Demons vs Doomguy
Okay, so I am officially a DOOMsayer. I have a lot to say Doom Eternal after playing it for a few hours. It a bloody good time, LITERALLY! Eternal has gore set on maximum. Demons have overtaken, which means Hell on Earth.
The gameplay is just so smooth thanks to the high refresh rate. I want to try the game on fidelity mode to see just how gorgeous it really is. I will be sure to record it in 4K when I do that, perhaps the next video will be that.
There is a lot to learn in this first-person shooter. Unlike an RPG, it is not over cumbersome. You gradually unlock more and more new ways to demolish these hellions of all shapes and sizes.
I am nowhere near as good at Doom as I am Call of Duty. I can only trust that my skills will continue to better. I remember when I first played Unreal Tournament III, another fast-paced FPS like Doom. After a few months of that, I had reached the Top 100 in the world on Xbox 360. This is my type of shooter. Constant movement, blood, explosions, and a glorious world to dominate.
Watch me play some of the 2nd levels in Doom Eternal's campaign. Remember that I am playing the next-gen version on my PS5. My settings are set to Performance Mode and running at 1584p/120 FPS. The recording is only in 1080p/60 FPS thanks to my PS5's limitations. I will be uploading a video comparing:
- Balanced Mode running at 4K/60 FPS
- Ray Tracing Mode running at 1800p/60 FPS
with
- Performance Mode running at 1584p/120 FPS
