Roguelike and lots of action
Exactly 1 week ago I downloaded Skul: The Hero Slayer, I hadn't brought it to the platform because I hadn't tried it yet, I only played it for about 30 minutes to verify that everything was ok, but okay. This is a roguelike and platform game, it's basically about exploring biomes full of many bad things XD. It caught my attention because I didn't have any game of this style in my library, and having one would be good for me. Skul seemed very interesting to me for several things, one of them was its cute story that I read in the hypnosis, which I won't mention because I would hate to spoil that. I hope you guys go and discover it by yourselves.
In the beginning, we have a nice cinematic and a little bit about who we are and our mission. I watched it and liked it quite a bit, mostly because of how pretty its visuals and graphics were in general, of course, they were only like that in the cinematic, since Skul is a pixelated game, very pretty by the way. After that, I thought that our mission would be guided by something or someone, but no, we go by stage checking areas, for example, the 1-1 is a forest, I'm investigating by myself and we also meet from time to time with people we must save. Something I liked as soon as I started playing, is the difficulty, damn it's hard.
I quite like that Skul's gameplay is like any other roguelike, and the essence of this genre is there. I love knowing that jumping and dodging are the main things we have to do, especially if we want to save our lives. I admit that I had some time without playing a roguelike and I've died a few times, but as far as I see we have no limit, what I do know is that we lose everything we explored and we start again. The controls are very simple, jump, run, attack, and we also have magic skills, but I think they are not yet active, or at least I do not have to buy the necessary XD.
Something I like is that if you still don't finish killing all the enemies sadly you won't be able to access the places of interest, this is made to avoid just running and jumping around. I was helping to free a guy, specifically a trader, and he traded me 100 gold and changed my random skill, which by the way gave me a fucking shitty skill, I'm seeing if I keep that one or change it back, I have about 1200 gold so maybe I can do it, although I guess I should also save, it's important after passing levels to have enough gold saved up, going to the next stages without any new equipment or skill upgrades is suicide.
I died in the deep forest, which is right next to this fire door XD. I'm surprised that it's already closed, that is, the door is destroyed, I don't understand if I did it right, or if dying takes away access to all that. It's quite difficult, that's why I died.
The combat system in Skul is beautiful, we can do a huge combo to a group of soldiers/enemies, and that's more than fine, having area damage is too important in these shitty games. The more time I spend in the game, the better I get, it's pleasant to see how you finish with a group of 20 soldiers doing combos, the best thing is that you feel like the best player in the world, but you're just a newbie xD. Another important point to mention is the music, the soundtrack of this game is very relaxing and just repeats over and over again the same melody, I guess soon, after we unlock more biomes, it will be different there too.
Dying is not so bad, it's like in another roguelike, we will always improve our skills and we can go as far as we can, that's what it's all about, so yes or yes we must die sometime to be able to improve our skills, and it is very noticeable how much I have improved, I have not dropped almost anything of life thanks to the fact that I already know how to move around and I can defend myself much better than before, however, I still need to polish some things to be better. Here I already have items equipped and I have good options against other enemies.
I think my magic attack is to throw the head, I can throw it and teleport to it, and now that I'm a little better, I noticed that it takes quite a bit of damage off any enemy that throws it before I thought it was just for teleporting but it's not, and boy is it useful. I got to a point of stores, and finally, I was able to equip myself a bit and got an item that turned me into a fat glutton (it reminded me of the real flaws, he is a fat guy who suffers from obesity grade 8). Anyway, I've been equipping myself and now I finally think I'm up against a great warrior, I think I'll advance quite a bit. Well, I think I'm exaggerating, he's just a fucking rookie hero, I hope I can beat him.
Well, I died, this fat guy was really bad, but I never use him again. Well, I entered the forest again, and incredibly now it had become a room of chests, it reminded me a lot of the lucky blocks of Minecraft. I was opening several and some made me lose lives, until I opened another randomly and found the key to the giant chest, there I found an amazing item, it gives me 50% speed when moving and other things, then I left there and now I was going to try my new item... I wish we had lived, and that recharging life was much easier...
Now I'm a killing machine, the speed and damage I take off are not normal, besides that now I have a lot of critical chance.

Roguelike y mucha acción
Hace 1 semana exactamente descargué Skul: The Hero Slayer, no lo había traído a la plataforma porque aún no lo había probado, solo lo jugué unos 30 minutos para verificar que todo estuviese bien, pero okay. Este es un juego roguelike y de plataformas, se trata básicamente de ir explorando biomas repletos de muchas malas cosas XD. Me llamó la atención porque no tenía ningún juego de este estilo en mi biblioteca, y tener alguno me vendría bien. Skul me pareció muy interesante por varias cosas, una de ellas era su linda historia que leí en la sipnosis, la cuál no mencionaré porque odiaría hacer spoiler de eso. Espero que ustedes vayan y la descubran por si mismo.
Al comienzo tenemos una bonita cinemática y un poco de lo que somos y nuestra misión. Yo la vi y me gustó bastante, sobretodo por lo bonita que eran sus imágenes y gráficos en general, claro, solo eran así en la cinemática, ya que Skul realmente es un juego pixelado, muy bonito por cierto. Luego de ahí pensé que nuestra misión sería guiada por algo o alguien, pero no, vamos por stage revisando zonas, por ejemplo la 1-1 es un bosque, estoy investigando por mi mismo y también nos encontramos de vez en cuándo con personas que debemos salvar. Algo que me gustó apenas empecé a jugar, es la dificultad, joder, vaya que es difícil.
Me gusta bastante que la jugabilidad de Skul es como la de cualquier otro roguelike, y es que la esencia de este género esta allí. Me encanta saber que saltar y esquivar son de las principales cosas que debemos hacer, sobretodo si queremos guardar nuestra vida. Admito que llevaba algo de tiempo sin jugar un roguelike y he muerto algunas veces, pero por lo que veo no tenemos límite, lo que si es que perdemos todo lo explorado y volvemos a empezar. Los controles son muy sencillos, saltar, correr, atacar, y también tenemos habilidades mágicas, pero creo que aún no están activas, o al menos no tengo para comprar lo necesario XD.
Algo que me gusta es que si aún no terminas de matar a todos los enemigos tristemente no podrás acceder a los sitios de interés, esto esta hecho para evitar solo salir corriendo y saltando por allí. Estuve ayudando a liberar a un tipo, específicamente un trader, el me cambió 100 de oro y me cambió mi habilidad al azar, que por cierto me dió una puta mierda de habilidad, estoy viendo si me quedo con esa o la cambio de nuevo, tengo unos 1200 de oro así que tal vez pueda hacerlo, aunque supongo que también debo ahorrar, es importante luego de pasar niveles tener bastante oro ahorrado, ir a los siguientes stages sin nada de equipo nuevo ni mejoras de habilidad es literalmente suicidarnos.
Morí en el bosque profundo, que es justo el que esta al lado de esta puerta de fuego XD. Me sorprende que ya esta cerrado, o sea, la puerta esta destruida, no entiendo muy bien si lo hice bien, o morir te quita el acceso a todo eso. Esta bastante difícil es por eso que morí.
El sistema de combate en Skul es precioso, literal podemos hacerle un combo inmenso a un grupo de soldados/enemigos, eso está más que bien, tener daño en área es demasiado importante en estos juegos de mierda. Mientras más tiempo paso en el juego, mejor me vuelvo, es placentero ver cómo acabas con un grupo de 20 soldados haciendo combos, lo mejor es que te sientes el mejor jugador del mundo, pero solo eres un novato xD. Otro punto importante que mencionar es la música, la banda sonora de este juego es muy relajante y literalmente solo se repite una y otra vez la misma melodía, supongo que pronto, luego que desbloqueemos más biomas, también será diferente allí.
Morir no es tan malo, es como en otros roguelike, siempre mejoraremos nuestras habilidades y podremos llegar tan lejos podamos, de eso se trata, así que sí o sí debemos morir en alguna ocasión para poder mejorar nuestras habilidades, y se nota mucho lo que he mejorado, no he bajado casi nada de vida gracias a que ya sé moverme por allí y puedo defenderme mucho mejor que antes, sin embargo aún me falta pulir algunas cosas para ser mejor. Aquí ya tengo objetos equipados y tengo buenas opciones contra otros enemigos.
Creo que mi ataque mágico es lanzar la cabeza, puedo lanzarla y teletransportarme a ella, y ahora que soy un poco mejor, noté que quita bastante daño a cualquier enemigo que la lance, antes pensé que solo era para teletransporte pero no es así, y vaya que es muy útil. Llegué a un punto de tiendas, por fin, pude equiparme un poco y conseguí un objeto que me convertía en un gordo glotón (me recordó a therealflaws, el es un gordo que sufre de obesidad grado 8). En fin, estuve equipándome y ahora por fin creo que estoy contra un gran guerrero, creo que avanzaré bastante. Bueno, creo que exagero, apenas es un puto héroe novato, espero ganarle.
Bueno, morí, este gordo era muy malo, mas nunca lo vuelvo a usar. Bueno, entré de nuevo al bosque e increíblemente ahora se había convertido en una sala de cofres, me recordó bastante a los lucky blocks de Minecraft. Estuve abriendo varios y unos me hicieron perder vida, hasta que abrí otro al azar y encontré la llave del cofre gigante, allí encontré un objeto increíble, me da un 50% de rapidez al movernos y otras cosas más, luego salí de allí y ahora si me iba a probar mi nuevo objeto... Me gustaría que tuviésemos vidas, y que recargar vida fuese mucho más fácil...
Literalmente ahora soy una máquina de matar, la rapidez y daño que quito no es normal, aparte que ahora tengo mucha probabilidad de críticos.
