This is how games should be made

I recently finished playing through Resident Evil Village. I wanted to wait a few days to allow @pusen to finish playing before I made this post because he was just a bit behind me in the game when I finished it.
I have to admit, this was one of the first Resident Evil games that I have finished in a very long time. I only put about an hour into Resident Evil Biohazard before I played this one, but I am now going through Biohazard to see the amazingness that I missed.

So the game starts back at your home when Ethan, the main character, is putting his and Mia's baby Rose to bed. After putting Rose to bed, Ethan and Mia are sitting down for dinner when Chris Redfield and his team bust in and start blasting Mia with bullets. Then they take Rose and Ethan.

The transport that Ethan was in was ambushed and you wake up on the side of the road and then find the village, that is the main area of the game. There are monsters and all sorts of weird shit going on in the village.

Without giving away too much, you have to battle a few of Miranda's minions to get pieces of Rose back. Each of these bosses have their own area that you have to explore and eventually fight them. The character design for each of the bosses is pretty cool.

My favorite was probably this crazy doll lady. The whole thing was super creepy. Then there was a point where you were getting chased around by some massive baby monster and it was amazing.

Probably my least favorite area was Heisenberg's factory. The level design here was amazing, but it was like a massive maze spanning a bunch of floors. The map in this area was pretty bad and I spent a lot of time lost. This could possibly be because I was a bit high when I started this area and I found myself just wandering around looking at all the different details.

There were a ton of enemies in here and the close quarters led to some pretty intense situations. Good thing there was an abundance of ammo to be picked up because there were a shit ton of bad guys lurking around every corner.

The boss fight with Heisenberg was super cool. He turned himself into this massive monster and you got to control some weird tank that Chris Redfield made.

It was a pretty easy fight but it was a ton of fun.

Overall, this game is pretty amazing and full of suspense. It is one of the greatest games I have played in a very long time. One thing I really liked about the game is that it was extremely polished. I did not find any bugs or have any issues while I was playing. This seems rare nowadays because so many companies have been pushing out games too early and they are full of bugs. I still haven't returned to Cyperpunk because it is still full of bugs.

The level design in Village is awesome. They did a great job making you feel like you are actually a part of the world that you are exploring and there are so many cool little secrets to find.
Apart from this game having some of the best graphics I have seen in any of the next gen titles, the sound design is perfect as well. I recommend playing this game with a high end gaming headset. When you are trying to sneak around and you can hear all the different sounds of the monsters and environment, it really sucks you into the game.
This game also has some of the best voice acting I have experienced in a video game. A lot of times the voice acting in games seems awkward and can be very unbelievable. Not with this one. The voice acting is one of the main reasons why all of the characters seem so likeable.

One of the cool things about this game is the way that they set up for future releases. Even though Ethan dies in the game, we will be able to continue this story through Rose, who seems to have some powers that we will discover in upcoming games.

Overall, this game is near perfection in a game. When I first was on the fence about buying it, I almost didn't because it only has around 10-15 hours of game time until you beat it, but once you complete it, you unlock a bunch of things and you unlock a new difficulty so there is some replay value to it.
I don't mind the game being "short" because every minute of my game time was a ton of fun. It wasn't like on some games with 50+ hours where you are doing dumb shit just to get the game time up. Every second of this game was filled with suspense.
Village is one of the greatest games I have ever played and I am looking forward to finishing up Biohazard now and looking forward to the future games. I just wish that more companies took the time to perfect their games before launch because Capcom did this game correctly.
