So many things to think about. News, gossips, people's success, people's failures. What somebody said that embarrassed you, what anyone is doing. These thoughts look like normal thoughts but while your mind is filled with them, there's less and less time for self development. That's where the problem is.
We usually and mostly unconsciously spend too much time thinking about what other people are doing, saying, or thinking. It's a big waster of our energy and peace of mind. I've learned to value peace of mind so much. I've experienced being under an authority that gave me hell, I had to adapt but sometimes regardless of how well you adapt, those with power over you wll find a way to stress you out.
They'll do what they'll do and people will people. It's up to you to decide what you give your mind to. Life is short, and yes I previously wrote about how life can be long it we use it well but having our minds on these distractions makes it short and filled with sorrows.
The time we have should be used for things that bring us growth, happiness and purpose.
When we put our focus on others in a negative or curious way, it rarely helps us or them. It's no easy thing to control your thoughts but just know that it's absolutely necessary to do so. Control your thoughts and use it for productive stuff. People cn distract you but sometimes it's in your power to decide whether to be distracted or not.
Don't think too much about what others are doing, however, if our interest in someone’s life is to help, support or learn together, then it can have value.
Mutual benefit means both sides gain something good, whether it’s knowledge, kindness or progress in a joint venture.
Instead of choosing to gossip or judge, we can choose to share ideas, offer help or work toward common goals. That's time well spent and I value my time seriously.
In this way, our attention to others becomes meaningful to us. The more we direct our thoughts toward useful actions, the richer our own lives will become and the more positive our relationships will grow. The opposite will bring us down.
It's truer to me now than ever before, we become what we think of most of the times.
