A harsh reality

Outlast for me was one of the best horror games ever, it was designed in such a way that makes us live a unique horror experience. The story that happened when I entered the asylum is one of the best I've seen, a game that proved to be easily in the top despite everything. I am a lover of horror games, I would also say that I am a bit demanding, I like them to be scary, or at least, make me shiver a little, and yes, Outlast was one of them, and as soon as I heard about its second version, I did the impossible to get it, (I avoided watching gameplays to avoid damaging the experience, let's remember that these games are 100% linear).

The mechanics of the game is very similar to its first installment, instead of throwing us into a world full of dangers and having weapons with which to defend ourselves, here is totally the opposite, basically, our mission is to escape and escape without stopping, we have no chance to defend ourselves in any case, I'm serious, the goal is to run away and avoid at all costs the danger, also, concerning its first installment, here we have a much more open world, that means that the exploration was enlarged too, but still, the game remains linear. A complete blast.😵

The story is terrifying, in a nutshell, we will be some reporters who came to document some "abandoned" structures but we meet people, flesh and blood, and sick by their god, called "Satan". Yes, here we will not see ghosts or anything like that, we are shown the worst part of the human race, it is simply heartbreaking. They will all want to kill us, so our only option is to escape from there. Once again, I was impressed with the game mechanics, they are simply spectacular, they still have a touch of the first installment, but they are different.

First of all, as in the first game, we will spend the whole story in the dark, second, our eyes will be the camera, with it, we will be able to see all the places and help us to advance in the game, how? Well, by recording everything around us, soon we can reach a kind of base, where we are "protected" and review the recordings, thanks to everything we record we will be joining clues and solving the puzzles of the game, because yes, Outlast 2 has some pretty challenging puzzles, terrifying and fun. (yes, it's a strange mix) Who played Outlast? Who remembers the torture we had when we couldn't find batteries? Well here we have more of the same, many times I suffered to get some simple batteries, I guess the difficulty also made me suffer a little, but it's a matter of getting used to it.

Outlast 2 is terror at its best, what for me made it better is the new location, before it was a psychiatric hospital, now we are in a small town with destroyed houses, lots of grass, trees, in short, we are outside, but the pile of houses and vegetation turn the "open world" into a labyrinth. Mmmm, a month ago a friend asked me how was my experience with Outlast 2, I answered him just try it, hahaha. Yes, the game is scary, but not that kind of scary that we get used to in horror movies or something like that, but the fear of feeling chased all the time, avoid being seen, don't make noise, and sure, we have quite a few screamer styles scares, but believe me it's nothing compared to the psychological terror of being there.

The gameplay is beastly, an impeccable horror game. I have played very few really good stealth games, Outlast 2 is one of them, the stealth plays a mega important role in Outlast, it is very similar to the previous installment, but I think here it is about 5 times more important, believe me, you will not like to run into some damn unhinged of those. The controls are simple, very intuitive really. Also, having such a well-designed story helps us feel the terror much more pronounced. I dare to say that Outlast 2 is a superb survival, of course, not just any survival, it is fully focused on survival horror, to people pretty bad in the head who will want to kill you, if you are a survival player in Minecraft please stay away from this post quickly. (I lie, I'm a rat-boy too xD).

If I tell you more things about Outlast 2 I think you don't need to play it (kidding), the graphic aspect I think you could tell with the pictures you've seen, I don't know why, but ALL horror games have NASA graphics xD, Outlast 2 is beautiful, too bad I could never notice how it looked during the day, but still, with everything dark, the game looks spectacular, the brightness, reflections with the flashlight, the characters, cinematics, EVERYTHING. It looks like a blockbuster horror movie. The same goes for the sound, which is fundamental for any sigil game, the noises are clear and you must pay a lot of attention to them, they could easily save your skin.

Conclusion

If I had to say something bad about Outlast 2, I would really struggle quite a bit. Maybe I could notice (a few times) the game's poor performance, both in its AI how in the environment, bugs, and that sort of thing. But I think it doesn't detract from how great it is. Outlast 2 is another worldwide success just like its big brother, its brutal setting, the addictive story that makes you want to know more and more, graphically, its gameplay, and many more things. Also, I loved that Outlast 2 was not the kind of game that makes you waste your time, that terror is simply to throw 3 screamers and that's it, no, Outlast 2 knew how to create terror without the need to repeat the same thing every time, as I said, just the fact of feeling persecuted, made your nerves explode 100%. You must play Outlast 2, yes or yes.

Una cruda realidad

Outlast para mí fue uno de los mejores juegos de terror que ha existido, fue diseñado de tal forma que nos hace vivir una experiencia de terror única. La historia que ocurrió al momento de ingresar al manicomio es una de las mejores que he visto, un juego que a pesar de todo, demostró estar fácilmente en el top. Soy amante de los juegos de terror, también diría que soy un poco exigente, me gusta que den miedo, o aunque sea, me hagan temblar un poco, y sí, Outlast fue uno de ellos, y apenas me enteré de su segunda versión, hice lo imposible por conseguirla, (evité ver gameplays para no dañar la experiencia, recordemos que estos juegos son 100% lineales).

La mecánica del juego es muy parecida a su primera entrega, en vez de lanzarnos a un mundo repleto de peligros y teniendo armas con las cuales defendernos, aquí es totalmente lo contrario, básicamente nuestra misión es escapar y escapar sin parar, no tenemos posibilidad alguna de defendernos en cualquier caso, hablo en serio, el objetivo es salir corriendo y evitar a toda costa el peligro, también, con respecto a su primera entrega, aquí tenemos un mundo muchísimo más abierto, eso implica que la exploración se agrandó demasiado, pero aun así el juego sigue siendo lineal. Una completa pasada.😵

La historia es terrorífica, en pocas palabras, seremos unos reporteros que vinieron a documentar unas estructuras "abandonadas" pero nos encontramos con personas, de carne y hueso, y enferma por su dios, llamado "Satanás". Sí, aquí no veremos fantasmas ni nada de eso, nos enseñan la peor parte de la raza humana, es simplemente desgarrador. Todos ellos nos querrán matar, así que nuestra única opción es escapar de allí. Una vez más, quedé impresionado con las mecánicas de juego, son simplemente espectaculares, siguen teniendo un toque de la primera entrega, pero son diferentes.

Primero que nada, cómo en su primer juego, toda la historia la pasaremos a oscuras, segundo, nuestros ojos serán la cámara, con ella vamos a poder ver todos los sitios y ayudarnos a avanzar en el juego, ¿Cómo? Pues, al ir grabando todo nuestro alrededor, pronto podremos llegar a una especie de base, en dónde estamos "protegidos" y revisar las grabaciones, gracias a todo lo que grabemos vamos a ir uniendo pistas y resolviendo los puzzles del juego, porque sí, Outlast 2 tiene unos puzzles bastante desafiantes, terroríficos y divertidos. (sí, es una mezcla extraña). ¿Quién jugó Outlast? ¿Quién recuerda la tortura que pasábamos al no encontrar baterías? Pues aquí tenemos más de lo mismo, muchas veces sufrí para conseguir unas simples baterías, supongo que la dificultad también me hizo sufrir un poco, pero es cuestión de acostumbrarse.

Outlast 2 es terror en su máxima expresión, lo que para mí hicieron mejor es la nueva ubicación, antes era un psiquiátrico, ahora estamos en un pequeño pueblito con casas destruidas, mucha hierba, árboles, en fin, estamos al exterior, pero el montón de casas y vegetación vuelven el "mundo abierto" en un laberinto. Mmmm, hace un mes un amigo me preguntó que tal había sido mi experiencia con Outlast 2, le respondí solo pruébalo, hahaha. Sí, el juego da miedo, pero no ese tipo de miedo que nos acostumbramos a las películas de terror o algo así, sino el miedo de sentirte perseguido todo el tiempo, evitar que te vean, no hacer ruido, y claro, tenemos bastantes sustos del estilo screamers, pero créanme que no es nada a comparación del terror psicológico de estar allí.

La jugabilidad es bestial, un juego de terror impecable. He jugado muy pocos juegos de sigilo que realmente sean buenos, Outlast 2 es uno de ellos, el sigilo juega un papel mega importante en Outlast, es muy parecido a la entrega anterior, pero creo que aquí es unas 5 veces más importante, creeme, no te gustará toparte con algún maldito desquiciado de esos. Los controles son sencillos, muy intuitivos realmente. También, el hecho de tener una historia tan bien diseñada nos ayuda a sentir el terror mucho más pronunciado. Me atrevo a decir que Outlast 2 es un survival magnífico, claro, no un survival cualquiera, está plenamente enfocada en la supervivencia al terror, a gente bastante mal de la cabeza que querrá matarte, si eres jugador de survival en Minecraft por favor, aléjate rápidamente de este post. (Miento, yo también soy niño rata xD).

Si te digo más cosas sobre Outlast 2 creo que no hace falta que lo juegues (bromeo), el aspecto gráfico creo que pudiste darte cuenta con las fotos que has visto, no sé por qué, pero TODOS los juegos de terror tienen gráficos de la nasa xD, Outlast 2 es precioso, lástima que nunca pude notar cómo se veía de día, pero aun así, con todo oscuro, el juego luce espectacular, el brillo, reflejos con la linterna, los personajes, cinemáticas, TODO. Parece una película taquillera de terror. Lo mismo ocurre con el sonido, el cual es fundamental para cualquier juego de sigilo, los ruidos son claros y debes prestarle muchísima atención, fácilmente podrían salvarte el pellejo.

Conclusión

Si tuviera que decir algo malo sobre Outlast 2, realmente me costaría bastante. Tal vez pude notar (algunas veces) un mal funcionamiento del juego, tanto en su IA cómo en el entorno, bugs y ese tipo de cosas. Pero creo que no le quita mérito a lo grandioso que es. Outlast 2 es otro éxito mundial al igual que su hermano mayor, su brutal ambientación, la adictiva historia que te hace querer saber más y más, gráficamente, su estilo de juego, y muchas cosas más. Además, me encantó que Outlast 2 no haya sido ese tipo de juegos que te hacen perder el tiempo, que el terror sencillamente es tirar 3 screamers y listo, no, Outlast 2 supo cómo crear terror sin necesidad de repetir lo mismo siempre, cómo ya les comenté, tan solo el hecho de sentirnos perseguidos, hacía que tus nervios explotaran al 100%. Debes jugar Outlast 2, sí o sí.
