Hello to my talented friends from #VibesWeb3. I wish the goodness of the universe to be with each of you.
This is my entry for week 20.. and wow! I feel like it's been a long time since my previous participation, and the truth is that sometimes I get a little anxious xd. I have come with a rather sad song indeed, and I will tell you the story shortly. This song is on the list of contemporary rock classics that I have wanted so much to bring to Vibes...and although the guitar is still missing a string, I still decided to embark on this adventure. Although the harmony is a little affected by the lack of this string, the essence of the song's sound is still maintained. But the real challenge was the vocal part; For those who know Alice In Chains, they know that its vocalist Layne Staley had a powerful and vibrant vocal timbre, reaching very high tones with great ease and smoothness. And the truth is that my interpretation doesn't do it even half justice (sorry about that Layne) but I did put my heart into it, just as much or even more than in all my presentations...and to be honest it has been one of the jobs that has made me feel the most liked, singing, since I'm not actually a singer as such, but rather a guitarist... but Vibes Web3 opens up many opportunities to exploit your talent, and I've wanted to do this cover for a long time.
Nutshell for those who know Alice In Chains, it is a very sad song with a very depressing atmosphere and melodies, based on Layne's addiction to drugs, it was a time when he was very bad and he felt that, literally, his life was already passing away. This man had a very hard and difficult life in his short youth, and music, although it was his best escape, in the end did not help him get out of the turbulence... but yes, leaving a great legacy that is a jewel that to this day It can still be appreciated and can still be enjoyed. It is a pretty tough topic to bring to the community, but it is also a very real topic and something that must be confronted in this society. Although to be honest, what I like most about this song are its melodies, it was the first thing that caught my attention and even today it continues to attract me...harmonically it is very beautiful, but lyrically it is very depressing. I want to send a big hug and my best energies to those people who are going through a similar situation, even if it is not necessarily related to drugs, since there are many other things that could cause tragedies of the same nature. I would like to light a 100W led lamp in their spirits so that the light reaches their minds and hearts.
