Supersonic Warriors 2 es uno de los mejores juegos de Dragon Ball
Hola que tal usuarios de la comunidad de Hive es un placer saludarles en un nuevo analisis que llega despues de mucho pensarlo y meditarlo, mi cuenta ha estado paralizada estos ultimos meses debido a un incidente pero ya empiezo a tener nuevamente el control de mi cuenta, por lo que quize celebrarlo jugando a ese juego que estoy por analizarles. Espero lo disfruten y me comenten en el post, yo estare pendiente de responderles a cada uno de ustedes!
Desde hace un tiempo he estado volviendo a jugar con mis viejas consolas y hace unos dias me que empece a jugar con una de mis favoritas: La Nintendo DS, una de mis primeras consolas y quiza mi puerta de entrada hacia titulos como Mario Bros, The Legend Of Zelda y Pokemon. Solo que en esta oportunidad jugaria otro de mis juegos favoritos y al que considero mi entrada a los juegos de lucha: Dragon Ball: Supersonic Warriors 2.
Empezando a investigar el juego y su historia noto algo que me llamo mucho la taencion, este es el primer juego de Dragon Ball fuera de los Arcades en recibir una secuela, y es que el primer (Supersonic Warriors) juego lanzado en la Game Boy fue tanto un exito de ventas como bien acogido por la critica. Tenia una mezcla de mecanicas que hacian muy atractivas las peleas y un diseño de personajes y escenarios simple pero al mismo tiempo llamativo para el jugador, por lo que aca los desarrolladores tomaron la opcion de aumentar los esfuerzos y sacar una entrega mas pulida en muchos aspectos.
Jugabilidad
En su planteamiento original la secuela no cambia demasiado la formula de las peleas si no que pule el sistema que ya tenia su primera entrega hasta conseguir un ritmo mucho mas agil tanto en los personajes como en el control, estando en el modo de lucha podemos movernos libremente por el escenario de dos dimensiones, las peleas se basan en un 3v3 en el que podremos pelear con hasta 3 personajes en el campo de batalla, teniendo algunos de soporte y otros con los que podremos hacer ataques combinados.
tendremos a nuestra disposicion comandos tanto para acercarnos rapidamente como para ejecutar ataques a la distancia que se veran directamente influenciados por la cantidad de Ki que hayamos recolectado antes. Y hasta podremos ejecutar ataques definitivos si tenemos nuestra barra de energia llena y estamos a punto de ser derrotados.
El combate en general a pesar de ser en algunos momento lento mejora mucho la formula y hace mucho mas agil la ejecucion decombos a nuestros contrincantes asi como encadenarlos con nuestros 4 ataques especiales (uno en cada direccion), ademas la adicion de una serie de personajes de soporte hacen mucho mas dinamicos los combates, en resumen: la jugabilidad es un espectaculo que hay que saber manejar para que deslumbre pero es muy entretenido de eso no tengas dudas.
Un punto clave: La historia
La historia de Dragon Ball es ciclica y puede aburrir con el paso de cada juego que la explora sin aportar nada, pero Supersonic Warriors 2 hace algo realmente interesante porque no solo cuenta toda la historia desde la llegada de los Saiyan a la tierra hasta el terror de Buu si no que tambien nos permite explorar por medio de arcos de personaje historias alternativas al puro estilo de What If en cada una de las historias o arcos que jugaremos con cada personaje jugable del juego.
De este modo podremos ver una perspectiva unica de eventos como "Que hubiese pasado si Cell hubiese ganado a los guerreros Z" o situaciones como Gotenks viajando al pasado. Aunque no dejan de ser fanfics canonizados en un videojuego me parece muy refrescante explorar otra ruta alternativa para los eventos de la serie original.
Otra mecanica muy interesante como dije antes es la de poder jugar con cada personaje y tener un arco personal para cada uno de ellos, por lo que si queremos jugar con Piccolo tendriamos tanto la historia original disponible como una serie de historias alternativas si logramos algunos objetivos en las batallas principales.
Otro punto acertado en la produccion del juego es la inclusion de un modo multijugador que si bien necesitaremos de otro cartucho para jugar propiamente da un salto con respecto a la anterior entrega pudiendo batirnos en combate con algun amigo en el modo batalla.
Los graficos se caracterizan por ser puntuales sin mucho detalle, bastan unos pixeles para reconocer a estos personajes tan iconicos pero tambien utiliza el motor de la DS para disponer de peleas fluidas y visualmente excelentes dadas las limitaciones de la consola. Cumple en el apartado visual tambien por como se ve cada uno de los combos que los personajes ejecutan, se aprecia que algunos sean tan detallados y se nota el cariño puesto por el equipo de produccion.
Tambien hay un cierto factor de estrategia ya que tanto en el modo batalla como en el modo arcade dispondremos de un total de 7 puntos para elegir entre personajes que varian dependiendo del poder que tengan, asi que podremos encontrarnos con un equipo no tan superior o podemos disponer de alguien poderoso a cambio de dejar los otros dos slots con personajes de soporte.
Conclusion
No me quedan dudas que Supersonic Warriors 2 es tanto un videojuego solido como una entrega digna de una franquicia tan amada como Dragon Ball, tiene unas mecanicas de combate que son divertidas al mismo tiempo que desafiantes y los controles se manejan genial. se echan de menos mas personajes y quiza la parrilla de personajes no sea la mejor pero cumple ofreciendonos batallas agiles y un modo historia diverso e interesante.

Supersonic Warriors 2 is one of the best Dragon Ball games

For a while now I've been playing again with my old consoles and a few days ago I started playing with one of my favorites: The Nintendo DS, one of my first consoles and maybe my gateway to titles like Mario Bros, The Legend Of Zelda and Pokemon. Only this time I would play another one of my favorite games and what I consider my gateway to fighting games: Dragon Ball: Supersonic Warriors 2.
Starting to investigate the game and its story I noticed something that caught my attention, this is the first Dragon Ball game outside the Arcades to receive a sequel, and that is that the first (Supersonic Warriors) game released on the Game Boy was both a sales success and well received by critics. It had a mix of mechanics that made the fights very attractive and a design of characters and scenarios simple but at the same time appealing to the player, so here the developers took the option to increase the efforts and take a more polished delivery in many aspects.
Gameplay
In its original approach the sequel does not change too much the formula of the fights if not polish the system that already had its first installment to get a much more agile pace in both the characters and control, being in the fight mode we can move freely through the two-dimensional scenario, the fights are based on a 3v3 in which we can fight with up to 3 characters on the battlefield, having some support and others with which we can make combo attacks.
We will have at our disposal commands both to approach quickly and to execute attacks at a distance that will be directly influenced by the amount of Ki that we have collected before. And we will even be able to execute definitive attacks if we have our energy bar full and we are about to be defeated.
Combat in general despite being slow at some point greatly improves the formula and makes much more agile execution decombos our opponents as well as chain them with our 4 special attacks (one in each direction), plus the addition of a number of support characters make much more dynamic fights, in short: the gameplay is a show that you have to know how to handle to dazzle but it is very entertaining that you have no doubt.
A key point: The story
The story of Dragon Ball is cyclical and can get boring with the passage of each game that explores it without contributing anything, but Supersonic Warriors 2 does something really interesting because it not only tells the whole story from the arrival of the Saiyan to Earth to the terror of Buu if not also allows us to explore through character arcs alternative stories in the style of What If in each of the stories or arcs that we will play with each playable character in the game.
In this way we can see a unique perspective of events such as "What if Cell had beaten the Z Warriors " or situations like Gotenks traveling to the past. Although they are still fanfics canonized in a video game I find it very refreshing to explore another alternative route for the events of the original series.
Another very interesting mechanic as I said before is to be able to play with each character and have a personal arc for each of them, so if we want to play with Piccolo we would have both the original story available and a series of alternative stories if we achieve some objectives in the main battles.
Another successful point in the production of the game is the inclusion of a multiplayer mode that although we will need another cartridge to play properly gives a leap with respect to the previous delivery being able to beat us in combat with a friend in battle mode.
The graphics are characterized by being punctual without much detail, a few pixels are enough to recognize these iconic characters but also uses the DS engine to have fluid and visually excellent fights given the limitations of the console. It complies in the visual section also by how you see each of the combos that the characters perform, it is appreciated that some are so detailed and you can see the love put by the production team.
There is also a certain strategy factor as both in battle mode and arcade mode will have a total of 7 points to choose between characters that vary depending on the power they have, so we can find ourselves with a team not so superior or we can have someone powerful in exchange for leaving the other two slots with support characters.
Conclusion
I have no doubt that Supersonic Warriors 2 is both a solid video game and a worthy installment of a franchise as beloved as Dragon Ball, has a combat mechanics that are fun while challenging and the controls are handled great. I miss more characters and perhaps the grid of characters is not the best but fulfills offering agile battles and a diverse and interesting story mode.
