Recently I felt the urge to play Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas again to relive some of my childhood memories, but I know the Steam version is pretty busted up (that is if you even managed to buy it before it was taken down).
Usually in the past I went with Silent's Patch and played the game with all its fixes, this time I decided to go further, I'll be showing all the mods I installed to get the game to work and look stunning. This is will probably my best playthrough after 15 years of not playing on the PS2, which is where I first played this game as a kid (thanks mom and dad for not caring lol).
I'll be distinguishing mods between ASI and ModLoader, later on I'll explain how to install each type.
So, let's go! Let's make this a better experience.
There are two types of things here: the essential/base mods or tools and the mods themselves, I'll start with the bases.
The first thing you MUST do to get to modding, is to downgrade the game. Right now the best place to do this is http://downgraders.rockstarvision.com/
You simply download the 500mb file, extract it to your GTA:SA directory and run the install.bat file. If you're on Linux like me, you can run it with wineconsole ./install.bat and it'll install just fine. After that you can delete the "downgrade" folder safely.
After downgrading, you'll need Silent's ASI Loader, which is a tool to run mods and scripts.

SilentPatch (ASI) is a must install for anyone meaning to play GTA:SA in the current year, specially if it's the 1.0 version which I recommend downgrading to. It fixes so many issues that I can't even begin to make an introduction to. It's absolutely huge and you can check all the fixes on the site above where you can also download the ASI Loader.
ModLoader (ASI) is an ASI plugin for ASI loaders that lets you easily install all sorts of mods and will be essential for the rest of the mods I showcase here today.

Open Limit Adjuster (ModLoader) is another essential mod for installing other mods, this one needs ModLoader to work. This mod essentially allocates dynamic limits for the engine so other mods can work without crashing the game because the engine couldn't handle all the assets.

Ginput (ASI) is another really useful mod if you're using a controller, it fixes issues that the game had on PC with joysticks and lets you use Xbox or Playstation button icons in-game. It's a must for anyone intending on using a controller, specially useful for Steam Deck users.
This one isn't as essential as most people I know play on mouse and keyboard, but it's still essential if you're on a controller.
It's also available on Silent's website.
ProperFixes (ModLoader) is a HUGE mod that fixes tons of map-related issues, bugs, LOD issues, gives you a better radar, fixes textures, etc.
It's a whopping 300mbs. Be aware that you'll need another mod together with this to work, which is SkyGfx, which makes the game look more like the PS2 version which had better lighting and ambiance.

FramerateVigilante (ModLoader) is a mod that lets you play the game at higher than 30FPS without bringing in engine related bugs due to there being a cap to 24/30FPS on the physics of the game. This mod is an absolute blessing, because I get headaches with the original framerate. It just makes the game infinitely smoother and more playable.

Widescreen Fix for GTA SA (ModLoader) is a compilation of two mods that work together to make the game and the UI elements render properly in a 16:9 display. It's also essential if you're playing on a modern display, but not needed in case you plan on playing in 4:3.
- How to Install
Your download folder should look like this once you've downloaded everything.
ASI mods are the easiest ones, you just simply paste the contents of the mods to the root folder of GTA:SA
ModLoader mods require you to paste the folder of the mod inside the modloader folder in the root of your GTA:SA installation.
Your GTA:SA folder should look like this.
And your ModLoader folder like this.
After all is set and done, you can play the game like it's 2004! With everything working perfectly on modern systems (even on Linux, in my case) and with no bugs and better graphics.

But that's it! You've got yourself the best install of GTA SA possible.

Há dois tipos de coisas aqui: os mods ou ferramentas essenciais/base e os mods mod mesmo.
A primeira coisa que você DEVE fazer para começar a modificar é fazer o downgrade do jogo. No momento, o melhor lugar para fazer isso é no http://downgraders.rockstarvision.com/

O FramerateVigilante (ModLoader) é um mod que permite que você jogue o jogo a mais de 30 FPS sem causar bugs relacionados a engine, pois há um limite de 24/30 FPS na física do jogo. Esse mod é uma bênção, pois tenho dores de cabeça com o FPS original. Ele torna o jogo infinitamente mais suave e mais jogável.

O Widescreen Fix for GTA SA (ModLoader) é uma compilação de dois mods que funcionam juntos para fazer com que o jogo e os elementos da interface da HUD sejam renderizados corretamente em uma tela 16:9. Ele também é essencial se você estiver jogando em uma tela moderna, mas não é necessário caso planeje jogar em 4:3.
- Como instalar
Sua pasta de download vai ficar assim depois que você tiver baixado tudo.
Os mods ASI são os mais fáceis, basta colar o conteúdo dos mods na pasta raiz do GTA:SA
Os mods do ModLoader exigem que você cole a pasta do mod dentro da pasta do modloader na raiz da instalação do GTA:SA.
Sua pasta do GTA:SA vai ficar assim.
E sua pasta ModLoader assim.
Depois que tudo estiver pronto, você poderá jogar o jogo como se fosse 2004! Com tudo funcionando perfeitamente em sistemas modernos (até mesmo no Linux, no meu caso), sem bugs e com gráficos melhores.
O jogo fica com os gráficos e jogabilidade assim. Foi mal pela resolução terrível, eu esqueci de configurar a resolução e bandwidth do OBS antes de gravar 💀
Mas é isso aí! Você tem a melhor instalação possível do GTA SA.
