FIRST HANDHELD GAME CONSOLE - REVIEW

What is MICROVISION?
It is considered the foundation of handheld console as it is the first to be released in its time. This device was designed by Engr. Jay Smith and in November of 1979 was released by the Milton Bradley Company. Due to the fact that it is the first hand held device with interchange- able cartridges and the mobility factor, as you can play it wherever you are it earns a moder- ate success. Although it gains alot of success in its first years, the problems soon arises. It hits its rock bottom because of these reasons; Firstly it has very few cartridges, if we go into details for this first cause is that we all human nature to easily get bored of something and try something new. Though its advantage is its mobility, you can not also deny the fact that its small screen is not enjoyable to play and playing it for a long period of time is not good for the eyes. And lastly the biggest reason for its demise is that in 1981, the lack of supports from home vide game companies, I think for this reason we dont need to ellaborate it more because when no one is backing you up it is really hard to become successful especially in this kind of industry where supports from game producers is your bread and butter.
Actually there are several problems and challenges that MICROVISION have encountered, but we are no here mainly for that reason. We should try to remember the joy it once brought to the people of its time. Like how we cherished our classmates when we were still young or our childhood playmate which is usually our neighbors. Do not also forget that once it get us out of our boring afternoons or vacations. Also due to the fact that during that time where theres only limited technology any defects could lead to bad reputation or unfixable problems. As I said earlier If not for this hand held gaming console , Nintendo wouldnt be born. So for now let us throw back all the games that was playable in this device. As only as few 12 games or cartridges that was realeased in Microvision we can easily remember or review the games that weve spent a lot of time in. I think not only this game will turn back in our memories but all the conversations that weve made and the friends weve built during the time we are playing this console. So for now let us review some of its games.
Actually there are 12 game modes or games that can be played in the Microvision handheld gaming console, but I will only review two of the games for you. The reason is that it is hard to get deeper information because of how old this game was. Another reason is that very few records or game reviewer on the internet reviewed this game and not only that they only review the device itself and not the games. But for you readers, I'll be able to collect some useful infromations on the two games that you can read just down below. Anyway without furthermore explanation let us see or rather read my review on pinball and blockbuster. I also include youtube videos on how the game is played, but it is only an emulator of the Microvision.
PINBALL
Who would'nt want to play pinball when it is playable in a mobile device, which is much easier to play and dont need the hassle to go at an arcade. If kids these days does'nt know an ounce of idea about pinball then let me explain to you few informations or details on how it is played. The usual pinball game is played in a large box covered with glass, the mechanics or the main objective of the game is to score as much as possible by hitting the drain with certain times. Again there are advantages and disadvantages because you can not enjoy as much as you enjoy playing the normal pinball. The other disadvantage of Microvision is that it has small screen brick like animation compared to the real life game. But remember it is the first handheld gaming console ever made and it is the only one in its time. So I think, all the kids really enjoyed it to the fullest during the late 70's and early 80's.
BLOCKBUSTER
When the 2000s Kids saw this video they will remember the game ricochet on PC. But if the 1990s childres saw this they will be reminded of the Brick Game. This game is pretty addicting once you pop you can not stop, I mean popping the bricks one by one is the goal of this game. Again let me share the basic principles of this game, you have a single line with approximately equivalent to 4 blocks or 4 times the size of the ball, and this ball will be bouncing back non stop and popping bricks one at a time. It will not stop as long as you catches it, when I mean you catched it with your control line. There are not a single kid during those times that did'nt have a chance to play blockbuster. Only now that I realized that the game title can explain it all as its name suggests blockbuster the goal is to busts the blocks. So kids if you want to destroy blocks until youre tired play this game, this advertisement is for 80's kids only lol.
