It's been a while but I'm finally looking for other games in my library to play. I had a dry couple of months because I felt that with games like The Messenger and some that I had installed on my PC I had enough time, but I think today I I woke up wanting something more, roguelikes have quickly become one of my favorite genres and it is perhaps what I was looking for to publish here, something challenging that will make me stay for a while in their world, and perhaps I have found it.
Rogue Legacy is a series of games that I have followed for some time, perhaps since the indie fever hit me and I started playing them without there being a tomorrow, I didn't like the aesthetics too much or at least that's what I tell myself to justify not having played it before, this game had everything I liked, it was a roguelike that got more difficult as you progressed, and if you died you had to go to the beginning and start all over again.
In addition to the fact that it had a gameplay that in my eyes was not bad, it was something like a platformer that reminded me a lot of Dead Cells, perhaps because it could also be considered this style of game, the only thing that if it didn't appeal to me too much was the graphic style of this game, something like cartoons that I feel I had already seen in too many games before, today I have an obsession with pixel art and I would like a game of this same style with that graphic style.
But I digress, Rogue Legacy mixes several genres but above all that essence of roguelikes where you have several levels in a row with their bosses and all the difficulties and where you have to complete everything in one sitting, without extra lives or checkpoints, here We are introduced to a gentleman who is going to an island from which he can no longer leave, we will have to do everything possible to get as far as possible and to gather all the information we can.
What happens when we die? Well, what remains is our son who has to fulfill the same objective as us, with the information and the riches that we have previously grabbed, it is a concept that is very fun because progress is assured even if you die countless times along the way, with each new run. We grab more gold that we can exchange for better weapons, new spells or to bring more supplies on the trip.
I see it today and it doesn't seem like the most original thing in the world but it is fun, it reminded me a lot of Dead Cells, as I said before, both for the set that they put us through and for the gameplay that combines the weapons that we can find in it. I walk with the magic that we can improve as well as the luck we have along the way, because we may have some brutal bosses or less heavy ones that we can defeat.
So far I have played it little, I have only been able to get to the end of the first levels and I have only barely gone through two generations before doing so, it is not as difficult as I thought at the moment but these games do get complicated after pass them
It's a start, I also have other titles that I have been playing but that I don't want to share here until I complete them and have my opinions about them a little more established, even so, as always, I leave you this recommendation in case you want to start a new adventure, I for one In this blog I mostly share independent games that are great, so you can follow me if you like.
