Gamers of Hive, greeting, Another game has been finished. A new one has been started.
The opening was a magnificent one to say the least. The introduction by the woman was splendid. I know about the mythology because I played Hercules, a really old 2D game of the movie Hercules (has more movie sequels). I recognised the sisters of death albeit the hands of death I am not sure whom it referred it to. Maybe the trials of the boss.
The intro scenes were also very self explanatory. I didn’t play the prequels but I slaw the scenes and saw the stuff that had happened in GOW2. Athena died protecting Zeus.
The buildings here were very similar to the ones in Hercules. The burning building resembled extreme hate towards the gods, it seemed to me that way. At first, I thought that was gonna be a long intro and somehow I would be in a battle right after but no. I saw that the game brought me to the initial menus section🙂. I roamed the menus and saw the display and other settings.
The controls were very similar to what I am used to that’s for sure. The light and heavy are a staple for any combat game. The others fall into place as usual. I went here in the last to set off on my way to the game.
This is the first time I’m playing this game and I usually don’t play games in easy mode as… well becomes too easy and no fun. I chose the one with moderate suffering😁. I didn’t want to take chance with the Titan mode as that would be just plain ol’ depressing and dark time throughout the play time.
The scene begins with Zeus encouraging his allies to defend their place, Mount Olympus, against the impeding foes: Titans along with Kratos. They made peace, prosperity, with the safety of the mountain. Personally, the times that they used to live in gave much misery to human as well.
I recognised the Titan shown here. I have seen enough mythology from game and book to know them. I used to read Percy Jackson back in my school days. Basically, the infidelity of Zeus made gods that made people to worship them… wow. It looked cool to see the Titan in action.
Zeus makes himself known to his dad. Bringing the destruction to Olympus while Zeus orders his bunch of followers attack the incoming titans. Hercules can be seen ordering his skeleton crew to go toward Gaia but they were crushed instantly.
First time battling the skeleton army. I didn’t realise until later in the game that I had many combos unlocked and both my health and magic powers were at peak condition.
The most amount of consecutive hits that I could muster up in the entirety of the gameplay. Not bad for first time trying. The pic quality is downright crappy but I wanted to show my effort of the hits here🥲🤷♂️.
The first time seeing this monstrosity of a creature, disgusting and weird. Like somebody played animal farm and crossed between a horse and crab. The thing about studying the boss’s attack sequencing totally escaped my mind as I was having fun with the combos. My health was also very high and it was constantly replenishing with each boss fight’s end.
The was a moment that had me scratching my head. How does a walking volcano get hurt due to some fireball? Let alone flinching it shouldn’t even put a dent in him right?
My first Centaur kill. I didn’t react fast enough to move the stick to the way the centaur charged it’s arrow. The animation dude was sick! The ruthless way Kratos eliminates enemies is downright savagery.
The first/fallen God Of War, Ares. I think that Kratos overtook his position after killing him? The place was a tomb for the dead god. He was huge in size too and this place looked nice too.
This was the second time meeting this persistent creature…
Somehow, the sea creature had affected Gaia internally and it was up to Kratos to set her right. The place was surprisingly vibrant. One thing that I loved though was how the game portrayed the creature’s heart, the heart beat, and it’s way of transporting oxygen throughout but I don’t know if it’s the sap that carriers it as Gaia is basically a huge tree. Blood shouldn’t be there so… #showerthoughts
The third time seeing the petulant creature but it came with it’s master.
Poseidon made himself known in all his glory. The first boss fight of mine. It was a long drawn out one as I was getting knocked out by his electric trident. It was frustrating as I knew his attack sequence but still didn’t know how to use it as my dodge is not on fleek.
After much suffering I finally got the guy and what a splendid animation it was. It was very cool.
As soon as the guy was stripped from his shell the entire sea creature diminished into nothing and disintegrated back to the sea. The whole creature looked like some sort of Kraken with these long crab handed tentacles.
Poseidon was being bullied here. I wanted didn’t want to bully the guy first but I started to enjoy the primal activity of the new god of war. Here, I punctured Poseidon’s eyes with my fingers when he was trying to get into the sea.
The consequences to killing a god… an entire city with it’s people went underwater. Nobody survived this calamity. Is this the great Atlantis?
Kratos threw the body of the god of sea into the ocean and saw how things turn out to be. Wasn’t pretty.
Sadly though, my internet connection went away and had to make this gameplay into a 2 video gameplay.
The above is the first part.
The above is the second part.
Enjoy the gameplay.
