Whenever I seem to be running out of topics to talk about on this blog, a spark of inspiration always appears to revisit some of the best games I've ever played, several of them now that I have a more or less decent PC to run them or at least try to do so.
Today it was the turn of shooters, which is a genre that although I do like them I can't say that I'm very passionate about them, I've had some close contacts with battlefield from which I've learned a lot, especially in its online but I can't say the same about all the shooters
Coincidentally my favorite video game of this genre is a single player game with a gameplay that is not very inspired or original, in fact you could say that at its foundations there is everything that the shooters of that time did but what really stands out and what I like to focus my tastes on is the story and the plot it tells
And Spec Ops the line is a tremendous video game in this matter, it has the classic gameplay of the Shooter of that time that was very inspired by the shooting and the cover that Gears of War introduced. war, but now focusing on the military shooter that games like call of duty or battlefield itself brought
The thing is that there are several different things, for example the setting where this video game takes place, being a Dubai destroyed by sandstorms the chosen landscape and behind this a plot more intelligent than one believes at the beginning and captivating like no other shooting game
I think it is only uncharted or tlou have this level of cohesion between gameplay and story, because the story of sergeant walker struggling between life and death in the Dubai desert opens the mind a lot about the plot that certain shooting games could have and They will strive to develop this asset
The gameplay has some interesting ideas like the destructible environments and some well thought out and creative scenarios with the landscape that gives us a desert and death-filled Dubai, they are still the classic shots where we get waves of enemies after waves of enemies but they are enjoyed just the same, they do not falter at all and integrate some good mechanics
There from giving orders to our companions to eliminate some threat to using stealth on some occasions to finish off the enemies silently and without entering into direct conflict, this may be useful in the highest difficulty although the difficulty I chose will already be difficult enough for having me stuck on one part for an hour
But if there is something that stands out in this game is its narrative and I particularly remember how it impacted me to play it from beginning to end and discover all the secrets and all the clues of the real reason for Walker's mission in Dubai, there are several spoilers but I will tell you in thematic some of the moments that I most vividly remember from this game
The title deals a lot with the psychological wear and tear that a soldier has on the ground and after having gone to war, he does so through Our three protagonists who throughout their stay in a destroyed society are slowly going crazy
It is a devastating journey from beginning to end and I think that everything in this game is mixed in a perfect way to give the message that the plot wants to give and well, speaking to you a little about the end, I think that this is one of the video games that deals very seriously with the risks of war and how a soldier can act in a psychopathic way in it
It is a very good game on all sides and although I played it at the age of 12, it is still one of my favorites, partly because the industry has not been able to bring out any other work that fills that space where the plot and the development of characters go in such a way as this one has done.

Cuando aparece que me quedo sin temas para hablar en este blog siempre aparece una chispa de inspiración para revisitar algunos de los mejores juegos que he jugado en mi vida, varios de ellos ahora que tengo una PC más o menos decente para correrlos o al menos intentar hacerlo
Hoy le tocaba el turno a los shooters que es un género que aunque sí me gustan no puedo decir que esté muy apasionado a ellos, he tenido algunos contactos cercanos con battlefield de los que he sacado bastante sobre todo en su online pero no puedo decir lo mismo de todos los shooter
Casualmente mi videojuego favorito de este género es de un solo jugador y con una jugabilidad no muy inspirada ni original, de hecho se podría decir que en sus bases está todo lo que los shooters de esa época hacían pero en lo que de verdad destaca y en lo que me gusta enfocar mis gustos en la historia y en la trama que cuenta
Y Spec Ops the line es un videojuego tremendo en este asunto, tiene la jugabilidad clásica del Shooter de aquella época que estaba muy inspirada en los disparos y la cobertura que introdujo gears of war, pero ahora enfocándose en el Shooter militar qué juegos como call of duty o el mismo battlefield traían
La cuestión es que hay varias cosas diferentes, por ejemplo el escenario en donde se desarrolla este videojuego, siendo una Dubai destrozada por las tormentas de arena el paisaje escogido y detrás de esto una trama más inteligente de lo que uno crea el principio y atrapante como ningún otro juego de disparos
Creo que es solo uncharted o tlou tienen este nivel de cohesión entre la jugabilidad y la historia, porque la historia de sargento walker debatiéndose entre la vida y la muerte en el desierto de Dubai abre mucho la cabeza sobre la trama que podrían tener ciertos juegos de disparos y se esforzaran en desarrollar este activo
La jugabilidad tiene algunas ideas interesantes como los entornos destructibles y algunos escenarios bastante pensados y creativos con el paisaje que nos da una desértica y llena de muerte Dubai, no dejan de ser los clásicos tiros en donde nos llegan uriadas de enemigos tras goleadas de enemigos pero se disfruta de igual forma, no flaquean nada e integra algunas mecánicas buenas
Ahí desde dar órdenes a nuestros compañeros para eliminar alguna amenaza hasta usar el sigilo en algunas ocasiones para terminar con los enemigos de forma silenciosa y sin entrar en conflicto directo, esto quizás sea útil en la dificultad de más elevadas aunque la dificultad que escogí yo ya estará lo suficientemente difícil como para tenerme atascado en una parte durante una hora
Pero si hay algo en lo que destaca este juego es su narrativa y recuerdo particularmente como me impactó jugarlo de principio a fin y descubrir todos los secretos y todas las pistas del motivo real de la misión de walker en Dubai, hay varios spoilers pero les comentaré en temáticas algunos de los momentos que más vividamente recuerdo de este juego
El título trata mucho el desgaste psicológico que tiene un soldado sobre el terreno y después de haber ido a la guerra, lo hace a través de nuestros tres protagonistas que a lo largo de su estancia en una destruida sociedad se van desquiciando de a poco
Es un viaje devastador de principio a fin y creo que todo en este juego se mezcla de una forma perfecta para dar el mensaje que quiere dar la trama y bueno hablándoles un poco del final creo que este es uno de los videojuegos que trata con mucha seriedad los riesgos de la guerra y como un soldado puede actuar de forma psicópata en ella
Es muy buen juego por todos los lados y aunque lo jugué a la edad de 12 años sigue siendo de mis favoritos, en parte porque la industria no ha podido sacar alguna otra obra que me llene ese espacio en donde va la trama y el desarrollo de personajes de tal forma como lo ha hecho este juego
