It's been a couple of weeks since I finally finished everything there was to do on the Hades sequel, or at least everything there was to do at that point because you'll already know that this is a game that isn't actually released yet, but is in Early Access or a preview so that users can give the developers extra support to understand what they like and what they need to change.
Needless to say, most of what's in the game today is of a very high level, and you could even say that in its current state it could easily compete. for winning the title of Game of the Year, but I've already talked about that in other posts, and I think I'll only repeat it when I do the final analysis. We'll focus on the characters' stories.
Hades is a game set, as you can probably guess, in Greek mythology, along with all the classic gods we know like Zeus and Apollo. But what I have noticed is that the story has some very contemporary overtones and also dares to modernize many concepts without losing the essence of the gods. Greeks
Melinoe, one of Hades' daughters, is the protagonist of the second installment, which once again pits the Olympus family against a threat. This time, it's the Titans of Time and several other mythological beings who rebel against Olympus and unleash a war in both the Underworld and the land of mortals. Chronos, the Titan of Time, is the main enemy to defeat, but in between, there are different conflicts.
Let's start by saying that each and every one of the new characters they add are simply impressive, both in design and in the universe. The mini-story behind them is incredibly extensive, and the developer manages to incorporate every detail of these mythological characters into the story in a very fluid way that doesn't affect the plot in almost any way, but rather is used anecdotally.
Each of the characters we meet at the base at the beginning of the game have their own stories and are based on some of the most representative characters from mythology. However, just because they are recognized doesn't mean they are good characters in and of themselves. The game builds an entire arc for them that we discover throughout. We might fail the main objective and return to talk to them.
The theme of family is once again very clear in this game, but now it's a bit more global due to the entire war going on in the Underworld and on Olympus. It's very interesting to see how the different characters we meet along the way in each of the routes have their own views on this conflict, quite different from ours.
For example, Prometheus, the Titan who can see into the future, is on Cronus's side. This is very surprising about the characters in the games because he's able to see the future and could be on the winning side, facing us knowing we're going to lose. There's also a whole arc about whether the gods are worse than those attacking them.
There are many characters whose mythology and history we talk about have been punished by the gods, and we don't meet them along the way. I think there will be an arc in the future following this logic that the gods are terrible and Cronus is only changing that natural order. I think it's a good story to tell.
There are even characters who truly hate the gods, and with good reason. Prometheus himself was tortured by the Olympian gods for giving fire to humans. This is pretty cool because that actually happened in mythology. They're taking that myth and giving it a twist, making the story much richer. understand
Melinoe is also an interesting character. Playing someone who has been training her entire life to confront the time force can be a point of conflict, learning that many of the gods she believes are benevolent and help her on her path have committed atrocities against many of the characters we see.
Echo is one of them, too, that we find in the Valley of Sorrows, and she has a rather murky history in mythology. I hope this character gets the most out of what she has to offer, especially with that dichotomy where the gods are excellent but at other times they are barbarians who torture many.
There's a lot to learn from this type of game, and with the excellent narrative that this studio proposes, I think we're going to have a story on par with the first game. For me, I think it's one of the best stories that video games can have this year, and I hope I'm not wrong about that. prediction

Han pasado ya un par de semanas desde que por fin terminé todo lo que había por hacer en la secuela de Hades, o al menos todo lo que había por hacer en ese momento porque ya sabrán que este es un juego que todavía no está estrenado propiamente sino que está en un acceso anticipado o un preestreno para que los usuarios le den un apoyo extra a los desarrolladores para entender qué es lo que le gusta y que deben cambiar
Sobra decir que la mayoría de lo que está hoy en el juego es de un altísimo nivel y hasta podría decirse que en el estado actual en el que está podría competir fácilmente por obtener el título de juego del año pero de eso ya he hablado en otros post y creo que solo voy a repetirlo cuando haga el análisis final, nos enfocaremos en la historia de los personajes
Hades es un juego que está ambientado como mucho ya podrán intuir en la mitología griega, junto con todos los dioses clásicos que conocemos como Zeus o Apolo pero lo que sí he notado es que la historia tiene algunos tintes bastante contemporáneos y se atreve también a modernizar muchos conceptos sin perder la esencia de los dioses griegos
Melinoe, una de las hijas de Hades es la protagonista de la segunda entrega que enfrenta nuevamente a la familia del Olimpo a una amenaza, esta vez en los Titanes del tiempo y varios otros seres mitológicos que se revelan ante el Olimpo y desatan una guerra tanto en el Inframundo como en la tierra de los mortales, Chronos, el titán del tiempo el principal enemigo a vencer pero en el medio hay distintos conflictos
Empecemos por decir que todos y cada uno de los personajes nuevos que agregan son sencillamente impresionantes tanto en diseño como en la mini historia que tienen detrás, hay un estudio increíblemente extenso sobre estos personajes y el estudio desarrollador se las arregla para incluir cada uno de los detalles de esos personajes mitológicos a la historia de una forma muy fluida y que no afecta la trama en casi ningún sentido sino que se usa de forma anecdótica
Cada uno de los personajes que nos encontramos en la base al comienzo del juego tienen sus propias historias y están basados en algunos de los personajes más representativos de la mitología, pero no por ser reconocidos en sí mismo son buenos personajes sino que el juego construye todo un arco para ellos que vamos descubriendo a lo largo de que fallemos en el objetivo principal y volvamos para hablar con ellos
La temática de la familia nuevamente está muy clara en este juego pero ahora es un poco más global debido a toda la guerra que está sucediendo en el Inframundo y en el Olimpo, muy curioso ver como los diferentes personajes que nos vamos encontrando por el camino en cada una de las rutas tienen sus propias visiones sobre este conflicto, una bastante diferente a las que tenemos nosotros
Por ejemplo prometeo que es el titán que puede ver hacia el futuro que está de parte de cronos, algo que sorprende mucho de los personajes de los juegos debido a que él es capaz de ver el futuro y puede ser que esté del lado ganador enfrentandonos sabiendo que vamos a perder, también hay todo un arco sobre si los dioses están siendo peor que los que los atacan
Hay muchos personajes que sí hablamos de la mitología y de su historia han sido castigados por los dioses y no los encontramos por el camino, creo que va a haber en el futuro algún arco siguiendo esta lógica de que los dioses son terribles y cronos lo único que está haciendo es cambiar ese orden natural, creo que es una buena historia para contar
Incluso hay personajes que de verdad odian a los dioses y con buena razón, el mismo prometeo fue torturado por los dioses del Olimpo por haber dado el fuego a los humanos y esto es bastante cool porque eso en la mitología realmente pasó están agarrando ese mito y dándole un giro haciendo que la historia sea mucho más rica de entender
Melinoe es también interesante como personaje, hacer a alguien que toda su vida ha estado entrenando para enfrentarse a la fuerza del tiempo puede ser un punto de conflicto enterarse que muchos de los dioses que ella cree que son benevolentes y la ayudan en su camino han cometido atrocidades contra muchos de los personajes que vemos
Echo es una de ellas también que nos encontramos en el valle de lamentos y tiene una historia bastante turbia en la mitología, espero que este personaje le saquen el jugo con lo que tiene que ofrecer en especial con esa dicotomía en donde los dioses son excelentes pero en otras ocasiones son unos bárbaros que torturan a varios
Mucho que sacar en este tipo de juegos y además con la excelente narrativa que propone este estudio creo que vamos a tener una historia a la altura del primer juego y para mí creo que es una de las mejores historias que puede tener el videojuego este año y espero no equivocarme con esa predicción
