I'm finally here with another game, a different one, breaking away from all that routine I've been cultivating with games like Hades 2 (review coming soon), I needed something new, so I went hunting for some indies that I thought were at a good price, I found some gems that have recently come out and I'm going to be playing this week, Nova Drift is the first one that I've installed and I've played it like crazy.
Once again, the roguelike seems to haunt me, although it seems that this time the formula is somewhat changed, Nova Drift is about a starship that has to face several hordes of ships enemies and dangers in space, the more we kill the more experience points we will have and the further we can go with all kinds of upgrades along the way.
The upgrade system in this game is very exciting, as I said every time we kill a ship we gain experience points, kill a few dozen and you will have an upgrade available that can be directed to various tools of the ship, from making the missile systems more precise or powerful to improving our shields, our movement or making all kinds of unique modifications that we will discover.
I discovered this game by following a content creator who is dedicated to exploring some gems that come out on the market and very few are those who know about them, this particular game has a limited fanbase but on Steam it seems to be quite a star, with a huge majority of positive reviews on steam and an almost perfect rating from users.
There is a lot of dynamism on the screen, we will have little space to move but we are resistant to a good number of attacks as well as having a shield that we can improve with the passing of the improvements, at the beginning we will have a couple of enemies that will only damage us superficially, we will take advantage of those levels to improve our ship, because what comes next can finish us off immediately
These are the bosses that are found every so many destroyed ships, and that appear sometimes expanding the stage for us although in most cases it will be all covered in lasers and missiles that we will have to avoid, many of these finish us off after a couple of seconds of hitting us, in addition to the fact that we are also having to look for the weak points of these ships that are usually in impact points that are quite complex to attack
I myself had a couple of concerns when I faced these bosses, although we almost always have a shield for a good part of the run if we don't finish off the boss It's of little use to us, besides that other enemy ships will also be coming out from the corners to attack us as well
This little game reminds me a lot of games like Vampire Survivors, where we are all the time in a fixed space repelling waves of enemies improving our stats and the attacks we can do, it's fun to a certain point, I see the appeal although seeing it from here I don't find it much more than a game to play when I'm bored or when I need a game to quickly analyze. Recommended.

Finalmente estoy aca con otro juego, uno diferente despegandome de toda esa rutina que he estado cultivando con juegos como Hades 2 (se viene review muy pronto), necesitaba algo nuevo, asi que me puse a cazar algunos indies que pensaba que estuviesen a buen precio, encontre algunas joyas que han salido recientemente y voy a estar jugando esta semana, Nova Drift es el primero de ellos que he instalado y he jugado a mas no poder.
Otra vez el roguelike parece que me persigue, aunque parece que esta vez la formula esta algo cambiada, Nova Drift trata de una nave estelar que tiene que enfrentarse a diversas ordas de naves enemigas y peligros en el espacio, mientras mas matemos mas puntos de experiencia tendreos y mas lejos podremos llegar con todo tipo de mejoras en el camino.
El sistema de mejoras en este juego es muy emocionante, como dije cada vez que acabamos con alguna nave ganamos puntos de experiencia, mata algunas decenas y tendras una mejora disponible que puede ir dirigida a diversas herramientas de la nave, desde hacer los sistemas de misiles mas precisos o poderosos hasta mejorar nuestros escudos, nuestro movimiento o hacer todo tipo de modificaciones unicas que iremos descubriendo.
Descubri este juego siguiendo a un creador de contenido que se dedica a explorar algunas joyas que salen al mercado y muy pocos son los que las conocen, este juego en particular tiene un fanbase limitado pero en Steam parece que es toda una estrella, con una mayoria enorme de reviews positivas en steam y una calificacion casi perfecta por parte de los usuarios.
Hay mucho dinamismo en pantalla, tendremos poco espacio para movernos pero somos resistentes a una buena cantidad de ataques ademas de tener tambien un escudo que podemos mejorar con el pasar de las mejoras, al principio tendremos un par de enemigos que solo nos dañaran de manera superficial, aprovecharemos esos niveles para mejorar nuestra nave, porque lo que viene despues puede acabar con nosotros de inmediato
Estos son los bosses que se encuentran cada tantas naves destruidas, y que aparecen algunas veces ampliando el escenario para nosotros aunque en la mayoria de los casos estara todo cubierto de laseres y misiles que tendremos que evitar, muchas de estas acaban con nosotros despues de un par de segundos de impactarnos, ademas de que estamos tambien teniendo que buscar los puntos debiles de estas naves que usualmente estan en puntos de impacto bastante complejos de atacar
Yo mismo tuve un par de preocupaciones cuando me enfrentaba a estos bosses, aunque tenemos casi siempre un escudo durante buena parte de la run si no acabamos con el jefe de poco nos sirve, ademas que tambien estaran saliendo otras naves enemigas de las esquinas para tambien atacarnos
Este pequeño juego me recuerda mucho a juegos como Vampire Survivors, en donde estamos todo tiempo en un espacio arreglado repeliendo olas de enemigos mejorando nuestras stats y los ataques que podemos hacer, es divertido hasta cierto punto, le veo el atractivo aunque viendolo desde aca no le encuentro mucho mas que un juego para jugar cuando estoy aburrido o cuando necesito algun juego para analizar rapidamente. Recomendado.
