I have been playing Overwatch 2 for some time and needed a friend to play with. The randoms are too much of a blink to deal with. I surmised, if I was to play better, I had to get a common face in the game. Somehow, I had convinced my friend to play Overwatch with me.
He says big stuff about being good with Genji in the first Overwatch but after playing a couple of games with him, it became clear that he wasn’t at the same level as me but he was an outstanding of a healer.
(I used Ai art generator so I can claim this as my own)
He tried other healers first and came to the healer he didn’t knew was good: Mercy. Boy is he a good healer albeit he is not proud of the fact XD.
The Game
From there on, he stuck with me for the entire time. I opted for the Open Queue so that Purpleherb(@purple-haze) and my friend get to know the character mechanisms well. That way the burden of playing good would diminish as all the players would be “glonk”.
The game started at Oasis. My friend Elciberdorado asks me to take bastion and he would take Mercy.
The start of the game was bad, I couldn’t understand the newbies’ way of playing. The opposition team won the first round as they were playing as a team while the guys on my side were exploring the place by themselves. Still, I ended with a decent amount of damage.
The second game starts, with a huge change of tables tipping on my side. I dropped their bodies left and right and barely died 4 times.
Lo and behold, the second round ended with me having 10k damage and 28 kills. The opposition team at one point turned to 2 tanks, 2 damage and 1 heal, just to stop me but to no avail.
And finally, the third round begins and this time I began to slaughter them one by one.
I died only 2 times there and did a damage of 6k with 20 kills. And all of this was possible because of a dedicated healer behind your back. And of course, I got the play of the game.
This made me realise that I could potentially goto Diamond, even Master in Competitive with this kinda support behind me as I ride the tide toward victory. I asked my friend if he would consider Competitive, he declined instantly🥲, not that I blame him. He truly doesn’t like playing heal even though he got 42 assists in this 1 game by standing behind me.
