Welcome back to my blog, guys! Today I'm happy because the VIBES contest is back, created by @lordbutterfly with @verbal-d and @silentscreamer as jurors, it's a contest where you are eligible to win a very epic prize on HBD, for more info you can read this post.

This week has no theme, so I decided to bring a song that I've been putting off for a long time due to personal issues, but I was finally able to make the effort to do it and I really loved the final result.

Now, having said that, let's talk a little bit about the song and why it all worked out.

Esta semana no tiene temática, así que decidí traer una canción que he estado postergando durante mucho tiempo por temas personales, pero por fin pude hacer el esfuerzo de hacerla y realmente me encantó mucho el resultado final.

Ahora, dicho esto, hablemos un poco sobre la canción y el porqué de todo.

The Song

For this week, I decided to choose one of the songs that most revolutionized the music industry in the year 2024, as it was Die With A Smile by Bruno Mars with Lady Gaga, this song I think has been one of the most difficult I had to interpret for various reasons, but I feel I could do a job at the height of the type of song.

I told you at the beginning of the post that I had been putting off this song for a long time and the reason is the following; a year and a few months ago, specifically in September 2023, a very special person to me named Michelle Reino passed away and left me a huge void that until today had been difficult to cope with.

She was my first "serious partner", so to speak, because she was the first person I went out with after graduating from high school, she was the first person who met my parents and she was one of the best partners I have had in my whole life; in fact, she was a completely perfect person for me but because of my immaturity at that time I didn't see that or take advantage of it and we ended up not being a couple anymore but good friends.

That same year, just 2 weeks before she passed away, an aunt of mine passed away who was like a second mother to me and I remember that one of the people who was most there for me in that difficult time was her, she wrote me very nice messages and I remember she told me that we would have some beers one day in my aunt's name because she liked beers very much.

Unfortunately we couldn't do that because she passed away too and well, basically when I went to her funeral, it was one of the most horrible funerals I have ever been to in my whole life; I had never felt so sad and so empty for losing someone because I had never been to the funeral of an ex-partner or someone who wasn't a relative that meant so much to me.

At that time, around 2012, I was quite famous with music and she loved my songs, I remember she had a CD with all my songs and whenever we saw each other she put them in a player and started singing them at the top of her lungs with me, and that marked me too much, to the point that she probably generated many expectations of what I look for in a relationship without knowing it.

At her funeral, I remember that they did a mass in her honor and they sang songs for her but my voice didn't come out, I couldn't sing, I just cried a lot and I collapsed, it was too much pain; today I decide to do this song because I want to honor her memory and finally make the proper closure.

Her best friend told me, that being about to die, her last words were that she wanted to see me, even knowing that she had a partner with whom she had been with for 2 years, even her mother hugged me at the funeral and told me that I was always the love of her daughter's life, that really marked me, it is an amount of love that I don't feel I deserved, but I received.

I don't regret anything, because those mistakes in the past made me who I am today, yes I would have liked maybe to have taken more advantage of the love I received from him, because it was the purest love I have received in my life, so much, that he loved me until his last breath.

So I decided to make this cover and add a second verse written by me in Spanish in memory of how much she loved that I wrote romantic music, and this way I finally have the courage to let her go, finally I can say that I can live with her memory without nostalgia or pain, this is my way to thank her for everything she meant to me at the time and thank her for all the love she felt for me, even though I feel I never deserved it.

So long Michi, I treasure all the good things and will immortalize everything in this song, in the blockchain, forever.

I know that someday I will find a love as pure as the one you offered me, and I will be ready to receive it when I do, thank you for everything you taught me about myself.

La Canción

Para esta semana, decidí elegir una de las canciones que más revolucionó la industria de la música en el año 2024, como lo fue Die With A Smile de Bruno Mars con Lady Gaga, esta canción creo que ha sido de las más difíciles que tenido que interpretar por diversos motivos, pero siento que pude hacer un trabajo a la altura del tipo de canción.

Les dije al principio del post que tenía tiempo postergando esta canción y el motivo es el siguiente; hace un año y unos meses, específicamente en Septiembre de 2023, una persona demasiado especial para mí llamada Michelle Reino falleció y me dejó un vacío enorme que hasta el día de hoy había sido difícil de sobrellevar.

Fue mi primera "pareja seria", por así decirlo, porque fue la primera persona con la que salí luego de graduarme del bachillerato, fue la primera persona que conoció a mis padres y fue una de las mejores parejas que he tenido en toda mi vida; de hecho, era una persona completamente perfecta para mí pero por mi inmadurez de aquella época no super ver eso ni aprovecharlo y terminamos dejando de ser pareja para ser buenos amigos.

Ese mismo año, justo 2 semanas antes de que ella falleciera, falleció una tía mía que fue como una segunda madre para mí y recuerdo que una de las personas que más estuvo ahí para mí en ese momento tan difícil fue ella, me escribió mensajes muy bonitos y recuerdo que me dijo que nos tomaríamos unas birras un día en nombre de mi tía porque a ella le gustaban mucho las cervezas.

Lamentablemente no pudimos concretar eso porque ella falleció también y bueno, básicamente cuando fui a su funeral, fue uno de los más horribles los que he ido en toda mi vida; nunca me había sentido tan triste y tan vacío por perder a alguien porque nunca había ido al funeral de una ex-pareja o de alguien que no fuera un familiar que significara tanto para mí.

En esa época, como por el año 2012, yo era bastante famoso con la música y ella amaba mis canciones, recuerdo que tenía un CD con todas mis canciones y siempre que nos veíamos me las ponía en un reproductor y se ponía a cantarlas a todo pulmón conmigo, y eso me marcó demasiado, al punto de que, probablemente ella generó muchas expectativas de lo que yo busco en una relación sin saberlo.

En su funeral, recuerdo que hicieron una misa en su honor y le cantaron canciones pero a mí no me salió la voz, no pude cantar, solo lloré muchísimo y me desplomé, era demasiado dolor; hoy decido hacer esta canción porque quiero honrar su memoria y por fin hacer el debido cierre.

Su mejor amiga me dijo, que estando a punto de morir, sus últimas palabras fueron que quería verme, aún sabiendo que ella tenía una pareja con la que llevaba 2 años, incluso su señora madre me abrazó en el funeral y me dijo que yo siempre fui el amor de la vida de su hija, eso de verdad que me marcó, es una cantidad de amor que no siento que haya merecido, pero recibí.

No me arrepiento de nada, porque esos errores en el pasado me hicieron quien soy hoy en día, sí me habría gustado tal vez haber aprovechado más el amor que recibí de su parte, porque fue el amor más puro que he recibido en mi vida, tanto, que me amó hasta su último respiro.

Así que decidí hacer este cover y agregarle una segunda estrofa escrita por mí en español en memoria de lo mucho que ella amaba que yo escribiera música romántica, y de esta forma por fin tengo el valor de dejarla ir, por fin puedo decir que ya puedo vivir con su recuerdo sin que me provoque nostalgia o dolor, esta es mi manera de agradecerle por todo lo que significó para mí en su momento y agradecerle por todo el amor que sintió por mí, aunque yo sienta que nunca lo merecí.

Hasta pronto Michi, atesoro todo lo bueno y quedará inmortalizo todo en esta canción, en la blockchain, para siempre.
