Hello, my name is Daymi and I just joined this community.
I’m very happy to belong to this community and I hope you enjoy what I do as much as I do. Thank you @pegardez19 who was the one who introduced me to this app.
Riptide is the song that I couldn't miss on a trip, I think it have the exact vibes of that. The Australian artist Vance Joy refers to a strong and sudden ocean current that can drag a person away from the shore. In the song, this natural phenomenon is used as a metaphor to describe the irresistible force of attraction towards another person, as well as the insecurities and fears that can arise when starting a relationship or facing changes in life. The reference to the 'magician's assistant' and the mention of a film about a man who leaves his job to go to New York City, suggest a desire to escape and seek something greater in life, perhaps in love or adventure. The song also plays with the idea of imperfection and acceptance, as seen in the line 'I love you when you're singing' that song and I gotta lump in my throat 'cause you're gonna sing the words wrong', which shows a fondness for the small imperfections of the person you love.
I was scared of dentists and the dark
I was scared of pretty girls and starting conversations
Oh, all my friends are turning green
You're the magician's assistant in their dream
Ah-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Ah-oh-oh-oh
And they come unstuck
Lady, runnin' down to the riptide
Taken away to the dark side
I wanna be your left hand man
I love you when you're singin' that song and
I got a lump in my throat 'cause
You're gonna sing the words wrong
There's this movie that I think you'll like
This guy decides to quit his job and head to New York City
This cowboy's running from himself
She's been living on the highest shelf
Ah-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Ah-oh-oh-oh
And they come unstuck
Lady, runnin' down to the riptide
Taken away to the dark side
I wanna be your left hand man
I love you when you're singin' that song and
I got a lump in my throat 'cause
You're gonna sing the words wrong
