I thought bank heists were supposed to be fun 💰🏦💸

Since getting my Xbox Series S and gaining access to a large library of games with Game Pass, I've been trying out a lot of new games. Payday 3 is the latest game on my list. I played the second game, but never really got super into it. The idea of stealing a bunch of money with friends is cool, but there are just so many other games I'd rather be playing usually. I still wanted to give this one a shot.

Payday 3 is the latest installment in the popular cooperative first-person shooter series developed by Starbreeze Studios. Known for its intense heist gameplay and team-based mechanics, the Payday series places players in the roles of skilled criminals executing elaborate robberies and missions. If you are playing alone or with people who do not have mics to communicate, you are in for a haphazard ride.

I noticed right away that not a lot of people are playing this game in 2024, less than a year after it was initially released. I struggled to matchmake with anybody for multiple heists. I finally settled for one that didn't sound as cool to me and got three other people to play with. I was hoping to do the club heist which had a heavy emphasis on cryptocurrency. I haven't heard a lot of games mention crypto yet, but it's nice to see.

Once I did finally get into a match, it just wasn't very fun to me. It seemed way too chaotic, the gunplay was average, and I just felt like I was going through the motions.
