Satz aus der Sammlung meiner Sätze, welche mich durch mein Leben begleiten. Ein weiterer ist:
"Wer lacht, gewinnt."
Die Frage könnte man stellen: wie lange wird mich dieser Satz noch im Leben begleiten?...

The doctor found the situation no less amusing...
So, after the three-hour wait was over and the doctor had seen my leg, she made the same comment: “That doesn't look good...” After a thorough examination, she called a colleague. Another doctor, as I later saw on his name tag... who then came right away. At least I was able to answer “no” to some of her questions when she wanted to clarify how critical the situation was in detail...
After both of them had examined me, they turned to each other and talked for two or three minutes. It felt like hours somehow... I didn't understand much of the dialogue between the two of them, as they spoke very quickly and obviously used technical terms that I didn't know. But somehow it sounded “strange”... A brief thought crossed my mind: “I hope they're just discussing what to order for lunch.”
The doctor who had been called in then left the room and the female doctor wanted to talk to me again. And I think it was at that moment, when our eyes met, she looked at me, nodded thoughtfully, and lowered her eyes... we both paused for a moment...
Die Ärztin fand die Situation nicht weniger lustig...
Nachdem also die 3 Stunden Wartezeit vorbei waren und die Ärztin mein Bein gesehen hat, der gleiche Kommentar: "Das sieht nicht gut aus..."Nach einer ausgiebigen Untersuchung, hat sie einen Kollegen angerufen. Ein weiterer Arzt, wie ich später am Namensschild sehen konnte... der dann auch gleich gekommen ist. Immerhin konnte ich auf manche Fragen mit "Nein" antworten, als sie abklären wollte, wie kritisch die Situation im Detail ist...
Nachdem beide mich betrachtet haben, haben sie sich einander zugewandt und 2, 3 Minuten miteinander gesprochen. Es kam mir vor wie Stunden irgendwie... Ich habe von dem Dialog zwischen den beiden nicht viel verstanden, da sie sehr schnell gesprochen haben und offensichtlich Fachworte benutzt haben, die ich nicht kenne. Aber irgendwie klang das "komisch"... Ein kurzer Gedanke war "Hoffentlich besprechen sie nur, was sie sich in der Mittagspause bestellen."
Der hinzugerufene Arzt hat dann den Raum verlassen und die Ärztin wollte wieder zu mir sprechen. Und ich glaube, es war in diesem Moment; als sich unsere Blicke trafen, sie mich angeschaut hat, bedächtig genickt hat und die Augen senkte ... wir beide kurz inne gehalten haben...

We were both aware (I think) that I was going to die...
Sure! At some point in old age or something. At 80 or 90 or so. But now I'm 39. That's still a few years away... But at some point, sure. You, me, all of us. The other doctor probably too. That's just how it is. But I am going for analysis now; to give a “body fluid” sample. And then we'll see... ;-)

Sicher! Irgendwann im Alter halt oder so. Mit 80 oder 90 oder so. Aber jetzt bin ich ja erstmal 39. Das sind noch ein paar Jahre... Aber irgendwann halt; klar. Sie, ich, wir alle. Der andere Doktor wahrscheinlich auch. Ist halt so. Aber ich gehe jetzt erstmal zur Analyse; "Körpersäfte" abgeben. Und dann sehen wir weiter... ;-)

But it was good up to this point, right?
Anyway. Now, without any dramatic suspense... (But I really enjoyed writing up to this point!) Tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m., I can pick up the analysis data and then we'll see how we proceed. I may have to go to a specialist clinic (she didn't explicitly say whether I would have to stay there as an inpatient, but that wouldn't be possible anyway. Unless I can take my laptop with me and have WiFi there to work...) or just take medication such as antibiotics and something for inflammation and stuff. We'll see tomorrow...
War aber gut bis hier, oder?
Wie dem auch sei. Jetzt mal ohne krassen Spannungsbogen... (Hat mir bis hierhin aber echt viel Spaß gemacht, zu schreiben!) Morgen früh 9:00 Uhr kann ich mir die Analysedaten abholen und dann sehen wir wie wir fortfahren. Eventuell muss ich in eine Fachklinik (ob ich da stationär chillen soll, das hat sie so explizit nicht gesagt - das würde aber auch gar nicht gehen. Außer ich kann meinen Laptop mitnehmen und habe dort WiFi um zu arbeiten...) oder einfach nur Medikamente wie Antibiotika und hier gegen Entzündungen und sowas. Das werden wir morgen sehen...

Movement alarm
Although I don't like watches on my wrist—and smartwatches even less—I recharged my smartwatch and turned on the “Move again alarm.” I can't set the time period on the watch; let's see if I can do it in the app.
Drink water
Since yesterday, whenever I remember. Always a full glass. I always fill bottles with water so I can see how many liters I've drunk per day. Yesterday it was 2. If “remembering” doesn't work, there will also be a timer on the watch for this.
Alcohol
I'm not an alcoholic—I'm very careful about that, because regular alcohol consumption is a very ugly beast that creeps up on you in a very subtle embrace, but then easily has you firmly in its grip. But I do drink regularly. And certainly more than the average person... But okay... As I wrote yesterday, alcohol isn't good right now (and generally isn't great for your health either. Alcohol is a neurotoxin in any dosage...). Anyway, no alcohol for now... Life sucks... I have to get “healthy” again... Or at least back to normal... I recently discovered this rum with cinnamon... It's delicious!
Coffee
If I'm addicted to anything, it's coffee. But that's not good for me right now either... Oh well... I'm not giving up my morning coffee just yet. But coffee as a regular daily drink... Okay, I'll replace it with water.
Blood circulation
After my last motorcycle accident, I didn't start exercising again because my shoulder was injured for too long... And I was so nicely defined... I don't know if I'll manage to get to the muscle machine every day, which is only 30 meters away, but in any case, I'll be picking up the dumbbells more often—I used to do that before (before the last motorcycle accident). Yesterday, I already noticed how my heart started pumping right away.
Desk
Currently, I stand while working. And yes, of course I dance around in front of it, but I'll try to set up my workspace so that I can sit at it over the next few days.
Yeah, those are the things I can change right away. Going jogging would also be an option, but you have to be realistic: am I ready to do this every day? Uncertain... First, do everything that comes easily—and that's already a pretty good step.

Bewegungsalarm
Obwohl ich keine Uhren am Handgelenk mag - und Smartwatches erst recht nicht - habe ich meine Smartwatch wieder aufgeladen und den "Bewege dich wieder Alarm" eingeschaltet. In der Uhr kann ich den Zeitraum nicht einstellen; mal gucken ob dies in der App geht.
Wasser trinken
Seit gestern halt immer wenn ich daran denke. Immer gleich das volle Glas. Ich fülle mir Wasser immer in Flaschen ab, kann so also sehen, wieviel Liter ich pro Tag getrunken habe. Gestern waren es 2. Wenn das mit dem "dran denken" nicht funktioniert, wird es auch dafür einen Timer auf der Uhr geben.
Alkohol
Also ich bin ja kein Alkoholiker - da achte ich sehr drauf, weil regelmäßiger Alkoholkonsum ist eine ganz hässliche Fratze und greift nach einem in einer sehr subtilen Umarmung, hat einen dann aber mit Leichtigkeit fest im Griff. Aber ich trinke schon regelmäßig. Und bestimmt auch mehr als der Durchschnitt... Aber okay... Wie gestern schon geschrieben, ist Alkohol aktuell nicht gut (und generell ja auch gesundheitstechnisch nicht der Knaller. Alkohol ist halt in jeder Dosierung ein Nervengift...) Egal wie: erstmal keinen Alkohol... Das Leben ist auch schei##e... Ich muss wieder "gesund" werden... Oder zumindest wieder normal... Erst vor kurzem habe ich diesen Rum mit Zimt entdeckt... Der ist lecker!
Kaffee
Wenn ich süchtig nach was bin, dann eher der Kaffee. Aber für mich gerade auch nicht förderlich... Na gut... den Morgenkaffee, von dem nehme ich erstmal keinen Abstand. Aber Kaffee als durchgängiges Tagesgetränk... Gut, wird ausgetauscht mit Wasser.
Blutzirkulation
Nach meinem letzten Motorradunfall habe ich nicht wieder angefangen zu trainieren, weil meine Schulter zu lange lädiert war... Und ich war so schön definiert... Ob ich es jeden Tag auf die Muckimaschine schaffe, die nur 30 Meter entfernt steht, weiß ich nicht, aber in jedem Fall werden ich die Kurzhantel öfters ergreifen - habe ich schon früher (vor dem den letzten Motorradunfall) so gemacht. Da habe ich gestern schon gemerkt, wie das Herz direkt ins pumpen kommt.
Schreibtisch
Aktuell stehe ich während der Arbeit. Und ja, klar tänzele ich auch davor rum; aber ich werde schauen, das ich mir die nächsten Tage mein Setup so einrichte, das ich auch daran sitzen kann.
Joa, das sind so die Sachen, die ich unmittelbar ändern kann. Joggen gehen wäre auch noch drin, aber man muss auch realistisch sein: bin ich bereit, dies jeden Tag zu machen? Ungewiss... Erstmal alles machen, was mit Leichtigkeit geht - und das ist schon ein ganz guter Schritt.

Tomorrow...
... we'll see whether I need to go to a specialist clinic or not. If I don't get a referral, I'll go anyway. I could have an appointment on August 3 if I wanted to—my neighbor has already made arrangements. But tomorrow I'll see to what extent I can discuss long-term prevention with a specialist at the specialist clinic (if I get a referral) or whether I'll just be fobbed off with medication. In the latter case, I'll just seek out the specialist on my own. Because I should do more than just treat the acute “problem.” I should prepare myself for a better future.
Morgen dann...
... werden wir sehen ob Fachklinik oder nicht. Wenn ich keine Überweisung bekomme, werde ich trotzdem eine aufsuchen. Am 3. August könnte ich einen Termin habe, wenn ich das wöllte - meine Nachbarin hat da schon vorgewirkt. Das sehe ich aber morgen, in wie weit ich mit einem Spezialisten in der Fachklink (sofern ich denn eine Überweisung bekomme) austauschen kann über langfristige Prävention oder ob ich nur mit Medikamenten abgespeist werde. Im letzten Fall suche ich halt von mir aus den Spezialisten auf. Weil, ich sollte ja mehr machen, als einfach gerade nur das akute "Problem" behandeln. Ich sollte mich wappnen für das bessere Danach.
