No Batman, no problem 🙌

Gotham Knights was recently added to the PS Plus Extra/Premium game catalog during the month of October 2023. This is a game that I've been curious to play for a while but refused to pay money to test it. I've seen it on sale for dirt cheap several times, as it didn't review all that well. However, my patience has paid off and now it is in my library at no extra cost. Time to give this a try.

Gotham Knights is an action-adventure video game developed by Warner Bros. Games Montreal and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Set in the iconic DC Comics universe, the game explores the aftermath of Batman's apparent death and the rise of a new generation of heroes in Gotham City. Players take on the roles of four different characters, including Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin, each with their unique combat styles and abilities. This diversity in playable characters allows for dynamic gameplay and strategic choices as players team up to protect Gotham from various threats.

The game's open-world environment showcases Gotham City in all its glory, complete with a dark and gritty atmosphere that captures the essence of the Batman universe. Going into this, I imagined that Gotham Knights would basically be Batman: Arkham City with co-op, minus Batman. That pretty much is what it is. You can play as Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood. The combat is very familiar, which is good and bad. If you miss the Batman games from years ago, this will be perfect for you. Fans of DC Comics won't want to miss the epic story that this game offers.
