Pokemon desde hace varios años ya forma parte de la cultura popular de una forma arrolladora desde sus juegos que cada día se van superando con la cantidad de criaturas que pueden agregar hasta sus otros productos como series, parques de atracciones y demás, uno de los juegos mas importantes de los últimos años y que ha creado todo un fenómeno de realidad aumentada con Pokemon GO! que ha sido un éxito masivo para la compañía pero no ha afectado para nada la filosofía del estudio responsable de dar las licencias de todos los juegos de Pokemon, he podido investigar que a pesar del éxito tanto económico como en cuanto a criticas de Pokemon GO, The Pokemon Company a decidido seguir innovando, y es ahí cuando llega Pokemon: Magikarp Jump! que puede parecer una broma después de un éxito como Pokemon GO pero que resulta ser una aproximación refrescante a la clasica aventura de los videojuegos.
Básicamente cuando comenzamos el juego nos entregan como inicial un Magikarp que tendremos que entrenar pero no para que pelee, evolucione y se convierta en un Pokemon funcional, no, tendremos que entrenarlo para que SALTE, lo mas alto posible, para así poder recorrer cada ciudad e ir retando a los entrenadores que también tienen Magikarps y ver cual de los dos Pokemon puede saltar mas alto, es un concepto que le da un giro a las aventuras poniendo conceptos como la gestión de tu Pokemon y su alimentación mucho mas enfocados, así como también cambian el tono ligero de la mayoría de los juegos e introducen uno un poco mas maduro con toda clase de bromas y comentarios que seguramente te dejaran con la cabeza torcida.
La esencia del juego tiene mucho que ver con los juegos originales de la franquicia ya que básicamente en Magikarp Jump tenemos que ir de entrenador en entrenador venciendo a cada uno de ellos, ganando experiencia para nuestro pescado y mejorando sus habilidades de salto, aquí también entran la alimentación que podemos darle a nuestro Magikarp así como la gestión que tendremos de sus energías, los entrenamiento son cada vez mas importantes cada vez que avanzamos y a lo largo de la aventura también podremos comprar toda clase de objetos, comidas o entrenamientos para poder mejorar los stats de nuestro querido amigo.
Cada victoria nos recompensa con monedas que podremos ir recolectando para comprar mejoras aunque también podremos conseguirlas diariamente si jugamos todos los días pero también hay la posibilidad de toparnos con diferentes eventos aleatorios que suelen ser quizá lo mas interesante del juego ya que combinan un humor casi absurdo con situaciones "reales" que pasarían en el mundo Pokemon, y que también nos dejan con consecuencias muy reales como tener que perder nuestro Magikarp y tener que buscar uno nuevo.
Como la mayoría de los juegos F2P de los móviles este juego también tiene varias microtransacciones que nos aparecerán en el juego y en algunos casos tendremos que esperar varias horas para que nuestro Magikarp pueda aprender una habilidad o pueda recuperarse por completo, hay posibilidad de usar otros pokemon también para que nos ayuden a lo largo de la aventura, así que no solo tendremos a nuestro amigo Magikarp sino una gama de Pokemon que en general son de la primera generación así que son fáciles de reconocer.
El diseño del juego es agradable, me recuerda mucho a los juegos actuales de Nintendo y Pokemon pero también tiene ese toque de nostalgia que a muchos old school players seguramente les gustara. El juego en si tiende a repetirse un poco después de cierto tiempo como el resto de los F2P que solo dependen de que hagamos ciertas cosas, las batallas de saltos aunque son un agregado curioso a la franquicia creo que se quedan muy atrás en cuando a variedad y en algún punto también tienen tendencia de ser repetitivas, simplemente a medida que vamos subiendo de nivel tenemos mas posibilidades de retar a los entrenadores mas experimentados y conseguir mas medallas pero aparte de eso el subir de nivel es solo un sistema de progresión algo simple para el juego.
A pesar de las deficiencias de este juego puedo decir que me divertido el concepto desde un inicio y me parce que Nintendo ha seguido fiel a su estilo de seguir buscando nuevas formas de sorprender a sus fanáticos, investigando un poco mas descubrí que este juego fue hecho por un equipo desarrollador aparte e la Pokemon Company pero me sorprende lo bien que han quedado muchas partes del juego, y aunque sea repetitivo y no muestre demasiada variedad puedo decir que me ha entretenido desde que lo tengo en mi celular.

The essence of the game has a lot to do with the original games of the franchise since basically in Magikarp Jump we have to go from trainer to trainer beating each of them, gaining experience for our fish and improving their jumping skills, here also enter the food we can give our Magikarp as well as the management we will have of their energy, training are increasingly important each time we advance and throughout the adventure we can also buy all kinds of objects, food or training to improve the stats of our dear friend.
Each victory rewards us with coins that we can collect to buy improvements but we can also get them daily if we play every day but there is also the possibility of running into different random events that tend to be perhaps the most interesting of the game as they combine an almost absurd humor with "real" situations that would happen in the Pokemon world, and that also leave us with very real consequences like having to lose our Magikarp and having to look for a new one.
Like most mobile F2P games this game also has several microtransactions that will appear to us in the game and in some cases we will have to wait several hours so that our Magikarp can learn an ability or can recover completely, there is the possibility of using other pokemon also to help us along the adventure, so we will not only have our Magikarp friend but a range of Pokemon that in general are from the first generation so they are easy to recognize.
The design of the game is nice, it reminds me a lot of current Nintendo and Pokemon games but also has that touch of nostalgia that many old school players will surely like. The game itself tends to repeat itself a bit after some time like the rest of the F2P that only depend on us to do certain things, the jump battles although they are a curious addition to the franchise I think they are far behind in terms of variety and at some point also have a tendency to be repetitive, just as we level up we have more chances to challenge more experienced trainers and get more medals but other than that leveling up is just a somewhat simple progression system for the game.
Despite the shortcomings of this game I can say that I enjoyed the concept from the beginning and it seems to me that Nintendo has remained true to its style to continue looking for new ways to surprise their fans, researching a little more I discovered that this game was made by a separate development team and the Pokemon Company but I am surprised how well they have been many parts of the game, and although it is repetitive and does not show too much variety I can say that I have been entertained since I have it on my phone.
