We continue with my little trip to games that I started but for one thing or another I didn't finish, I left my old pc where I lived and bought one in USA so I'm just now following the saves I had in my pendrive about the games I had, Dave the Diver hadn't been a game that had entertained me too much, mostly because of some slowness in its UI but I decided to get into it again because I saw some details that called me.
This is the last of the games I'll be revisiting at least for now, I already have enough to play with Dead Cells and I'm seriously thinking about playing Hollow Knight since I'm in the metroidvania fever, both titles are highly recommended and I already have several reviews covering them on my blog, you can't go wrong with either one of them.
Despite what the title says, this is not a purely Dave the Diver game, there is so much more, ohh boy so much more we can do and it reminds me of those indie games like Stardew Valley that start with a simple task and get more and more complicated until we get into the craziest situations, but at the beginning it all starts off very smoothly.
We are Dave, a diver who is in the middle of his holiday when he is called by a business partner with a unique opportunity, to come to a certain lake in the middle of nowhere to help set up a sushi restaurant, fishing for everything that exists in the depths, after a little hesitation we set off on the adventure to find a lake full of unknown fish.
Some rare event had mixed several types of fish and now this lake had become a menu of exotic flavours that we could fish for our sushi bar, the gameplay when we are diving is somewhat simple, we have to collect all the fish we can as well as the useful things we find in the sea, we have an oxygen tank that when it runs out returns us to the boat as well as a harpoon and a knife, each one to catch good sized fish.
Although we have a time limit to grab everything we can under the sea the game is somewhat relaxing, it doesn't penalise too much if we run out of oxygen, it only takes away part of the load but it doesn't push us to stay too close to the surface as we can count on escape pods that allow us to return to the surface quickly while several metres below the lake, so exploration is not often interrupted by the lack of oxygen which can often be misleading.
We have two opportunities to fish in the lake, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, for the evening we enter a completely different section of the game where we have to run the sushi restaurant, we will have to be the waiter for the customers who come to the bar, take their meals, serve them drinks and at the end of it all clean up to finish the day and repeat the cycle.
In the middle of it all is a story that is told in bits and pieces, first with side quests in which we are introduced to characters who want to know more about the strange nature of the lake so that we investigate deeper and find more secrets, there can be anything from treasure chests to ancient blueprints and some exotic fish that are the most complex to catch, so here we will surely improve our equipment.
Along with these characters also comes the opportunity to understand a little more about the history of the lake and how it came to be in the status it is in, a few days after opening the bar a professor came near us to tell us the story of how an ancient civilization of amphibians lived in the lake long ago and that if we helped him to discover the ruins of the same we would improve our suit, of course we accepted.
Dave the Diver is a box of surprises, behind some simple mechanics there is a lot of depth to what we can do in these, they unlock new options on our phone and we have more equipment to catch bigger fish and even drag cargo to the surface, it is a game in parts relaxing and interesting, I still don't have too much depth in it but I will keep trying to get to interesting places under the sea.

Seguimos con mi pequeño viaje hacia juegos que empece pero por una u otra cosa no logre terminar, deje mi vieja pc en donde vivia y me compre una en USA asi que recien ahora estoy siguiendo los guardados que tenia en mi pendrive sobre los juegos que tenia, Dave the Diver no habia sido un juego que me haya entretenido demasiado, mas que nada por algunas lentitudes en su UI pero decidi meterme nuevamente porque vi algunos detalles que me llaman.
Este sera el ultimo de los juegos que estare revisitando al menos de momento, ya tengo bastante que jugar con Dead Cells y estoy pensando seriamente en pasarme Hollow Knight ya que estoy metido en la fiebre de los metroidvania, ambos titulos mu recomendados y de los cuales ya tengo varios analisis cubriendolos en mi blog, no te puedes equivocar con ninguno de los dos.
A pesar de lo que dice su titulo, este no es un juego puramente de Dave the Diver, hay mucho mas, ohh chico muchisimo mas que podemos hacer y me recuerda a esos juegos indie como Stardew Valley que empiezan con una tarea sencilla y se van complicando mas y mas hasta que llegamos a situaciones de lo mas descabelladas, pero al comienzo todo empieza muy tranquilo.
Somos Dave, un buzo que esta en el medio de sus vacaciones cuando lo llama un socio de negocios con una oportunidad unica, venir a cierto lago en el medio de la nada a ayudar a montar un restaurante de sushi, pescando todo lo que existe en las profundidades, despues de un poco de dudas nos lanzamos a la aventura para encontrarnos con un lago lleno de peces desconocidos.
Algun raro evento habia mezclado varios tipos de peces y ahora este lago se habia convertido en un menu de sabores exoticos que podiamos pescar para nuestro sushi bar, la jugabilidad cuando estamos buceando es algo simple, tenemos que recolectar todos los peces que podamos asi como las cosas utiles que encontremos en el mar, tenemos un tanque de oxigeno que al acabarse nos regresa al bote asi como un arpon y un cuchillo, cada uno para cazar peces de buen tamaño.
Aunque tenemos un tiempo limite para agarrar todo lo que podamos debajo del mar el juego si que es algo relajante, no penaliza demasiado si nos quedamos sin oxigeno, solo nos quita parte de la carga pero tampoco nos impulsa a quedarnos muy cerca de la superficie ya que podemos contar con capsulas de escape que nos permiten volver a la superficie de forma rapida estando varios metros debajo del lago, asi que la exploracion no se ve a menudo interrumpida por la falta de oxigeno que muchas veces puede ser engañosa.
Tenemos dos oportunidades de pescar en el lago, una en la mañana y otra en la tarde, para la noche entramos a una seccion del juego completamente distinta en donde tenemos que llevar el restaurante de sushi, tendremos que ser el mesero de los clientes que lleguen al bar, llevar sus comidas, servirles bebidas y al final de todo limpiar para terminar el dia y repetir el ciclo.
En el medio de todo hay una historia que se va contando de a trozos, primero con misiones secundarias en el que nos introducen personajes que quieren saber mas de la naturaleza extraña que tiene el lago para que investiguemos a mas profundidad y encontremos mas secretos, puede haber desde cofres del tesoro hasta antiguos planos y algunos peces exoticos que son de los mas complejos de pescar, por lo que aca seguramente mejoraremos nuestro equipo.
Tambien junto con estos personajes sale la oportunidad de entender un poco mas sobre la historia del lago y como llego a estar en el status en el que esta, a pocos dias de abrir el bar llego cerca de nosotros un profesor a contarnos la historia de como una civilizacion antigua de anfibios vivia en el lago hace mucho tiempo y que si le ayudabamos a descubrir las ruinas de la misma nos iba a mejorar nuestro traje, por supuesto que aceptamos.
Dave the Diver es una caja de sorpresas, detras de unas simples mecanicas hay mucha profundidad de lo que podemos hacer en estas, nos desbloquean nuevas opciones en nuestro telefono y tenemos mas equipamiento para pescar peces mas grandes e incluso arrastrar cargo hasta la superficie, es un juego en partes relajante e interesante, aun no tengo demasiada profundidad en el pero seguire tratando de llegar hasta sitios interesantes debajo del mar.
