The wonderful thing about creating a video game, just be creative until you succeed
Creating a video game must not be at all easy, and is that currently to stand out against the giant competition that exists in the market is one of the most complicated tasks that game developers must face, try to be original, creative, unique, coherent and spontaneous, all in one place just to not be accused of 'copying' others must be frustrating, so we players must consider and put ourselves in the place of all companies dedicated to this. No doubt we should thank you for your wonderful way of standing out from the crowd, but...
The world of video games is vast and it is not easy to get into it, if we want to create a game we must be clear about many things, and above all, be original people and stand out among so many people, you can not imagine the number of people who fail daily for not knowing how to develop a game properly, and make the typical mistakes of being very boring or not knowing the keys to success to succeed ... Not that I know them, far from it... I'm a total newbie but from so many games I've played I've learned a little something that inspires me to write this post, I hope I don't screw it up XD.
If I had the opportunity to contribute ideas or even have the liberty and resources to create a video game I would certainly do it and with pleasure, having the chance to put your imagination to fly must be one of the best experiences, and even more, if your creation can make a great mass of people happy, for example, did: **Minecraft, Resident Evil, Uncharted, Grand Theft Auto, etc, etc... Imagine for a moment being the creator of any of these sagas, and feel the level of satisfaction they must feel just thinking that their creation made millions and millions of people happy at the same time, that's why creating a video game must be something very serious.
I love open-world video games, why? I feel that a linear game where you just have to follow a story and that's it, I don't see it as interactive for example a game with the possibility to go out and walk around the extensive map that should be there, do things your way and when you want, feel like you own yourself and not be a puppet following a script. Maybe that's why I'm a giant fan of the GTA saga, or even Minecraft, Far Cry, etc. Many titles stand out for being open world and offer us the possibility of doing whatever we simply want.
As a first requirement, my video game must be open world, which means that our freedom will have no limits, and we can always do whatever we want, yes, we must not exaggerate and do not think that our character can ride a flying pony, no. I'm not a big fan of fantasy video games, especially those that exaggerate too much its history and plot, I understand that it is a video game and everything is fake, but I feel that I do not enjoy anything. On the contrary, I like a videogame the more real to our life the better, although I wouldn't bother to add some fantastic things to it... That will depend on the story I want to focus on my videogame.
We already know that my game must be totally open world, but obviously, everything must match and how I told you above, everything must have coherence for the game to succeed. A story like Uncharted or I would even dare to name the style offered in Hellblade for me would be perfect, Uncharted stands out for being an extensive story, understandable and very good to assimilate for everyone, in Hellblade we can notice that the story is brutal, has a depth of another level, and is also different from the rest, as it would be a little more fantastic but without exaggerating, which is what I hate in some stories ... So my videogame must have stories of that style, that are easy to understand, very dynamic and not boring at all, and above all ORIGINAL, so if I were to write a script for my videogame, it would certainly be quite original and with that style that I like so much.
I am not a great writer, far from it, I even consider myself not very creative, but I would try to do my best to make the story a complete success, since a videogame must depend almost 70% of a good story to succeed, even if it has the best graphics, the best gameplay, etc. If the game does not have a correct and coherent story, it will simply be a failure, like a huge amount of games out there. I have seen many publications of this challenge and I really liked the creativity of all participants, I see that the vast majority likes the survival style, I sincerely do not say that this bad, just that sometimes the game can become a little tedious, after getting the materials to survive, and build a home, what else is left for you to do? Well, nothing... Like Minecraft for example.
While survival maybe, it's not the best for my taste. I would like the simulation, simulate the life of a person must be something incredible, imagine being and start in a game, and decide with your own actions and desires what to do with your life and how, that is, if you want to be a doctor, you will simply do what is within your reach to be it, or if maybe you want to become a mobster, equally ... It's an incredible world of possibilities, and there are very few games in the market with that unique style that I like so much, that's why I would also inject a little bit of simulation to my videogame.
Although we already have a good part of our game done, we also have to face how it will look visually, despite not having a very good computer or resources to improve it (I hope to do it soon <3), I am a lover of extreme realism when it comes to graphics, a videogame created by me will not be something 2d or pixelated (I'm not saying they are bad, I just like their graphics to impress), it will be something hyper-realistic, I will try to do my best work and effort to show players how beautiful a videogame can be, that's what I think when developers try so hard to create a videogame. So without a doubt, my game already has an open world mode if possible, an interesting, unique, and action-packed story. I would also like to add a touch of simulation, whatever it is, and finally a top graphics.
You may think I'm done, but not yet... There are many more aspects that a videogame needs to be good, I mean... I remember some videogames that stand out for their story, others for their graphics, others for their gameplay, others for their details, or even some for their great soundtrack. That's why my videogame should be full of those styles, how for example I would like to add puzzles and riddles, like Hellblade maybe, I think that the fact of using our intelligence is important, we can have fun and be intelligent at the same time! I would also enjoy having a soundtrack or very characteristic sound effects, maybe at the level of Outlast, which has an incredible atmosphere and fantastic effects. Or also a good soundtrack in the style of Devil May Cry, at the time of performing some mission or solving anything, I think it is also important to play with the sound, which makes our video game more interactive and less boring.
Customization is something very important in video games, being able to create a character to our liking I feel that makes us have more affection for the game, as we feel a kind of connection (I do not know if it only happens to me xD), but anyway. It would give us the possibility to customize our character to our liking. One of the most outstanding in my opinion is the incredible section of Black Desert to customize our character, I would include even the smallest detail for our players to feel at ease and try to portray their own self, or if they want to Michael Jackson, in short... It's something quite important I think.
For the playability of the game, I think that we should focus on something simple and not too tedious, I don't want to make a game where you only have to press 3 buttons to play, no... But I have come across some videogames where you have to use more than 10 buttons in the game, I know that with time you get used to it and you won't make a mistake in almost anything, but in the beginning, it's the important thing... Some people get totally bored of that and hate that kind of games, leaving them out and forgetting them just because of that stupid mistake, so I would create correct and balanced gameplay, if we talk about difficulty I think I would add the typical ones, easy, normal and hard Why? There are many people that really video games are not their thing, and they try and try to keep playing but they do not get to advance at all and tend to get stressed, so it is good to create a game for all audiences, they can play it both the most inexperienced and over time they learn and do not get bored at first, how people who are already used to and would not complain.
In its game modes I think it is fine if it would be a one player video game, we would only have the campaign mode and maybe some extra minigames, but NO. For the video game to be perfect I am sure that the multiplayer mode must be present YES or YES, why? Creating a multiplayer mode would inspire me a lot in Minecraft, I think the resounding success is largely due to its diversity in game modes to play, that is something SUPER important in video games as they make you do not get bored, it has logic no? By creating a video game with the possibility to play with our friends, meet new people, talk to people from other countries, experience new adventures, etc., etc... We make players feel 100 times more satisfied than some games with the only one player mode. That's why multiplayer is a must in my video game.
Anyway... To create a perfect videogame seems to be something almost impossible, but to create a good videogame, pleasant, that people like and enjoy, of course, it is possible! and a lot! It depends a lot on people's tastes to be able to like it, but if you make it of a very attractive genre such as the open-world genre, mixed with some fantastic touches perhaps, great graphic work and very good sound effects and soundtrack, plus adding some puzzles and riddles that will certainly make your players feel significant changes in the game, which will make their experience more attractive. Also, the single-player and multiplayer game mode will make our game more diverse in terms of available game styles, which will make us have even more fun!
If we want to create a video game we must take into account many things to succeed, all the successes that we have lived and played over the years have not come out by magic, but by a great team of developers and people with an absolutely incredible mentality with which they put their imagination to fly and offer us to enter their world, something like for example Uncharted or Resident Evil, I even dare to say Hellblade or A Plague a Tale (in personal opinion) did, the developers let their imagination fly and risked to fail like everyone else, but they managed to achieve success with a great epic game and both its story and gameplay style stood out from the other titles on the market, that's the important thing to know when developing a game, nothing will be easy. ..
I am not the best at creating games, maybe I said some nonsense or crazy things, but I tried to do it with my greatest sincerity and desire to create a video game, I think for gamers, like us, for the vast majority would be something spectacular to create our video game in this way, a very good initiative of Hive Gaming for offering us to give each one our opinion of how would be the perfect video game, that makes us all participate and unite us even more, thank you very much for reading this far!

Lo maravilloso de crear un videojuego, solo sé creativo hasta conseguir el éxito
Crear un videojuego no debe ser para nada fácil, y es que actualmente para resaltar frente a la gigante competencia que hay en el mercado es una de las tareas más complicadas a lo que las desarrolladoras de juego deben enfrentarse, intentar ser original, creativo, único, coherente y espontáneo, todo en un mismo lugar sólo para no ser acusado de 'copiar' a los demás debe ser frustrante, por eso nosotros los jugadores debemos considerar y ponernos en el lugar de todas las empresas dedicadas a esto. Sin duda debemos agradecerle por su maravillosa manera de resaltar del montón, pero...
El mundo de los videojuegos es extenso y no es fácil adentrarnos en él, si queremos crear un juego debemos tener claras muchas cosas, y sobretodo, ser personas originales y destacar entre tantas personas, ustedes no se imaginan la cantidad de personas que fracasan a diario por no saber desarrollar un juego correctamente, y comenten los típicos errores de ser muy aburridos o no saber las claves del éxito para triunfar... No es que yo las sepa, ni mucho menos... Soy un total novato pero de tantos juegos que he jugado he obtenido una pequeña enseñanza que me inspiran a escribir este post, espero no cagarla XD.
Si yo tuviera la oportunidad de aportar ideas o hasta tener la libertidad y los recursos para crear un videojuego sin duda lo haría y con mucho gusto, tener la posibilidad de poner tu imaginación a volar debe ser una de las mejores experiencias, y más aún si tu creación puede hacer feliz a una gran masa de personas, cómo por ejemplo lo hizo: Minecraft, Resident Evil, Uncharted, Grand Theft Auto, etc, etc. Imaginen por un momento ser el creador de alguna de estas sagas, y sentir el nivel de satisfacción que ellos deben sentir al solo pensar que su creación hizo feliz a millones y mollones de personas al mismo tiempo, por eso crear un videojuego debe ser algo muy serio.
Soy amante de los videojuegos de mundo abierto, ¿Por qué? pues siento que un juego lineal que sólo debes seguir una historia y ya está no lo veo tan interactivo cómo por ejemplo un juego con la posibilidad de salir a caminar por el extenso mapa que debería haber, hacer las cosas a tu estilo y cuándo quieras, sentirte dueño de ti mismo y no ser una marioneta siguiendo un guión. Tal vez por eso soy un gigante fan de la saga GTA, o incluso Minecraft, también Far Cry, etc, etc. Son muchas los títulos que destacan por ser mundo abierto y ofrecernos la posibilidad de hacer lo que sencillamente querramos.
Cómo primer requisito mi videojuego debe ser mundo abierto, eso significa que nuestra libertad no tendrá límites, y podremos hacer siempre y cuando lo que nos plazca, eso sí, tampoco hay que exagerar y no pensarán que nuestro personaje podrá montar un pony volador, no. No soy muy fan de los videojuegos de fantasía, sobretodo los que exageran demasiado su historia y trama, entiendo que es un videojuego y todo es falso, pero siento que no disfruto nada. Al contrario, me gusta un videojuego mientras más real a nuestra vida mejor, aunque no me molestaría en agregarle algunas cosas fantáseosas... Eso dependerá de la historia que desee enfocar a mi videojuego.
Ya sabemos que mi juego debe ser totalmente mundo abierto, pero obvio todo debe concordar y cómo les comenté arriba, todo debe tener una coherencia para que el juego pueda triunfar. Una historia cómo la de Uncharted o inlcuso me atrevería a nombrar a el estilo ofrecido en Hellblade para mí sería perfecta, Uncharted destaca por ser una historia extensa, entendible y muy buena de asimilar para todos, en Hellblade podemos notar que la historia es brutal, tiene una profundidad de otro nivel, y además es diferente al resto, ya que sería un poco más fantaseosa pero sin exagerar, que es lo que odio en algunas historias... Así que mi videojuego debe tener historias de ese estilo, que sean fáciles de entender, muy dinámicas y para nada aburridas, y sobretodo ORIGINALES, así que si debiera de escribir un guión para mi videojuego, sin duda sería bastante original y con ese estilo que tanto me gusta.
No soy un gran escritor ni mucho menos, hasta me considero muy poco creativo pero intentaría dar lo mejor de mi para que la historia sea un completo éxito, ya que el videojuego debe depender casi al 70% de una buena historia para triunfar, así tenga los mejores gráficos, la mejor jugabilidad, etc. Si el juego no tiene una historia correcta y coherente, sencillamente será un fracaso, como una inmensa cantidad de juegos que hay por allí. He visto muchas publicaciones de este reto y de verdad que me ha gustado la creatividad de todos los participantes, veo que la gran mayoría le gusta el estilo de supervivencia, yo sinceramente no digo que este mal, sólo que a veces el juego puede volverte un poco tedioso, luego de conseguir los materiales para sobrevivir, y construir un hogar, ¿Qué más te queda por hacer? Pues nada... Cómo por ejemplo Minecraft.
Si bien la supervivencia TAL VEZ, no sea lo mejor para mi gusto. Me gustaría la simulación, simular la vida de una persona debe ser algo increíble, imagina estar y empezar en un juego, y decidir con tus propias acciones y deseos qué hacer con tu vida y cómo, o sea, si quieres ser un doctor, pues sencillamente harás lo que este a tu alcance para serlo, o si tal vez quieres volverte un mafioso, igualmente... Es un increíble mundo de posibilidades, y hay muy pocos juegos en el mercado con ese estilo único que tanto me gusta, por eso también le inyectaría un poco de simulación a mi videojuego.
Si bien ya contamos con una buena parte realizada de nuestro videojuego, también nos toca enfrentarnos cómo se verá visualmente, a pesar de no tener una muy buena computadora ni recursos para mejorarla (espero hacerlo pronto <3), soy amante del realismo extremo en cuanto hablamos de gráficos, un videojuego creado por mí no será algo en 2d ni pixeleados (no digo que sean malos, sólo que me gusta que sus gráficos impresionen), será algo hiper-realista, intentaré hacer mi mejor trabajo y esfuerzo para enseñarle a los jugadores lo hermoso que puede llegar a ser un videojuego, eso es lo que pienso cuándo los desarrolladores se esfuerzan tanto para crear un videojuego. Así que sin duda mi videojuego ya cuenta con una modalidad si es posible mundo abierto, una historia interesante, única y llena de acción. Además también quisiera agregarle un toque de simulación, sea en lo que sea, y por último un apartado gráfico top.
Tal vez piensen que ya he terminado, pero aún no... Hay muchos más aspectos que un videojuego necesita para ser bueno, me refiero... Recuerdo algunos videojuegos que resaltan por su historia, otros por su apartado gráfico, otros por su jugabilidad, otros por sus detalles, o hasta incluso algunos por su gran banda sonora. Por eso mi videojuego debe estar lleno de esos estilos, cómo por ejemplo me gustaría agregarle puzzles y acertijos, al estilo de Hellblade tal vez, pienso que el hecho de utilizar un poco nuestra inteligencia es importante, podemos divertirnos y ser inteligente al mismo tiempo! También gozaría de tener una banda sonora o efectos de sonidos muy característicos, tal vez al nivel de Outlast, quién cuenta con una ambientación increíble y efectos fantásticos. O también una buena banda sonora al estilo de Devil May Cry, a la hora de realizar alguna misión o resolver cualquier cosa pienso que es importante también jugar con el sonido, eso hace que nuestro videojuego se vuelva más interactivo y menos aburrido.
La personalización es algo muy importante en los videojuegos, el poder crear un personaje a nuestro gusto siento que nos hace tenerle más cariño a el juego, ya que sentimos una especie de conexión (no sé si sólo me ocurra a mi xD), pero en fin. Daría la posibilidad de personalizar nuestro carácter a el gusto que sea. Uno de los que más resaltan a mi parecer es el increíble apartado de Black Desert para personalizar nuestro personaje, incluiría hasta el más minímo detalle para que nuestros jugadores se sientan a gusto e intenten retratar su propio yo, o si quieren a Michael Jackson, en fin... Es algo bastante importante pienso yo.
Para la jugabilidad del juego pienso yo que debemos enfocarnos en algo sencillo y no muy tedioso, tampoco quiero hacer un juego en dónde solo tengas que presionar 3 botones para jugar, no... Pero me he topado con algunos videojuegos en dónde hay que usar más de 10 botones en el juego, sé que con el tiempo te acostumbras y no te equivocarás en casi nada, pero al principio es lo importante... Hay personas que se aburren totalmente de eso y odian ese tipo de juegos, dejándolos por fuera y olvidándolos sólo por ese estúpido error, así que crearía una jugabilidad correcta y equilibrada, si hablamos de dificultad pues pienso que agregaría las típicas, fácil, normal y díficil ¿Por qué? Hay muchas personas que verdaderamente los videojuegos no es lo suyo, y ellos intentan e intentao seguir jugando pero no consiguen avanzar en lo absoluto y tienden a estresarse, por ello es bueno crear un juego para todo público, que puedan jugarlo tanto los más inexpertos y con el tiempo vayan aprendiendo y no se aburran al principio, cómo las personas que ya están acostumbradas y no se quejarían.
En sus modos de juego pienso que está bien si sería un videojuego de un jugador, sólo contariamos con el modo campaña y tal vez algunos minijuegos extras, pero NO. Para que el videojuego sea perfecto estoy seguro que el modo multijugador debe estar prensente SÍ o SÍ, ¿Por qué? Creando un modo multijugador me inspiraría mucho en Minecraft, pienso que el rotundo éxito se debe en gran parte a su diversidad en los modos de juegos para jugar, eso es algo SUPER importante en los videojuegos ya que hacen que no te aburras, ¿tiene lógica no? Al crear un videojuego con la posibilidad de jugar con nuestros amigos, conocer gente nueva, hablar con personas de otros país, experimentar nuevas aventuras, etc, etc. Logramos que los jugadores se sientan 100 veces más satisfechos que algunos juegos con sólo el modo un jugador. Por eso es imprescindible el multijugador en mi videojuego.
En fin... Crear un videojuego perfecto me parece algo casi imposible, pero crear un videojuego bueno, agradable, que a la gente le guste y lo disfrute, claro que es posible! y mucho! Depende mucho de los gustos de las personas para poder gustar, pero si lo haces de un género muy atractivo como puede ser el género mundo abierto, mezclado con algunos toques fantaseosos tal vez, un gran trabajo gráfico y muy buenos efectos de sonidos y banda sonora, además con agregarle algunos puzzles y acertijos que sin duda harán que tus jugadores sientan cambios significativos en el juego, lo que hará de su experiencia más atractiva. También el modo de juego tanto un jugador cómo multijugador hará que nuestro juego tenga más diversidad en cuanto a estilos de juegos disponibles, eso hará que nos divirtamos aún más!
Si queremos crear un videojuego debemos tener en cuenta muchas cosas para poder triunfar, todos los éxitos que hemos vivido y jugado a lo largo de los años no han salido por arte de magia, sino por un gran equipo de desarrolladores y personas con una mentalidad absolutamente increíble con la que ponen a volar su imaginación y nos ofrecen entrar a su mundo, algo cómo por ejemplo Uncharted o Resident Evil, incluso me atrevo a decir Hellblade o A Plague a Tale (en opinión personal) hizo, los desarrolladores dejaron que su imaginación volara y se arriesgaron a fallar cómo todos, pero consiguieron alcanzar el éxito con un grandioso juego épico y tanto su historia cómo estilo de juego resaltaron en cuánto a los demás títulos en el mercado, es lo importante que debemos saber a la hora de desarrollar un juego, nada será fácil...
No soy el mejor en esto de crear juegos, tal vez dije algunos disparates o locuras, pero intenté hacerlo con mi mayor sinceridad y deseo de crear un videojuego, creo que para los gamers, cómo nosotros, para la gran mayoría sería algo espectacular crear nuestro videojuego de esta forma, muy buena iniciativa de Hive Gaming por ofrecernos dar a cada uno nuestra opinión de cómo sería el videojuego perfecto, eso hace que todos participemos y nos únamos aún más, muchas gracias por leer hasta aquí!
