Hello friends of Hive,
Picture from @ovey10 post
My name is @oluthomas, and I’m super excited to share a review on @ovey10’s entry for the Vibes Web3 Music Competition Week 38. I’ve watched some of the entries for the week, and as someone who used to love rap songs a lot especially from secular artists I was once so addicted to rap. But over time, my love for secular rap began to fade, and I had no gospel rapper to listen to. I also didn’t care to do further research at the time. But @ovey10’s entry has inspired me to start researching gospel rappers again.
While listening to this particular entry, everything he did felt so natural, with little to no heavy voice editing. That alone shows that he really took time to score the rap perfectly. Normally, breathing and rapping freely is not easy, but he was able to maneuver his way and deliver excellently.
Talking about clarity and accurate diction in this song, even without him captioning the lyrics, you can still understand the words. That’s something I usually struggle with in rap; after listening, I often still need to check the lyrics to get the full message. But this one was exceptional. The way he flowed effortlessly while sitting down and still giving his best was impressive.
He was also able to carry his audience along; you could tell from his body movements and facial expressions. He has a great way of connecting with his audience and delivering with impact.
These are some of the key points I observed in this entry, and his submission deserves to be considered by the judges.
Thank you for going through my post.
Remain blessed.
