Hello everyone, there's a new farmer in town! As you know, I'm a big fan of games on the Hive blockchain. Since the development of @crownrend has unfortunately been discontinued, I was looking for a new game. One game that has been around for a long time and works well is @dCrops. For these reasons, and because the game doesn't take up too much time, I took the courageous step of starting to play dCrops.
In today's blog, I would like to introduce you to dCrops and show you how I got started. I want to share my experiences with you in case you are also considering getting started. Enjoy reading! 😊
What is dCrops?
dCrops is an idle farming game where you cultivate your land (NFTs) with seeds (NFTs). Basically, you plant your seeds and then receive the harvest. You can then either sell the harvest or combine several ingredients to create a delicious dish, so there is also a kind of crafting or cooking system. As in the real world, there is a cycle of four seasons, which represent the seasons in game. A season lasts 15 days, and different seeds can be planted depending on the season. The token for dCrops is CROP.
The game has been around for several years and has a small but very active and loyal community. Even though updates and new content are not released frequently, dCrops has been functioning very well since its inception and has healthy tokenomics.
How can you earn with dCrops?
Like most games on the Hive blockchain, dCrops is a play-to-earn game. There are various ways and means of earning money by playing dCrops.
The classic way is to sell your harvest. Depending on the quality and rarity of the harvest, you receive shares. The more shares you have at the end of a season and sell, the more CROP you can earn. As already mentioned, there is a cooking system, and logically, you receive even more shares for the cooked dishes and thus more CROP tokens.
Another way is to hold CROP Power. This consists of several factors: CROP token balance, own alpha/beta packs, own NFTs, and 3-star quality products. The more CROP Power you have, the more Hive you receive from a pool, which is paid out daily.
Finally, there are two other, less significant options. One is the Reward Wheel, which can be spun once a day (with a CROP Power of 25k or higher), and the other is the Quest System (with a CROP Power of 20k or higher), which rewards you with prizes when you complete all quests.
How did I get started?
I took a very conservative approach to dCrops, and I would recommend you do the same. That way, you can test whether the game is right for you. And if it isn't, you can quickly sell the items you've purchased and hardly lose anything. I'm also focusing on the farming aspect for now and leaving crafting and cooking aside.
First of all, you need a land NFT. Looking at the marketplace, I realized that “Fertile Land” (rare) is probably the most worthwhile for getting started. This gives you two spots to plant seeds.
As for the seeds, I decided to buy a few seeds for each season so that I can use my land as efficiently as possible. For example, if I had only bought seeds for the summer, my land would have been unused for the rest of the other seasons.
That was it, because then I could start playing and planting seeds. So you see, it's very easy and you don't need much to get started. Here's a screenshot showing the items I own. In total, it cost me an estimated 30 Hive, but I can't say for sure.
What else can I recommend?
If you want to get started, I definitely recommend reaching 25k CROP Power. As already described, this gives you several advantages. You get a larger share of the daily Hive distributions, you can spin the daily Reward Wheel, and you unlock the Quest System, but we'll talk about that in a moment.
The easiest way to get CROP Power is to hold the CROP token, because one token equals one CROP Power. I have about 25k CROP Power, and as you can see, it's not particularly expensive.
What don't I like so much?
Of course, the game isn't perfect, and there are some things I don't like so much. That's completely normal, of course, but I'd still like to address these issues.
First, I would like to mention the quest system, which unfortunately is not designed for beginners. To get the chests, you have to complete all of these quests, and the problem is that you also need a lot of items to do so. If you fail to complete just one quest within the season, you won't get any chests at all.
And the second thing is the starter packs. It's a good idea, as it creates a compact package for beginners, but at $5 per starter pack, they're too expensive. You can get more items for less money on the marketplace if you buy them individually. You also need the seeds from the starter pack to complete the quests, as these seeds are not available for purchase on the marketplace.
Last Words
Despite the criticism mentioned above, I think very highly of dCrops so far. The fact that the game has been running for so long gives me confidence. And what I personally like very much is that it doesn't take up much time. It's also nice that there are many different ways to play dCrops, whether it's farming, crafting, or cooking. Da die Entwicklung von @crownrend leider eingestellt wurde war ich auf der Suche nach einem neuen Spiel. Ein Spiel, was schon sehr lange existiert und auch funktioniert, ist @dCrops. Aus diesen Gründen und, weil das Spiel nicht besonders viel Zeit in Anspruch nimmt, habe ich es gewagt und dCrops zu spielen begonnen.
Im heutigen Blog möchte ich euch dCrops vorstellen und zeigen, wie ich gestartet bin. Dabei will ich euch meine Erfahrungen, die ich gemacht habe, teilen, falls ihr vielleicht auch überlegt damit zu starten. Viel Spaß beim Lesen! 😊
Was ist dCrops?
dCrops ist ein Idle-Farmspiel, bei dem man mit Samen (NFTs) sein Land (NFTs) bewirtschaftet. Grundsätzlich pflanzt man seine Samen und erhält anschlie0end die Ernte. Die Ernte kann man dann entweder verkaufen oder mehrere Zutaten zu einem tollen Gericht kombinieren, es gibt also auch eine Art Crafting bzw. Cooking System. Wie in der echten Welt existiert der Zyklus der vier Jahreszeiten, welche die Seasons darstellen. Eine Jahreszeit bzw. Season dauert 15 Tage und je nach Jahreszeit können verschiedene Samen angepflanzt werden. Der Token von dCrops ist CROP.
Das Spiel existiert schon seit mehreren Jahren und hat eine kleine, aber sehr aktive und treue Community. Auch wenn nicht häufig Updates oder neue Inhalte ins Spiel kommen, funktioniert dCrops schon seit Beginn sehr gut und hat eine gesunde Tokenomics.
Wie kann man bei dCrops verdienen?
Wie die meisten Spiele auf der Hive Blockchain ist dCrops ein play-to-earn Spiel. Es gibt verschiedene Wege und Arten, wie man durch das Spielen von dCrops sich etwas verdienen kann.
Der klassische Weg ist, seine Ernte zu verkaufen. Hierfür erhält man, je nach Qualität und Seltenheit der Ernte, Shares. Je mehr Shares man am Ende einer Season besitzt und auch verkauft, desto mehr CROP können verdient werden. Wie bereits erwähnt gibt es ein Cooking System und logischerweise erhält man für die gekochten Gericht noch mehr Shares und dadurch mehr CROP Token.
Ein anderer Weg ist das Halten von CROP Power. Diese setzt sich aus mehreren Faktoren zusammen: Bilanz der CROP Token, eigene Alpha/Beta Packs, eigene NFTs und Produkte einer 3-Sterne-Qualität. Je mehr CROP Power man besitzt, erhält man Hive aus einem Pool, welche täglich ausgezahlt werden.
Und zuletzt gibt es noch zwei eher unbedeutendere Möglichkeiten. Das ist einmal das Reward Wheel, welches einmal pro Tag gedreht werden kann (ab einer CROP Power von 25k) und das Quest System (ab einer CROP Power von 20k), wodurch man Belohnungen beim Abschließen aller Quests erhält.
Wie habe ich begonnen?
Ich bin sehr konservativ an dCrops herangegangen und das würde ich euch auch empfehlen. So kann man erstmal testen, ob einem das Spiel überhaupt taugt. Und wenn das nicht der Fall ist, hat man seine gekauften Items schnell wieder verkauft und kaum einen Verlust. Außerdem konzentrier ich mich erstmal auf den Farming Aspekt und lasse das Crafting und Cooking noch außen vor.
Zunächst einmal benötigt man ein Land-NFT. Beim Blick auf den Marktplatz habe ich festgestellt, dass das "Fertile Land" (selten) sich wohl am meisten für den Start lohnt. Dadurch hat man zwei Spots, um Samen anzupflanzen.
Bei den Samen habe ich mich dazu entschieden erst einmal ein paar Saamen für jede Season zu kaufen, sodass ich mein Land möglichst effizient nutzen kann. Hätte ich zum Beispiel nur Samen für den Sommer gekauft, wäre mein Land die restlichen Jahreszeit ungenutzt gewesen.
Das war es soweit auch schon, denn dann konnte ich mit dem Spielen und dem Pflanzen von Samen beginnen. Ihr seht also es ist sehr einfach und man benötigt für den Start nicht viel. Hier habe ich euch einmal einen Screen, der meine Items, welche ich besitze, zeigt. Insgesamt hat mich das schätzungsweise 30 Hive gekostet, aber ich kann es nicht ganz genau sagen.
Was kann ich noch empfehlen?
Falls ihr starten wollt kann ich auf jeden Fall empfehlen, dass ihr auf die 25k CROP Power kommt. So habt ihr, wie bereits beschrieben, einige Vorteile. Ihr bekommt größere Anteile an den täglichen Hive Ausschüttungen, ihr könnte das tägliche Reward Wheel drehen und ihr schaltet das Quest System frei, aber da kommen wir gleich noch drauf zu sprechen.
Am einfachsten erhaltet ihr CROP Power, indem ihr den CROP Token haltet, denn ein Token entspricht ein CROP Power. Ich habe ungefähr 25k CROP Power und auch das ist nicht besonders teuer, wie ihr seht.
Was gefällt mir nicht so gut?
Natürlich ist das Spiel nicht perfekt und es gibt auch Dinge, die ich nicht so gut finde. Das ist natürlich völlig normal, trotzdem möchte ich diese Dinge gerne ansprechen.
Zuerst möchte ich hier das Quest System ansprechen, was leider nicht für Anfänger gedacht ist. Um die Chests zu erhalten, muss man alle dieser Quests abschließen und das Problem ist, dass man hierfür auch viele Items braucht. Wenn man nur eine Quest innerhalb der Season nicht erfüllt, erhält man auch keinerlei Chests.
Und das zweite sind die Starter Packs. Das ist zwar eine gute Idee, da man so ein kompaktes Gesamt-Paket für Anfänger geschaffen hat, allerdings sind die 5$ pro Starter Pack zu teuer. Auf dem Marktplatz bekommt man für weniger Geld mehr Items, wenn man diese einzeln kauft. Außerdem braucht man die Samen aus dem Starter Pack, um die Quests erfüllen zu können, da diese Samen auf dem Marktplatz nicht verkäuflich sind.
Letzt Worte
Trotz der eben genannten Kritik, halte ich von cCrops bisher sehr viel. Allein der Fakt, dass das Spiel schon so lange funktioniert gibt mir Sicherheit. Und was ich persönlich noch sehr gut finde ist, dass es nicht viel Zeit in Anspruch nimmt. Und schön ist außerdem, dass es viele verschiedene Möglichkeiten gibt dCrops zu spielen, sei es das Farming, Crafting oder Cooking. Übrigens gibt es auch immer mal wieder besondere Events, hier sollte man also die Augen offen behalten. Falls ihr mehr zu dCrops wissen wollt könnt ihr das unter anderem im dCrops Wiki tun.
