The rules of the contest say the following:
I asked, if musicians, who produce electronic music can also take part in the contest. And the organizer told me, that I should send him an example video.
So I recorded myself and showing my project file of how I produced a song and sent it to him as an example.
The organizer then told me that it cannot be accepted, because it cannot be rated and it is way to easy to abuse this. 😐
1. Well, first of all I think the rules are clear: record yourself playing music. I did this. As I see my PC and production software with the plugins as my instruments. And still, it´s not accepted. So it might be good to make the rules more correct and clear.
2. And second, I cannot agree that it is open to abuse. Since I showed my project file which only I have. And showed what plugins I used (I have hundreds of plugins and bought them all. I spent thousands of dollars to setup my production software). Someone would need my project file and the exact same plugins I have (which is very unlikely because they are from 30 different companies) to be able to pretend and show that they produced my song.
So yeah after putting all this work in it, I am quite disappointed that it will not be accepted. And I decided to upload it anyways, since I already put in all the work to make this video.
To make it clear: I don´t care about the prize money or if I can win or not. I just think we already have so much stuff on Hive where "live" musicians that sing or play an instrument in front of the camera can earn big upvotes or win contests. But we have almost NOTHING for music producers. And that´s sad.
It took me years to learn this expertise. Much longer than it took me to learn playing the drums. I could also just record me playing the drums to take part in this contest. But that´s not the point.
I just want to help all the music producers to get chances and possibilities on Hive too! We have some very very good ones in here. Many already produced music for games and projects that are built on Hive. So these musicians play an important role on our beloved chain.
Further on, I think if we had more possibilites for music producers on Hive, we would be able to drag more of these into our chain. We always only aim for draging "live" musicians onto our chain, and that means that we miss out on the other half of professional musicians - the producers.
So yeah that is basically why I still upload and submit my video, even if I know, I can´t win because I am not "eligible" to reasons I don´t really understand.
I hope you get my point guys. I am both - a live musician that played 15 years on stage, and a music producer for 10 years. And I think we need chances for both sides.

Coming back to my video.
This is a song I produced for a new Hive game called Rise of the Pixels. I am allowed to produce Synthwave music for this game 🎉 which is awesome because I love to support Hive projects with my music! And in this video I showed you in a very short version how I produced the first song Starlight for this game. Yes this video is short because producing this song took around 8-10 hours. 😄
It´s the first time I make a video and show how I produce. So I hope you like it guys.
