There are a lot of beautiful entries in the community for week 38. Sometimes, one even wonders which one to write a review on.
I won't lie, I love the effort the community is putting in raising good and excellent artists world wide. Most of the entries here are wonderful. It excites me to see people going out of their comfort zone to make something beautiful. Shout out to all the judges, and everyone behind this initiative.
I will be reviewing a cover by @blessie31 titled, “More Than Wonderful." From the title two things would come to anyone's mind, either a song for God or for a lover.
Actually, when I saw the title, those were the things on my mind and I am glad I got one right, heheh.
More than wonderful is a song by Larnell Harris and Sandi Patty. It was released in 1983.
It is a very powerful song that talks about how great and wonderful Jesus is. The song is a mixture of both praise and love for the Lord.
The line I love the most in the lyrics is “The finest words I know could not begin to tell just what Jesus means to me.”
According to blessie31, she chose the song because it makes her feel happy and joyful. It reminds her that Jesus can still come through for her in any situation and perform his wonders again.
That was a good pick, it's a beautiful Sunday afternoon. I think I came across her entry at the right time.
Blessie31's entry was unique, she chose her background wisely, a very quiet and peaceful environment. She accompanied the song with an instrumental, a piano/keyboard sound and it's wonderful.
Her voice was perfect for the song, calm, slow and steady matching the sound from the piano/keyboard.
One can tell that it was not just a song to her but something even deeper from the way she closes her eyes when singing emotional parts of the song. The connection between her and the song was obvious and it stands out for me.
Her outfit is also something I love, it was modest, a long black skirt reaching her knees and a round neck long sleeve t-shirt. It shows decency.
Although there is nothing wrong with an outfit , I think it's beautiful when what we sing or preach reflects in all areas of our lives including our outfits. The wise say, “the way we dress is how we would be addressed.”
That was an excellent performance @blessie31, well done!
