It has been a few days now and I am yet to enter the world of Myrland. If you are unfamiliar with this place you will need to look up Mortal Online 2. It is recommended not to purchase this game, unless you are a masochists' and like to look at a queue position that increases your position number instead of decreasing.
We're not in a good time, but at least we are having a good time.
The topic I want to cover today is the game Mortal Online 2. A second post regarding the current state of this scam, I mean game.
The developers of this game have implemented a patch this morning. Morning for me. Not sure what time it was for them. They have added a queue timer and position so that way you as a player when entering the main game will have a place marker you can follow so you are aware on how long you will have to wait for.
They fucked this up.
First, the queue position goes up in value each tick of the clock. On investigation, going into Twitch to see what other players are experiencing, I see that my queue position is the same as the guy that has logged in earlier than me. Confirmed this with three other streamers, I visited their channels. When my position ticks, theirs do as well.
Second, the estimated time does not go down at all. I had thought, ok there is a glitch in the position but maybe the time will be better. NOPE. Far from it. The time is also increasing. Further research. Twitch. Everyone I visit that are in the queue all have the same corresponding time.
My theory. The money they got are all being blown on coke and hookers and they just got some chimpanzees to code for them to give a supposed patch..
Now while I am starting to become toxic and have even said to my friend I am uninstalling this garbage I am a sucker for games. FOMO. I am human and after all I cannot escape my inner masochists' so I still persist in trying to get in.
My second theory. Star Vault, the company/developer, stated the server can accommodate 100,000 players and each region in the server are nodes, hence the great number of people able to play the game in the one server. Reason why we cant get in is because everyone is trying to connect the first starting area and therefore the node there is already over capacity, so first come first served.
This is the ringer of it all. The developers are very quiet on this. I have asked this question on their discord, if you ever get the chance, visit it and you will see tons of people complaining. They have not responded to that question/theory, so at least if that is the case players know that they need to move out of the starting areas so people can get in or at least the people waiting know that is the issue.
Developers on writing this have all logged out of discord. They have left for the day because again I think I will go back to my first theory. Chimpanzees and hookers/coke time.
Game wise
The one time I did manage to get into the main game, I played for one hour. In that hour I was able to experience Diablo 2's infamous Death Lag. I exit the city of Fabernum, no protection from the NPC guards so I am on edge and always alert for anything and everything. HIT!, then another HIT!. Frantically I look around and see no one near me at all. But I am getting damaged. I run away, from something or someone!
Which way? No idea. There is no one there. I make it back to the city. Lucky. I look at the combat log and see some guy, "Ken", hitting me for damage. Bastard.
I venture out again. Same result. Taking damage from an unknown force. This time its from another guy, name unknown because can't remember it, LOL. This time not so lucky.. I die. Respawn. I venture out naked. Full nudity turned on so my dick is flashing and swinging as I run to my dead body. They did not loot me. My dead body is also there. I butcher it to get my own meat. I eat it. Hope I didn't eat my own penis. Shrug Who cares it's a game.
Next thing I know I am dead again. By the same guy. I am not fussed however because I am in the game, playing. Hardcore rule set. It is fun. I admit. I had fun.
The game eventually started to show me other players moving this time. Inside the city, so much lag. But outside my killer is now visible to me. I get my items and don't bother butchering myself again. I arm up and get ready for combat. It seems the game has a long load time for it to catch up to my PC and location, server is in the UK, so note to self for next time. Stay at the edge of the city where I can let the game load up abit.
This time round I get a few hits on my killer, I die again. They have full armor and good weapons. Respawn. This time I run back and see that they are not looting my body. They are just wanting to have PVP with everyone. Practicing their skills on anyone they encounter. This is fun. I am enjoying myself.
I look at the time. Hmmm I have to logout. See you tomorrow game. Can't wait to get back in.
That was five days ago I. Have. Not. Been able to get back in. Stuck fighting queue boss and losing ever since.
Conclusion
If the game survives this hiatus and fuck up by the coked up developers it will be a good fast action game to waste my time in real life. If they succeed in fixing the game entry problem. Out of ten, at the moment of writing this I give it a 3.
