Greetings!
A few days ago I published blogs discussing my impression of Diablo Immortal. Overall, I love the game, and as of the moment, I am still not feeling the P2W aspect of the game on my level 24 Demon Hunter just like what I am reading from other players. With that being said, this blog is all about my impression of the skills of the character Demon Hunter which is the first ever that I play when I started playing Diablo Immortal.
Below are two video gameplays of my Demon Hunter where I based my impression of the skills...
Looking at the skills window of the game the skills are grouped into two namely "Primary Attack" and "Skills".
Under primary attacks are Crossbow Shot and Explosive Arrow which I haven't unlocked yet.
Crossbow Shot
Crossbow shot is mainly the basic/primary attack of Demon Hunter and my impression it is that is the weakest attack of Demon Hunter. It has 400 to 560 damage with enhanced damage of up to 650.
Daring Swing
First up in the skills tree is Daring Swing. It uses a rope to swing forward inflicting 531 damage, while in the air, enemies cannot attack you. My impression of this skill is that you can use it to escape when you are trapped. I always escape successfully using this skill and also inflicting damage, nice! Additionally, it has two charges, meaning you can swing twice in succession further getting away from enemies if your health is low.
Knife Trap
I think knife trap is one of the strongest skills by Demon Hunter at level 24 because of its splash damage, the only downside of this skill is that it has to be placed perfectly to inflict maximum damage. After placement, the knife trap will explode when an enemy approaches inflicting 810 damage in the process. My impression of this skill is that you have been close to the trap so that the enemies following you will get into the effective AOE (Area of Effect) of the trap.
Knockback Shot
The knockback shot is a skill that can also be used as an escape skill because of its knockback effect while inflicting 562 damage to the enemy. My impression of this skill is this could be useful in tandem with Daring Swing at the later part of the game where enemies are too many just like in Diablo II (I assume).
Multishot
Here is another splash damage skill that is useful in tackling enemies in a group. It is a point-and-shoot skill just like daring swing and knockback. My impression of this skill is that you need to be a couple of steps away from the enemy before you let it go so that it would cover its whole AOE (Area of Effect).
Rain of vengeance
Perhaps my favorite of all the Demon Hunter skills is the Rain of Vengeance because if it's 1248 damage that it can inflict on a group of enemies, imagine, a 20 enemy ganged up on you then you used Rain of Vengeance combined with Knife Trap, goodbye! My impression of this skill is that it will be more useful in the later part of the game where enemies are more in numbers.
Strafe
Perhaps my second favorite skill of Demon Hunter is strafe because of its splash damage it may have low damage but it can also be used as an escape skill since it will let you move faster while shooting arrows around. My impression of this skill it is nice to be combined with Rain of Vengeance (at least in my level 24 Demon Hunter).
Final Thoughts
Overall my impression of the Demon Hunter skills are very fun to use (at level 24), and is not underpowered (at level 24), especially when combined with other skills. There are three escape skills that you can use handily if you are trapped namely Daring Swing, Knockback Shot, and Strafe, but keep in mind that Knockback does not have a knockback effect on bosses (as what I observed), Daring Swing is the most effective skill to be used to escape when you are trapped. Also, I still have not observed if Strafe will let your character move if enemies successfully surround your every escape route or passage.
