On my PC, there are a handful of games that, for one reason or another, I don't complete and I leave them halfway through most of the time. This isn't intentional, but it happens to me often when a video game doesn't engage me as much as I'd like. You'd be surprised at the number of games that are highly rated by the community but end up falling into that hole I return to from time to time.
As if it were a matter of choosing who comes out of the abyss, today it was Hotline Miami 2's turn, which has been one of the sequels that has disappointed me the most due to how little it adds to the mix compared to the original. It continues. That's all the frenetic pace and how complex it usually is to complete its levels, but I found it largely boring. Maybe I blame some of it on the way the story is woven.
But I'll tell you that Hotline Miami is A game where we play a few levels with a vertical camera where we are either an assassin or a hitman. We infiltrate a location and what we have to do is eliminate everyone who gets in our way, just like that, clear the rooms until no one is left and then go up to the next floor and repeat.
This concept in the first game won the hearts of many players. At first, I saw that the gameplay was straightforward and without any games in between. Either we paid attention to threats or we ended up dead and started over. And wow, eliminating everyone in a room has never been more Difficult
To do this, we have a whole set of weapons at our disposal, from knives and machetes that we can take from guards or enemies that cross our path to the classic Uzi or shotguns that make eliminating enemies more than simple. The difficult thing here is that if they hit us even once, we fall to the ground and don't get up.
We have to start over. It's this obsession with completing levels in one hit that had kept me playing the game. I think they're quite complicated and, in some cases, even unfair to the player. Often, enemies come from blind spots or have long-range weapons. range that makes it impossible for us to even think about dodging them.
I think that's my first criticism of the game. The enemies that have bats or wait for us around some corner with a knife don't interest me too much. The ones that really bother us are the ones you don't see coming and they send you back to the beginning without responding.
At first, the stages are easy and barely put us against thugs who block our path too much. But once the pistols and shotguns arrive, we'll have to be very careful and have some strategy in place. medium
I've developed one to take advantage of the machine. In this game, everyone is very sensitive, so any noise we make will be quickly investigated. We can use that to slowly finish it off. with all the enemies in an area and move on to the next, repeating the same process until we finish the level.
One of the things that surprises players the most is the brutality in this game, and also how abstract the story is, and I think this is another point that bothers me: not having a clear objective or some context about what's happening and why I'm killing so many people just because.
I guess those are questions for some YouTuber who'll take the time to compile the story and make sense of it, because for me this game has only been an excuse to improve my movements and demonstrate a bit of brutality towards police officers and prostitutes. Not very inspiring but fun nonetheless. Good gameplay if you're just looking for a game to play for a while, but I've been disappointed in everything. else

En mi pc hay un puñado de juegos que por una cosa u otra no los completo y los dejo a la mitad la mayoría de las veces, no es intencional esto pero me pasa seguido cuando un videojuego no me engancha tanto como quisiera, y se sorprenderían la cantidad de juegos que están muy bien valorados por la comunidad pero que terminan entrando en ese hoyo al que vuelvo cada tanto
Como si de elegir a quien sale del abismo se tratase hoy le tocó a Hotline Miami 2 que ha sido de las secuelas que mas me ha decepcionado por lo poco que agrega a la mezcla en relación con el original, sigue ahí todo el frenetismo y lo complejo que suele ser completar sus niveles pero en buena parte me ha parecido aburrido, quizá algo le eche la culpa a como esta hilada la historia
Pero les cuento que Hotline Miami es un juego en donde jugamos unos niveles con una cámara vertical en donde somos ya sea un asesino o un maton a sueldo, nos infiltran en alguna locación y lo que tenemos que hacer es eliminar a todo el que se nos meta en medio, asi sin mas, limpiar las salas hasta que no quede nadie y después subir al siguiente piso y repetir
Este concepto en el primer juego se gano el corazón de muchos jugadores, de primeras vi que la jugabilidad era directa y sin juegos en el medio, o nos poníamos atentos a las amenazas o terminábamos muertos y empezando nuevamente, y vaya que eliminar a todos los que están en una habitación nunca ha sido mas difícil
Para hacerlo tenemos todo un set de armas a nuestra disposición, desde cuchillos y machetes que les podemos quitar a los guardias o enemigos que se nos crucen en el camino hasta las clásicas uzi o escopetas que hacen que eliminar enemigos sea mas que sencillo, lo difícil aca es que como nos den un solo golpe caemos al suelo y no nos levantamos
Hay que empezar nuevamente, es esa obsesion de completar los niveles de un solo golpe lo que me había mantenido en el juego, creo que son bastante complicados y hasta en algunos casos injustos con el jugador, muchas veces los enemigos vienen de puntos ciegos o tienen armas de largo alcance que hace imposible que siquiera pensemos en esquivarlos
Creo que esa es mi primera critica con el juego, los enemigos que tienen bates o nos esperan en alguna esquina con un cuchillo no me interesan demasiado, los que si molestan todo el tiempo son los que no ves venir y te mandan al inicio sin respuesta,
Al comienzo los escenarios son fáciles y apenas nos ponen contra matones que nos bloqueen demasiado el camino, pero una vez llegan las pistolas y las escopetas tendremos que andarnos con mucho cuidado y tener cierta estrategia en el medio
Yo he desarrollado una para tomar ventaja de la maquina, en este juego todos son muy sensitivos por lo que cualquier ruido que hagamos será investigado rápidamente, podemos usar eso para ir acabando de a poco con todos los enemigos de una zona y pasar a la siguiente y repetir el mismo proceso hasta que acabemos con el nivel.
Una de las cosas que mas sorprenden a los jugadores es la brutalidad que hay en este juego, y también lo abstracta que es la historia que cuentan y pienso que este es otro de los puntos que me molesta, el no tener un objetivo claro o algo de contexto sobre lo que esta pasando y por que estoy acabando con tantas personas solo porque si
Supongo que esas son preguntas para algún youtuber que se esmere en recopilar la historia y darle sentido, porque para mi este juego solo ha sido una excusa para mejorar mis movimientos y demostrar un poco de brutalidad hacia policías y prostitutas, no muy inspirador pero divertido al fin y al cabo, buena jugabilidad si solo estas buscando un juego para el rato pero me ha decepcionado en todo lo demás
Y bueno si les gustan estos análisis de juegos háganmelo saber porque estoy pensando en mi cabeza desde hace días hacer algún canal de youtube para analizar juegos, la mayoría de lo que escribo en torno a los videojuegos lo pongo por estos lares pero me gustaría mucho hacer contenido audiovisual, quizá en 3speak también aunque no lo tengo muy en claro.
