Loop Hero podra parecer y sonar como uno de los videojuegos mas estaticos y aburridos, pero creeme cuando te digo que es uno de los mas adictivos que he jugado este año de largo, sus mecanicas son tan simples y llevan a tanta intensidad que no me extraña que este titulo tenga una comunidad con tanto cariño detras, su combinacion del genero de la estrategia en tiempo real con los RPG me atrapo desde el primer momento, aunque tenia dudas al principio creo que este juego se gana a pulso estar ahi arriba en el estante de los mejores videojuegos indie, punto. Aunque, la primera vez jugandolo note un problema.
Es demasiado dificil, al menos para mi lol
Y juro por dios que me considero un jugador dedicado, ya habran leido alguno de mis post rompiendome la cabeza completando juegos como Cuphead o Hades sin sufrir demasiado, pero este juego, no se si son sus mecanicas o es el simple hecho de que a los desarrolladores se les paso la mano, que aun hasta el dia de hoy no he podido completar, ni siquiera la campaña principal.
En terminos generales, Loop Hero es un juego de estrategia, en el que somos un heroe atrapado en un mapa con forma de bucle, iremos recorriendolo peleando contra todos los monstruos que nos salgan pero el giro es que no controlaremos al heroe, sino a su entorno y equipamiento, el cual iremos modificando para aumentar sus atributos e inclinar cada batalla a nuestro favor, en el caso del escenario tendremos cartas que colocaremos en el escenario para bien invocar monstruos que nos sirvan para encontrar mejor equipamiento o poner en el entorno para mejorar los atributos de nuestro heroe, hay un monton de combinaciones y enemigos por lo que siempre tenemos que estar atentos al heroe y su entorno.
Cuando entras a este juego no sabes muy bien a lo que te estas enfrentando, la historia es bastante extraña y las mecanicas no son demasiado explicativas al comienzo, solo te dicen que con un click derecho paras el tiempo en el bucle y con el mouse puedes colocar las cartas que te van saliendo con cada victoria en batalla, tarde bastante la primera vez en entender del todo para que funciona cada una de las cartas (hasta este dia ando aprendiendo) pero una vez tienes algo claras las mecanicas y hacia donde se dirige el juego es muy dificil no volverse adicto a llevar un poco mas lejos en cada nueva expedicion.
Lo curioso es que tambien la historia va acorde a toda esta mecanica basada en el olvido y el recuerdo, en cada nueva expedicion saltamos en un bucle vacio pero con cada nueva carta podemor ir convirtiendo el paisaje y recordar como era todo, solo para que al caer volvamos a caer en esa amnesia que caracteriza a cada uno de los personajes de este juego, aunque hay varios y este juego tiene bastantes dialogos por leer no me parecen lo mas interesante, al menos no tanto como para pararme a leerlos cada vez que salen.
A medida que vamos avanzando (y fallando) vamos aprendiendo n poco mas de todo este mundo, nuevos personajes nos van ayudando a construir un pequeño refugio en la tormenta y vamos aprendiendo un poco mas sobre por que el mundo esta sumido en este caos, cada vez que nos sintamos comodos en alguna expedicion estaremos a un solo paso de enfrentarnos a un nuevo jefe, no es de esos niveles finales convencionales, sino que estos han sido los compases en donde la historia si agarra un toque interesante y mucho mas jugabilidad que se torna practicamente imposible de batir, al menos la primera vez que nos topamos con ellos.
Las primeras veces encontraremos frustante ser batidos en las puertas de completar alguno de estos bucles pero luego iremos implementando nuevas estrategias, el juego es bueno para que entendamos la funcion de cada una de las habilidades de nuestro heroe, no son pocas por lo que aca resalto todas las combinaciones que podemos usar para acabar y llegar a esta batalla final con toda la salud posible, con el tiempo y las derrotas nos hacemos mucho mas fuertes, sabiendo en donde y cuando poner cada una de las cartas que nos dan, jugando mucho con la situacion que nos proponen.
La jugabilidad esta muy balanceada para que cada vez alguna situacion, carta o equipamiento te favorezca haya una relacion entre mejora-desventaja que siempre te deja pensando si hiciste una buena o mala decision, el juego da mucho margen a que nos pasemos de ambiciosos y terminemos plantando mas enemigos de los que podamos enfrentar o utilizando el mecanismo de bucle para aumentar la dificultad a cada enemigo cada vez que pasemos por nuestro punto de control.
Asi que bueno, estoy nuevamente retomando este juego y en las primeras horas me he divertido bastante muriendo a cada rato, este titulo no te pone facil absolutamente nada y esta muy confiado en que aprendamos todo lo que tiene para ofrecer a base de golpes, hasta ahora le ha funcionado ya que estoy mas enganchado que nunca aprendiendo como pasar el segundo de los bosses que tiene este juego, ¿cuantos tendra? no tengo ni la mas minima idea pero voy a averiguarlo.

Loop Hero might look and sound like one of the most static and boring video games, but believe me when I tell you that it is one of the most addictive I've played this year by far, its mechanics are so simple and lead to so much intensity that no wonder this title has a community with so much love behind it, its combination of the genre of real-time strategy with RPG caught me from the first moment, although I had doubts at first I think this game earns to be up there on the shelf of the best indie video games, period. And I swear to god I consider myself a dedicated gamer, you may have already read some of my posts breaking my head completing games like Cuphead or Hades without suffering too much, but this game, I don't know if it's its mechanics or it's the simple fact that the developers went overboard, that even to this day I haven't been able to complete, not even the main campaign.
Overall, Loop Hero is a strategy game, in which we are a hero trapped in a loop map, we will go through it fighting against all the monsters that come out but the twist is that not control the hero, but their environment and equipment, which we will modify to increase their attributes and tilt each battle in our favor, In the case of the scenario we will have cards that we will place on the stage to either summon monsters that serve us to find better equipment or put in the environment to improve the attributes of our hero, there are a lot of combinations and enemies so we always have to be attentive to the hero and his environment.
When you enter this game you don't really know what you are facing, the story is quite strange and the mechanics are not very explanatory at the beginning, they only tell you that with a right click you stop time in the loop and with the mouse you can place the cards that you get with each victory in battle, It took me a while the first time to fully understand what each of the cards works for (until today I'm still learning) but once you are somewhat clear about the mechanics and where the game is going it's very difficult not to become addicted to take it a little further in each new expedition.
The funny thing is that also the story goes according to all this mechanics based on forgetting and remembering, in each new expedition we jump in an empty loop but with each new card we can go turning the landscape and remember how everything was, only to fall back into that amnesia that characterizes each of the characters in this game, although there are several and this game has enough dialogues to read do not seem to me the most interesting, at least not as much as to stop me to read them every time they come out.
As we advance (and fail) we learn a little more about this world, new characters help us to build a small shelter in the storm and we learn a little more about why the world is in this chaos, every time we feel comfortable in any expedition we will be one step away from facing a new boss, It is not of those conventional final levels, but these have been the bars where the story if it grabs an interesting touch and much more gameplay that becomes practically impossible to beat, at least the first time we run into them.
The first few times we will find it frustrating to be beaten at the gates of completing any of these loops but then we will implement new strategies, the game is good for us to understand the function of each of the skills of our hero, there are not few so here I highlight all the combinations that we can use to finish and reach this final battle with all possible health, over time and defeats we become much stronger, knowing where and when to put each of the cards that we are given, playing a lot with the situation that we propose.
Gameplay is very balanced so that every time a situation, card or equipment favors you there is a relationship between improvement-disadvantage that always leaves you thinking if you made a good or bad decision, the game gives much room for us to go over ambitious and end up planting more enemies than we can face or using the loop mechanism to increase the difficulty of each enemy every time we pass through our checkpoint.
So well, I'm retaking this game again and in the first hours I've had a lot of fun dying all the time, this title doesn't make it easy at all and is very confident that we learn everything it has to offer based on hits, so far it has worked because I'm more hooked than ever learning how to pass the second of the bosses that this game has, how many will it have? I have no idea but I'm going to find out.
