Paso un tiempo antes de que en Sony se dieran cuenta de que debian dar este paso pero al final aqui lo tenemos, el nuevo PS Plus es el servicio de suscripcion de varios niveles en la plataforma de Playstation, se inspira un poco en lo que ya venia haciendo Microsoft con su Game Pass pero amplia la propuesta de juegos y tambien agrega algunas funciones interesantes, estuve investigando a fondo que incluian cada uno de los niveles de suscripcion y aunque pienso que al servicio le hace falta madurar es un buen paso para Sony y Playstation, y si no me creen tan solo pasense por el listdo de juegos que ofrecen y veran que al menos vale la pena probar con la prueba gratis que dan.
Vamos con lo primero, el servicio de suscripcion de Playstation nacio alla hace varios años cuando estabamos viendo el boom del online en el videojuego, la Playstation 3 y el Xbox 360 dominaban la escena en este sentido y varios titulos de franquicias como Call Of Duty o FIFA estaban explorando varias opciones para incluir servidores que permitiesen a sus jugadores jugar en partidas en linea, para los que tuvieron Xbox en aquella epoca seguro se les hara conocida la suscripcion Gold que permitia jugar online ademas de tener algunos descuentos y hasta 2 juegos gratis cada mes, yo la disfrute demasiado cuando tenia la consola pero siempre habia tenido curiosidad sobre el servicio al otro lado del charco, el de Playstation.
Playstation Plus y su continua evolucion
El servicio Plus de Playstation 3 se asimilaba un poco al servicio de Microsoft, aunque el online en teoria era gratis para la consola con esta suscripcion podias mejorar significativamente la experiencia en los juegos online ademas de tener los ya vistos descuentos en los juegos y 2 titulos gratis cada mes, en Sony estuvieron durante 2 generaciones mas (Playstation 4 y 5) con este modelo que con el crecimiento de los videojuegos funciono como un agregado extra para que Playstation generase ganancias, no mucho se puede decir de ese periodo de 2 generaciones pero el verdadero cambio vino no de la propia Sony sino de su competencia.
El Gamepass hacia acto de presencia y cambiaba el rumbo de la industria para los proximos años, Microsoft ahora ofrecia una suscripcion que permitia jugar a un catalogo de juegos enorme, pudiendo instalarlos a tu consola y jugarlos como si fuesen tuyos por el costo de una suscripcion en Netflix, un cambio masivo que obligo a Playstation a renovarse, tardaron un tiempo en ver este cambio como "el camino" pero ya lo tenemos entre nosotros.
Aunque muchos (yo incluido) estabamos esperando un servicio completamente nuevo y apartado de PS Plus lo cierto es que en Sony decidieron abaratar costos y renovar un servicio que ya conocen los jugadores, el PS Plus de hoy en dia es un servicio que millones de jugadores tienen y veo sentido en solo darle un lavado de caras o en este caso agregar niveles de suscripcion, algo que considero bastante interesante ya que de esta manera los usuarios tienen mas opciones para escoger, algunas que se ajusten a sus presupuestos y otras a los beneficios que quieran obtener de este servicio, insisto me hubiese gustado mucho mas un servicio creado desde 0 pero explicare un poco de que se tratan estos niveles y que beneficios tiene cada uno.
Playstation Plus Essential
Puedo decir que este es el nivel mas basico de PS Plus y se basa en mantener todo lo que tenia hasta la fecha el antiguo servicio, dos juegos descargables al mes, acceso al multijugador online, descuentos exclusivos en la tienda de Playstation y la posibilidad de guardar tus partidas en la nube, no demasiado pero si manteniendo el precio del servicio original asi que como paquete basico lo veo razonable.
Playstation Plus Extra
Aqui es donde ya se empiezan a notar los cambios en el servicio, ahora pasamos a tener algo similar al Gamepass de Microsoft y tendremos todos los beneficios del paquete Essential y sumando a eso la posibilidad de descargar y jugar de un catalogo de juegos algunos de los titulos creados por el Studio Playstation ademas de otros creadores asociados, es aqui en donde podemos empezar a ver los pesos pesados que han llegado a este catalogo como God Of War, The Last Of Us o uno de mis favoritos de Rockstar Red Dead Redemption 2, igual tendremos hasta 400 juegos a los que se les pueden sumar muchos mas a medida que Sony vaya creando los caminos para hacerlo.
Playstation Plus Premium
Aunque es justo hacer notar que el servicio Premium mejora a la version extra del servicio la verdad es que no veo demasiado beneficio pagar mas por lo qe ofrece este ultimo nivel, que agrega al catalogo original de juegos algunos titulos de consolas anteriores como la Playstation 1, 2, 3 y PSP, tambien incluye la opcion de jugar algunos juegos en la nube y demos de juegos por salir por un tiempo limitado (quiza la mas atractiva) yo por mi parte no lo pagaria pero conozco aficionados a Playstation que si darian ese extra por jugar algunas de las demos de los proximos lanzamientos de Playstation.
Hablemos de juegos, porque en el nuevo catalogo de PS Plus hay una variedad y sobretodo cantidad de juegos que incluso puede presumir de ya estar en la conversacion sobre que servicio de "streaming de videojuegos" es mejor, en este aspecto quiza el servicio de Playstation tenga que mejorar algunas cosas pero dejame darte un tour por algunos de los mejores juegos que pude conseguir en este catalogo de casi 400 juegos.

Hay muchisimos mas juegos pero llenaria el post tan solo nombrandolos, estos son algunos de los que mas me llaman la atencion para jugar, como en todos los catalogos enormes hay juegos que se nota estan en la lista para ocupar un espacio pero pienso genuinamente que el catalogo de este servicio no esta nada mal, de hecho me sorprende la calidad de juegos que pude conseguir.

Me voy a decantar por dar una recomendacion amplia a ese servicio, es identico mi argumento al que use con mi post sobre el Gamepass, el precio esta bien al menos en el paquete Extra, el contenido que atrae ademas de ser enorme tambien hay varios titulos de calidad para jugar y si eres un fan de la playstation clasica tienes una puerta de entrada para jugar algunos de los titulos clasicos de la consola, para mi es un ganar-ganar para el usuario, pero ahora te toca a ti, que piensas de este nuevo servicio de Playstation y como afectara la industria del videojuego?

Playstation Plus and its continuing evolution
The Playstation 3 Plus service was somewhat similar to Microsoft's service, although the online in theory was free for the console with this subscription you could significantly improve the online gaming experience in addition to having the already seen discounts on games and 2 free titles every month, Sony was for 2 more generations (Playstation 4 and 5) with this model that with the growth of video games worked as an added extra for Playstation to generate profits, not much can be said about that period of 2 generations but the real change came not from Sony itself but from its competition.
Gamepass made an appearance and changed the course of the industry for the next few years, Microsoft now offered a subscription that allowed you to play a huge catalog of games, being able to install them to your console and play them as if they were yours for the cost of a Netflix subscription, a massive change that forced Playstation to renew itself, it took a while to see this change as "the way" but we already have it among us.
Although many (myself included) were waiting for a completely new service and apart from PS Plus the truth is that Sony decided to cut costs and renew a service that players already know, PS Plus today is a service that millions of players have and I see sense in just giving it a facelift or in this case add levels of subscription, something that I consider quite interesting because this way users have more options to choose from, some that fit their budgets and others to the benefits they want to get from this service, I insist I would have liked much more a service created from 0 but I will explain a little of what these levels are about and what benefits each one has.
Playstation Plus Essential
This is the most basic level of PS Plus and is based on keeping everything that the old service had to date, two downloadable games per month, access to online multiplayer, exclusive discounts in the Playstation store and the ability to save your games in the cloud, not too much but keeping the price of the original service so as a basic package I see it as reasonable.
Playstation Plus Extra
Here is where we start to notice the changes in the service, now we have something similar to Microsoft's Gamepass and we will have all the benefits of the Essential package and adding to that the possibility to download and play from a catalog of games some of the titles created by Studio Playstation as well as other associated creators, It is here where we can start to see the heavyweights that have come to this catalog as God Of War, The Last Of Us or one of my favorite Rockstar Red Dead Redemption 2, we will still have up to 400 games to which you can add many more as Sony will create ways to do so.
Playstation Plus Premium
While it is fair to note that the Premium service improves the extra version of the service the truth is that I do not see too much benefit to pay more for what it offers this last level, which adds to the original catalog of games some titles from previous consoles such as Playstation 1, 2, 3 and PSP, also includes the option to play some games in the cloud and demos of games to be released for a limited time (perhaps the most attractive) I for my part would not pay it but I know Playstation fans that if they would give that extra to play some of the demos of the next releases of Playstation.
Let's talk about games, because in the new PS Plus catalog there is a variety and above all amount of games that can even boast of already being in the conversation about which "video game streaming" service is better, in this aspect perhaps the Playstation service has to improve some things but let me give you a tour of some of the best games I could get in this catalog of almost 400 games.

There are many more games but it would fill the post just naming them, these are some of the ones that catch my attention to play, as in all the huge catalogs there are games that are on the list to occupy a space but I genuinely think that the catalog of this service is not bad at all, in fact I am surprised by the quality of games that I could get.
This JEWEL of a game is also in the catalog.
Is it worth it?
I' m going to go with giving a broad recommendation to that service, it's identical my argument to the one I used with my post about Gamepass, the price is right at least in the Extra package, the content that attracts besides being huge there are also several quality titles to play and if you are a fan of the classic playstation you have a gateway to play some of the classic titles of the console, for me it is a win-win for the user, but now it's your turn, what do you think of this new Playstation service and how it will affect the video game industry?
